  4. Heh....bugs are a PAIN. When I went out and started the older 4 a couple weekends ago or so ... I noticed some of 'em had bugs on the front of 'em from last year. But, not too worried about it ... they usually are easy to clean off, given the wax that is on them . And, FOG ... not sure that feeling bad is what I feel ... just weird, since I'm used to having them out no LATER than mid-May.... This is VERY unusual for me ... maybe I should sell 'em ... I don't know . OK ... how about cleaning methods? If I'm doing everything, I wash the car and clean the interior (including trunk) in the morning. After a lunch break, I wax the car in the afternoon into early early evening. Yes, it takes me longer than most people ... because I have to take my time. So, what is your "cleaning routine"? He he I don't mind some badging, but I've never understood the additional "V6" and other such badging on cars.... *shrugs* And, I, too, prefer when it "reads correctly" left to right across the back.... 11. Seeing my older 4 Monte Carlos literally covered in dust, and sadly STILL not "on the road" for 2007, made me realize I don't have a lot more weekends to really give them a cleaning. Heck, last year, I only washed the older 4 MCs (all 4 on one Saturday) ... didn't even wax 'em. Since that isn't the "norm" for me, I hope to change that this year...we'll see. I managed to get the '87 MC LS waxed 3 times, though, last year. So far, I've cleaned and waxed the '87 MC LS once this year. Normally, I wash, wax and clean the interior of the older 4 MCs once a year. I just dust them off every so often during the rest of the time that they are out ... unless they get caught in a rainstorm. The '87 MC LS, however, gets that "whole" treatment at least 3 times a year. I try to wash it in between "cleanings", but don't always manage to accomplish that as much as I want ... or, perhaps, should.... So ... how many times in a year do you clean your vehicle(s)? You can mention it by washing only, washing and waxing, interior cleaning ... or whatever combo you want. And ... no ... this is not meant to be a contest. As "impeccable" as I try to keep my MCs, I know I don't clean 'em near enough ... and they look it, too . 18. Well, here is a story for you, Camino: In September 1996, I had traveled to Nashville TN looking for work ... hoping to move down to that area permanently. I drove my '79 MC Landau, which at the time, had the old 267 V7 engine (#1 cylinder was not compressing). Well, while I was down there, the engine finally conked out. I was staring at a choice of getting rid of the '79 altogether ... or having a new engine installed. I, obviously, went with the new engine. But, while I was deciding, I was looking at newer GM cars at the time. The ONLY car I kept coming back to ... was a 1996 Corsica ... that reddish/orangish "rust orange" of the day. I absolutely LOVE that color ... no idea why ... just do. [Love the orange on my parents' current '06 Cobalt, too.] Anyway, I kept going back to it ... it was a used model, of course...had been a rental car. The deal was good (no, don't remember the numbers, just remember really giving it some thought at the time) ... and included a year warrantee. But, and this will sound weird, one of the reasons I didn't get it ... I hated the gray interior. *shrugs* Besides, I couldn't see myself giving up on a Monte Carlo..... Ironically, a year later ... I bought a brand new 1997 Corsica ('malibu') ... aye. Other cars I've considered in the past: late 90s Riviera mid 80s Riviera Intrigue Colorado ...and a few others. 20. OH my. That sounds a bit scary....in more ways than one . Hmm....I suppose I should answer my own questions, in a bit more detail. As I eluded to in my original post, I'm a mixture. Course, it's interesting to find out if people see me the same way I see myself, in terms of this topic ... and in terms of being wanted and/or an outcast and/or not belonging. I tend to "hold back" on the forums because I know thoughts/statements are taken too personally by others. I have also seen "flame wars" develop because people cannot fully understand the meaning of one's written words, since inflections and "tongue in cheek" statements are very hard to discern on the printed page. Still, at times, I've NOT held back ENOUGH. Some of my thoughts/beliefs about certain things/companies are not highly regarded. And, when I get "riled up" about something ... I don't mince words. Believe it or not, as much as I've "ranted" sometimes, ya'll ain't seen nothing yet.... I also "hold back" on the forums in terms of some of my interests. Oh, you can see many of my interests on my website [radio show, Monte Carlos, collections, hobbies, road trips, etc.], but I have a few about which only a small number of people know. In person, I do not "hold back" much ... especially after I have gotten to know people. In person, it is much easier to discern the inflections and "tongue in cheek" comments, so I am very open with friends/family. And most people who know me ... and have met me in person ... know most, if not all, there is to know about me, my personality, my wants, my interests, my hobbies, my strong dislikes, etc. I have found that the more you meet in person, the more you have in common with others ... and that can lead to a strong basis for knowing how someone will react to something ... and being able to discern different types of statements/posts. I used to care a great deal whether people liked me or not. Over the years, that has lessened. Oh, I still care ... but, if people take my statements too seriously or too personally on the forums (or in person, for that matter) and/or don't want to meet me because of my statements/beliefs/etc. and/or don't comment much about my posts/threads, I've come to realize that that is not my issue, since my comments are sincere and honest ... and I'm not compromising my personality or values/beliefs. 21. Ah, yes, that key extra word "nearly". Except, in all the stories I've seen/read/heard, GM hasn't used the word "nearly". Yet, you can pick up a Ford Mustang for less than $20,000 ... not so with the "impala" and "monte carlo"..... The ironic thing in all of this ... most people have been lulled into a false sense of security with their AWD/4WD/FWD vehicles ... by the automakers, no less. I cringe everytime I see a post or hear someone say: "RWD cannot be used in winter because (fill in the blank)...." I always like to ask, "So, what did people do in the '60s and '70s ... walk everywhere in winter?" *shrugs* Cort:33swm."Mr Monte Carlo.Mr Road Trip".pig valve.pacemaker WRMNshowcase.lego.HO.model.MCs.RT.CHD = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort "Confusing what is real" ...
