  1. Well, let's see. We gots an 'L', we gots an 'A', we gots a 'B', we gots two 'T's and two 'H's, we gots an 'M' and a 'double M', we gots a 'double R'... What's that spell??? UNIMAGINATIVE! So there's probably plenty of boring room for a 'V'.
  2. Lambo is projecting worldwide 2018 sales of the Urus to be 1000 units. Is that worthy of building a competitor to? Other than the Cayenne GTS, I don't see any other sporting hi-po SUVs out there at this level. The next generation Escalade can easily be positioned 25% higher right off the bat... then Cadillac should add performance & packages well above that. 4.2TT has the EXACT same torque output as the Urus, piece of cake to slide one into an Escalade V-Sport. And Cadillac IS marching upward.
  3. So you're saying the Corvette doesn't handle.
  4. Yea, MB has a trickle of hybrid / -e cars, 3 or 4 models by the charts, but NObody buys 'em. And they're QUITE 'conventional' looking.
  5. By 'really?' I meant the utterly unimaginative 'evoltis' name. Going to add to that with another 'really?' at the 'Global One' platform name. Not much creativity left in the auto industry.
  6. Wow- that's a full second quicker to 60 and a whopping 120 mile longer range than the merecedes EQA concept!
  7. The '19 ZR1 beat both the Viper ACR and the Ford GT at VIR. Extrapolated to Nurburing, that should put a good official run around 6:55-57.
  8. RE the Germans Twins; I strongly suspect that brand cache is masking a LOT of dissatisfaction and brand rejection. IE; they get a steady influx of new buyers that learn via experience they aren't. all. that. especially for the money/upkeep/depreciation costs.
  9. That's Daimler for you; a steady pressure to move downmarket. And with the top badge this time.
  10. As was stated, they go into the low $100Ks already. Just as the V8TT was predicted and now has been confirmed; even higher up Escalades are in the pipeline.
  11. Sidaway footbridge, Kingsbury Run section of Cleveland OH. Abandoned in 1966 but still standing ~
  12. You always get it backwards. Silverado has Escalade parts. ? And there's a lot more profit to be had when you look at the average and high-end MSRP Escalades, Cadillac sells some quantity stickering for over $100 grand. - - - - GM's 2017 EBIT profit was $12.8B, which matched 2016. Per-share dividend was $6.62. UAW employees got up to $11K profit-sharing checks. Stock rose 6% on the announcement. The Company is in very fine health. It's accounting mumbo-jumbo and a one-time $7.3B write down that resulted in a bottom line of a mere $300M profit.
  13. Got a surprising amount of rain here, too.
  14. Except EVs currently sell at a mere fraction of diesels. JLR had better be prepared to see far greater drop in sales in the near term.
  15. $10K is nothing when the Escalade line is bringing in $1B in profit all by itself.
  16. My shop area in 2012. All are gone now: '65 (R) only left it's frame behind, got a guy coming to buy that within the next few weeks. Same guy bought the '64 (M) and another guy just spoke for all the parts for the '60 (L). I find multiple tiny dogs more frightening than quiet, non-pooping vintage iron.
  17. Whoa whoa whoa - gonna tell us about that '46, Moltar? You been holding out on us!
  18. new (?) Bentley convertible, cruising back streets of Princeton NJ. Does NOT look any better in person than in pics.
  19. Olds is the Pontiff of Caytion. I kid, Olds; I kid!
  20. Damn Daimler; bundling the dually & continental spare options together- no wonder buyers didn't take and the option got dropped.
  21. Uhh; NO. I also see no more association between the XT4 and whatevs Mitshubishi above, and just about any other of a dozen SUVs- there's just not a lot of great differentiation in profile here. Then again, I do understand what a 'rebadge' is.
  22. • Model S is in it's 7th year, and there hasn't even been a whisper of a next generation. • The "$7400" is a year old, possible/potential loss calculation, but it was not an official statement & time has passed since. Who knows the true bottom line outside of GM?
