RE the Germans Twins; I strongly suspect that brand cache is masking a LOT of dissatisfaction and brand rejection. IE; they get a steady influx of new buyers that learn via experience they aren't. all. that. especially for the money/upkeep/depreciation costs.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Lays More Money On the Escalade's Hood
You always get it backwards. Silverado has Escalade parts. ? And there's a lot more profit to be had when you look at the average and high-end MSRP Escalades, Cadillac sells some quantity stickering for over $100 grand. - - - - GM's 2017 EBIT profit was $12.8B, which matched 2016. Per-share dividend was $6.62. UAW employees got up to $11K profit-sharing checks. Stock rose 6% on the announcement. The Company is in very fine health. It's accounting mumbo-jumbo and a one-time $7.3B write down that resulted in a bottom line of a mere $300M profit.

My shop area in 2012. All are gone now: '65 (R) only left it's frame behind, got a guy coming to buy that within the next few weeks. Same guy bought the '64 (M) and another guy just spoke for all the parts for the '60 (L). I find multiple tiny dogs more frightening than quiet, non-pooping vintage iron.

Damn Daimler; bundling the dually & continental spare options together- no wonder buyers didn't take and the option got dropped.

^ I was driving thru Princeton NJ today around 4PM. Upper 80s here today, and in a college town, there was PLENTY to watch. Seriously, yes; I do enjoy people watching, its just I so seldom get the few minutes to rub together to do so.- Random Thoughts Thread
It may slow the GROWTH of the economy, but as long as it's growing its a positive. A shrinking of the economy, 'negative growth', is when major problems arise. It might be a good collective thing to let go of the expectation that the economy should always be cruising at 75 MPH. - Random Thoughts Thread
