Worked on sanding/ re-polyurethaning this house's double front door today, plus did some mortar repointing. Sprucing up for the market : $2.5M, about 8000 SF.

I see the RR Ghost does a 130-in WB and a 136-in WB. Piss poor development: just build one. BTW- there are scads of 3-row SUVs that don't come anywhere near a 210-in OL. Ghost is 213/219 and is only 2 rows. Ghost @ 219 is 1 inch longer than my B-59... but I have the 'junior' B-59; they went up to 225".

If there's any sort of 'need' for a extended length version when the standard one is on a 130-in wheelbase, Rolls F'd it up royally.

I'd like to know their EV projection for the US market.

I misread my source. ATS did get a refresh for '15, but the platform has been Alpha from the beginning. As for beyond '19, we'll have to see what happens.

"One & done" - no; it's in it's 2nd generation and it is going to continue as a coupe / V coupe. It put an entry-level Cadillac in that lux segment and has sold over 140K units.

I posted a link/pics of that Curtis I think late last year. Even back at the dawn, trucks were generally far more robustly engineered than cars, it seems.

Saw/ noticed my first Tesla Model 3 today. Other than the 'duck lips' nose, it's of course quite generic. Based on the number of Model S I see regularly, I expect Model 3s to gravitate to NJ too.

Have about 85% of the floor inside covered with sound deadening material- a roofing product called Peel & Seal. 6" wide x 25-ft, you cut it to the desired shape, heat it up with a heat gun, peel the paper backing & roll it down. It's some sort of butyl rubber / asphalt with a heavy foil on the upper side. Then all the seams were gone over with aluminum tape. This makes the car both quieter and cooler inside. Power level/ air volume is likely going to be making some heat under the floor, and I'm already a bit worried that any decent performance mufflers are just going to be too loud IMO. Need to SOMEHOW come to a decision on rear speakers, since there are NO cutouts in the rear window area for any and it's time to cut them. However, I really have never paid any attention to car sound systems; I'm clueless here. I do have a friend who used to compete in sound competitions, I think he was once clocked at something like 143 db. Hopefully he can 'dumb down' a recommendation for those who don't care to bleed from the ears when they listen to music.

Picked up a new (to me) drill press. Made between 1904 & 1907, Champion Blower & Forge Co out of ocnblu's backyard- Lancaster. Probably not obvious by the pic, but it's 4.5 feet tall & weighs 180 lbs.

You might consider combining your hobbies; make really really heavy shoes and just lift those. Save some time.

The Texan was a Dodge, '56 for sure. I'm not aware of any other Texas-related post-war nameplates, but there were a bunch pre-war. 1917 Alamo, Phoenix - no vehicles produced.

^ Pontiac built 68 '62 GP 'street' 421 V8 cars (and 16 race 421SDs). Reputedly, a Daytona Pontiac dealer built about 30 'Fireball Roberts Special Edition' cars, but IDK if they were all 421s OR if the number of them is that high. The gold grille, body insert, 8-lugs, etc were part of that package. This car is the only one I can recall ever seeing pics of with this paint scheme, which is why I doubt "30".

Being BOF or UB is immaterial here, despite it's mention above. A "Silverado SS" with a 6.2L is not going to be in the same high performance ballpark as a Camaro SS. IMO, the SS nameplate should be kept to truly well-rounded Hi-Po vehicles (this, despite the fact that the first SS was merely a trim package and could be had as an anemic I6).
