  1. ^ My brother has one: Tri-P / 4-spd. I need to get a pic of it for you guys. The motor is supposed to be at the builder's right now.
  2. supposedly a bit over 50% fully vaccinated, over 70% have 1st dose. Difference in virus resistance between 1st & 2nd dose is only supposed to be 10-15%.
  3. Walked into the Chevrolet service department this morning- no one wearing masks or looking sideways at anybody. At Home Depot, some employees & some patrons were maskless, but 75% were covered. Getting there.
  4. Aftermarket 'tribute' rims, look like 18". Agree on the Buick looking very nice, tho if we were to switch it up to a GTO over a LeMans, I'd go that way. But all the '70 GM intermediates were basically spot on.
  5. Working on sanding down the hood (came off a Catalina Ventura I had years ago).
  6. Colors and multi-colored interiors = good (tho I still prefer black). Velour makes me nauseous. Seats need to be supportive WITHOUT squeezing you/ preventing movement. Except for having no headrests, the bucket in my ‘64 are more comfortable than those in my wife’s ‘16 Malibu.
  7. I think both dudes got in the car :
  8. Was at the Costco loading mass quantities in the wife's car, out in the outer fringes of the parking lot. Heard a high pitched steady sound like a distant car alarm 'e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e'. Glanced around and opposite me was a Model 3, 'running' but brake applied. Then it 'shifted' into reverse and crept backward, overlaying a whining gearbox sound over the 'e-e-e-e' sound. I don't know if something was wrong with it mechanically/electrically. When it 'shifted' to 'drive' however, it was pretty silent / both those noises ceased. #notsilent ?
  9. Cracked all 16 head bolts loose, pulled the valley pan (nothing to report beneath it). Bolts broke loose fairly easily. Took A/C compressor out. Next step is jacking car up & going underneath to investigate separation from exhaust & transmission.
  10. Yeah, LED light retro-fits have been around for years and years. I looked at them the better part of 10 years ago for my ‘04, but they all looked too ‘Transformer’ish. On vintage cars they either are WAY too bright or just look out of place... but some are well done. There’s kits that replace round glass bulbs with plastic lenses you can install an LED headlight bulb in - they look very close to original. But you put tinted ‘angel eye’ headlights in a ‘70 Chevelle and it just looks like you don’t know what you’re doing.
  11. ^ Old news- I remember this covered here last year.
  12. You. Don't. Have. To. Haggle. At. The. Dealership. You're free to pay sticker price all day long. ? I strongly suspect it's just me on this one.
  13. Fresh off of Carvana: where you can buy a 2020 Sierra Elevation that originally stickered for $51,250, now has 7,000 miles, and you get to pay $56,990!! There's your set price! It's not "fair", but at least you didn't have to haggle!! ??? You'd be better off paying a confident friend who's not paralyzed to talk to someone a grand to go to the dealer and save you... I don't know; 6 or 8 grand.
  14. You are not forced to "haggle". Frankly, in the Age of the Internet, all the guesswork is taken right out. I just bought a new vehicle, I didn't do any 'haggling' on the front end (I did on the back end due to my situation's unique turn of events- to my benefit). My sales guy hardly seemed surprised I knew the specific GM holdback amount on my truck, to the dollar. If you can arrange for a licensed electrician to come to your house and install a 240V line to your garage for your BEV charger on wall X, you can buy a vehicle in person and civilly discuss (or NOT) a number on a piece of paper. It's not worth saving yourself a FEW GRAND and test-fitting a vehicle in person; talking numbers is that frickin' burdensome?? I don't understand how some adults navigate the world they're in, I really don't.
  15. Costco's auto program is extremely limited in its scope IMO, and the 'online' vehicle purchase entities I've looked at (carvana & amazon)- there's no deals to be had there. You can do better at a dealer, and get far better purchase service. The online services have a long way to go.
  16. DREAMY :
  17. I don't know about the SS, but the G8 & V-Series cars already are sought after/coveted. 5 years ago when I was at the Ocean City cruise, the only modern car I saw regularly cruising the strip were V-Series Cadillacs.
  18. IMO, it's both bland and erratic. Very very little today has aspirational design. This (IMO) is very very far from that.
  19. NOT attractive. That long, impossible-to-unsee dent along both sides is very weird. Definitely looks to be on the cheap side via the up-close pics; hope this is starting around $25-27K.
  20. I'm struggling with the presentation that this is accurate; size-relation-wise : This too:
  21. You left off why- from the start they built utterly terrible vehicles. Not sure that falls on the positive side of 'disruptive'... ?
