  1. So the HummerEV has a GVWR of 10400 and a curb weight of 9050 - means the payload capacity on a 4.5-ton vehicle is a measly 1350 lbs. ? My 2500HD weighs 5900 and has a GVWR of 9200, a difference of 3,300 lbs. That ain't progress.
  2. honda del sol I think. Not sure if the spray foam is factory or an owner ‘repair’ that’s also degrading along with the sheet metal.
  3. Actually... ? ? the GNX, current Mustang and Camaro are all 2-door sedans because they have quarter windows. The term 'coupe' is derived from 'close coupled', and in modern automobiles, that means no quarter glass. 2013 Corvette is an example. so was the Viper. Not many cars fit the technical definition. I know- it reads as crazy to the casual observer, but it's rooted in automotive architecture / construction. Layfolk call anything with 2-doors a 'coupe' and anything with 4 a 'sedan'.
  4. We were just getting settled in a long-overdue, Cadillac-led automotive weight reduction health program... everyone was making progress, shedding pounds, feeling more lithe & supple than in years... but NOW- it's 7-layer fudge cake for everyone!! 9000 lb curb weights.... ?
  5. There were better handling cars, but there weren’t better accelerating cars. While I think the exterior and the powertrain are bad-ass (and you can make this a completely livable 11-sec car for what was $500 in ‘00), I do not like the interior at all and the one ride I had in a GN confirmed that it does rattle like hell... tho that car was then was probably 15 yrs old.
  6. From an era where so much greatness was created! 1 of the 547 built '87 Buick GNX's just sold for $205,000. Kicker is, that's actually the second-highest price paid for one. In 1987, only the Porsche 911 Turbo could barely squeeze past a GNX in a 0-60 run, by 1/10th of a second. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/rare-1987-buick-gnx-muscle-car-sold-for-205000
  7. Pretty sure the R IV was GP / LeMans only. Not on the full-size lines. Rallye IIs never went away since they came out in '67, up to probably the last RWD A-Body of '87. Long run for a rim.
  8. ^ They weren't around long, but I remember seeing them. EDIT :: Had to check first but apparently my recollection was correct; there was no 'Rallye III' for some reason. Pontiac was amazingly prolific with the styled rims.
  9. How times change. Candid filler pic in H.S. yearbook, 1964 :
  10. It'd be fun to watch that bend in half.
  11. Feel 95% fine today, so that wasn't too bad.
  12. Other day I happened to notice the DRL in my wife's Malibu was loose and recessed in it's opening. Had to jack the car up, undo 2 dozen screws, and fish it out. 3 of the 4 mounting tabs were broken, so I super-glued them back on real good and let the light sit a few days. Then did the whole procedure all over again. Couldn't get to 1 of the fasteners, so it's held by 3/4. Seems good. Weird- because there's zero signs of an impact, but car must've bumped something. Everyone here denies responsibility (it could've happened in a parking lot). Another note: Malibu has a lot of underbody fairings, and the wheel wells are some sort of waterproof, molded felt material. Modern vehicles... ?
  13. ^ I can't take Ibuprofen; I'm on a NSAID anti-inflammatory (tho I'm skipping it at least for today). Feeling pretty close to normal now; perhaps 1 dose of Tylenol will be all it takes- we'll see.
  14. Had my 40-gal heater replaced in '18, Bradford-White unit, cost $1100. ?
  15. Hour 23 - just woke from about a 3-hr sleep, feel rather 'blah'. Going to eat a lil sumtin and take some painkillers. Don't think I can work in the shop today. ☹️
  16. Nnnnnoooootttttt yyyeeeeeetttttttt.......
  17. Hanging at home- got 2nd Moderna dose yesterday @ 3PM. Right now (8:30AM), really nothing to report as to after-effects, maybe a 10% bump over my normal achy-ness. ? Would like to go out to the shop and work on more Grand Prix parts... maybe after a nap.
  18. Sounds like the connection is possibly ON the line- would have to gauge exactly where the issue is after excavation. Did plumber run a camera thru? Do you know what the pipe material is?
  19. • ‘70 Electra coupe, white with some sort of chrome wheel, super clean, motoring hard in the left lane of I-95. • car carrier with a few modern junks, but also a ‘52 Chevy convert, pale yellow, unrestored and crusty, and a very nice white/blue ‘59 Elky.
  20. Have not noted anything like lines, etc here in central Jersey. Prices have been edging up just like everywhere else, but nothing nutty. Diesel is about $3.03.
  21. Thanks- keep me in mind.
  22. Would you be interested in parting with one of each?
  23. Ya- had it for years. What scale are the standard model kits- 1/25? That size. Not sure I understood you - you have a '64 GP kit? Have a pic?? - - - - - I had a coupe promo for the B-59, but it was a bit warped and I sold it.
