  1. I saw the new 09 Dodge Ram...not bad, the not out yet 09 Dodge Journey, and a funky M-Class Mercedes with an m-plate on it with some weird hump on the hood. It had to be about 6" tall.
  2. So why didn't they show a G8 at the Detroit show then? There was no mention of it, and I have not seen any pictures from the floor.
  3. Cost vs sales became a huge factor of course. It probably is costing them a ton of money just to get the G8 over here anyway. So if the G8 takes off in sales maybe down the road the wagon might arrive.
  4. The only thing that bugs me is that the Provoq and the CTS coupe share the same wheels?!! What gives, couldn't they have chosen two different wheels to separate these models a little more?
  5. Awesome all I can say is awesome!! Bring it out today and I will sell a kidney to buy it. GM keeps bringing hit after hit, they have to be on one of the biggest rolls right now. Toyota may gain the sales lead but it won't last...at all!!!! I'm sure Toyota is sweating right now, especially bringing out all these boring cars in which only people that eat bran muffins will drive.
  6. The CTS coupe concept is supposed to be released today. I also saw something about a Pontiac release which will end up being the production version of the G8.
  7. Overall I like it, even though it has some Mercedes Benz elements in it. Just like the new Hyundai Genesis, which I thought was an S-Class at first glance. I thought VW came out publicly not too long ago and said they are lowering the prices on their cars to be more competitive with everyone else here in the U.S. This car though I imagine will still be quite pricey.
  8. This is very good news!! If you can make ethanol out of alot of other things(trash)instead of stripping down crops of corn to make grain ethanol I'm all for it!! Especially here in Michigan where tons of trash everyday is hauled in from Canada. I say use all of this trash instead of putting it into the ground. We have enough landfills and Canada's trash is not helping, it's only going to help open more landfills. Thanks Jennifer Granholm for selling Michigan's soul just for the almighty dollar it might bring. Well it's not bringing in enough $$$ because look at the economy here.
  9. It sounds like they were disappointed with the 25mpg they got. Give it a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed auto and you will see the mpg go up, add a few more engine choices too while their at it. But overall I'm warming up to the car, it helps that this car was in black.
  10. If GM were smart they would have some G8s present at the Detroit show this year to keep people's interest ongoing about this car.
  11. That is correct. The fact is, Honda has been running diesels in cars/suvs in Europe for quite some time already. They are ahead of the game when it comes down to refining them and meeting the stringent emissions laws here. I hate to say this but... GM is behind on small diesel engines - here.
  12. Dump the grilles all together and come wup with something a bit more tasteful and I'm sold through and through. I was and never will be a fan of the cheap mesh look, even the simulated look on the Denali's, this look is disgusting too.
  13. H4 here we come!!!! I can't wait, I'm holding out for this. Finally a reason for me not to stray off and buy a Wrangler. I just hope they stay true to alot of the details on this thing, hell shocks and all!
  14. I do like this one quite a bit. I just hope they come out with it sooner than later. I would be in the market for something like this in the near future, it has everything I would want, awd, a turbocharged 4, and dimensions that are good. What I mean by that it is, it looks like it is bigger than the Vue but smaller than say the Acadia. Maybe smaller than the Trailblazer perhaps???
  15. The Provoq is very nice looking don't get me wrong. It's just the first impression was 'it's on the Vue platform all the way', but I think they did a very nice job inside and out with the detailing.
  16. It's just a heavily dressed up Vue is what the general opinion sounds like to me. And I would have to agree, you can only hide so much what is obviously there, and that's a Saturn Vue in drag.
  17. Overall I like it, the Vue needs to go on a diet! This thing is a porker, and I can only imagine how much weight the Hybrid system adds to this vehicle. Drop some of the weight off of it and you would see an increase in mileage, not to mention what everyone else is saying...a DI 4 cyl. or a Diesel 4 cyl combined with the Hybrid system and you would see one helluva sipper.
  18. If only all these car and truck awards the past 2 years could mount a huge sales boost for GM then Toyota's sales would erode. But a lot of people are still in the uneducated thinking that American car makers still make junk. Sometimes the media bias is too great for even the Big 3 to overcome quick enough. I for one try to promote GM as much as possible when someone asks what I do and I tell them where I work. They are always like 'oooh isn't GM doing really bad?'. I say no everyone just thinks so and have you seen alot of their new products that have come out recently. The Darkages are still present when it comes to the consumer.
  19. Mere blips on the radar, these are both poor decisions on GM's part(in my opinion). The Traverse is only being made because Chevrolet dealers are whining that they aren't getting a CUV too! The H3 pickup well, Hummer could do without it. They would have been smarter to push up the release of the H4 and not even come out with the H3T all together. The media will have a field day against the H3T mark my words. The release of new car products in 08/09 is far more important for GM being back on track, and keeping the attention on them in a positive way.
  20. Yes, keep some of the "more experienced" workers around as long as they are productive and don't have something like 36 years in but still want to stay but aren't necessarily working. It's time to go and make way for some of these younger people salary/hourly and CONTRACT(AHEM!) to get a piece of the pie.
  21. Why would you get more of the younger people out?! That is where the future talent comes from, they need fresh blood and new ideas.
  22. It looks like GM is making headway across the border with our friendly neighbors to the north. Here are the winners by category according to CanadianDriver... http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/pw/..._catwinners.htm
  23. Don't know what to get for Christmas? Running out of time? Well, for that last minute Christmas shopper in all of us, you can now purchase a genuine factory Corvette C6R...for the mere price of $650,000. Check out the link to GM's corporate racing site. http://www.globalwebcart.com/bbvstuff/item...2dxm455&d=1
  24. It sounds like M/T gave them the sympathy vote because of all the problems this truck is having. Personally I wouldn't even have included it in the competition due to the unpredictable reliability.
  25. Hmmm I think I would hold my judgement until the final product is out. I love how everyone is like 'it's just ok'. Ok?! The car isn't even out yet!
