  1. I see we crossed paths in the FB coachbuilding thread, Robert. ? I’m going to be 100% serious here; I give Tesla 0% chance that this will go into production looking largely like this. It’s the worst design of the last 50 years at least.
  2. Somewhere, the Aztek and the VW Thing are doing shots together, clapping each other on the back and yelling “FINALLY!”
  3. oh. my. God. Shades of the 1958 Aurora, it's even in the same color scheme: This has to be a joke, someone please tell me this is a joke. It looks like it was built with cardboard and a few cans of spray paint. Not to mention; Rivian must be feeling par-TIC-ularly pleased with their work after viewing this.
  4. Basically identical to GLS. 450/500 vs. 463/516. Both 0-60 between 5 & 6 secs.
  5. • RE the Autoline video; the Charger reference doesn't fit because there was a what - 20 year break in the Charger line? The Charger wasn't "changed"; there WAS no Charger in the general vicinity of the 4-dr Charger. • RE the Mach-E - the more I see of it the more I like it (I do prefer the non-GT nose tho).
  6. On many models in many years Daimler put a stand-up ornament AND a giant grille emblem on the same car- this looks naked somehow. And because it shares the same 'worn soap' look of the 14 CUVs below it, it also just doesn't look very expensive. I like the 2-tone colors/break, but the overall vehicle comes off as a blinged up mid-range CUV. I'd take a Navigator Black Label instead ~
  7. I assume that safety list stuff is standard? I’m in a perilous time period where sooner rather than later, all that crap is going to be on everything. Truck shopping next year!
  8. If the overall design was more cohesive/fluid, I think it would be a lot better. As it is, the 2-tone makes it too obvious/Lego-esque.
  9. He does have a 7-year overdue Model Y to finish designing...
  10. The body colors look good, and yes- there's a general lack of color in the industry for some reason... but the 2-tone coupled with the design leaves me flat. I am increasingly finding Chevy's designs too jumbled & busy &... assembled. I don't like this Trailblazer.
  11. ^ It was published in an interview with some Porsche mouthpiece / exec; that Porsche would have gone under if they didn't do CUVs. Demand bought them, but they appeared to keep everything else from disappearing.
  12. Hate the different color roof here.
  13. How is that not an Acura???
  14. Porsche had to add SUVs because they going insolvent on the sports cars. No one was demanding a Porsche SUV, but thankfully for Porsche, they're taking up the volume slack in a big way.
  15. pair of very rare '58 Bonneville steel-backed/ leather bucket seats for sale in a Pontiac group, asking $4500.
  16. Thats fine if you are a multi-billionaire propping up a boutique insolvent car builder ? but major players are not going to be able to sustain that in a contraction market with an increasing number of players. We can joke about it, but at some point theres got to be a correction.
  17. 442 : I have seen where your automotive passions lie, and I have no issues with that, of course. Always; to each, his own. I know I am generally very particular- that's just me. There's no singular automotive segment that I like unilaterally. • 1960 Eldorado Seville coupe, for me? Why, thank you, anonymous wealthy donor, I shall love it like my own child! • 1960 Merc Park Lane coupe, for me? Ummm, may I politely allow another to appreciate this automobile over myself?
  18. Impossible, they're only 3 inches apart. I assumed the GX will replace the Encore, but that's a curious way to go about it; just enlarge the next Encore. This continual halving of vehicle segments is not sustainable.
  19. Well, the wording (“try to like all”) just struck me. NOT saying 442 is NOT one, but enthusiasts don’t do that; right/ wrong / illegitimate- they form some sort of themes/biases right off the bat and they usually set like hi-PSI concrete. And like I say; maybe that’s ‘wrong’, but to snapshot my position and keep it topical- I’d have no issue pulling the crusher lever on a Mustang II. Props, Oldshurst442, for branching out. I hope you get me.
  20. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  21. By vehicle size/type; yes. But by price; the Bolt is about 20% more than the Leaf and is actually priced higher than Model 3.
  22. KA-POW!
  23. Mercedes copied GM and debuted an airbag system, but 8 years later (‘73 vs. ‘81).
