  1. I would love to get one of these, its just too bad the cost of diesel is through the roof right now. It would be hard to justify the cost of diesel fuel and the extra cost of the TDi option. Diesel right now in my area is $3.80 gal! Yes you would get more miles per tank but it gets a little sketchy when your watching the gas(diesel)pump go up and up and up.
  2. It could very well still shed some pounds without being tinny or losing any of its solidity. I mean the weight shown for the Vue is from 3,789lbs all the way up to 4,325lbs!! That says porker to me. Don't get me wrong I do like this vehicle alot, but I just think it would benefit from some weight loss which would help out the fuel economy.
  3. Are there any new pics or updates from anyone on their trucks and how they are enjoying them/not enjoying them?
  4. Inside Line has pics from the assembly plant in Australia where they assemble the G8. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Featu...photopanel..1.*
  5. There is a 2nd teaser shot on Autoblog here... http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/18/saab-sh...head-of-geneva/
  6. Well, keep the new products coming, Saab needs all the help it can get right now. The 9-4X is one of my favorites, I do like the 9-3 Turbo-X, and wellll, the rest of the lineup could use a little more tlc.
  7. Do you think AWD be a plus over the FWD, or have you not test driven an AWD in the snow or otherwise. Just curious because my fiancee wants a AWD, but I'm trying to convince her to just get a FWD model. The cost savings difference alone would be worth getting the FWD model.
  8. Don't get to excited about the facelift...trust me!
  9. So who do you suggest take over the helm from Rick & CO.?
  10. Literally in Ice, well not the real car, but pretty cool nontheless. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/12/saab-dr...ll-of-icehotel/
  11. GM posts 4Q loss on North America slump, GMAC Reuters February 12, 2008 - 7:30 am ET DETROIT (Reuters) -- General Motors today said it posted a quarterly loss reflecting a slump in its North American market and losses at former finance subsidiary GMAC. GM posted a net loss of $722 million in the fourth quarter, compared with net income of $950 million a year earlier. But when excluding one-time charges, GM finished the quarter with adjusted net income of $46 million, compared with adjusted net income of $180 million during the same quarter of 2006. Revenue fell to $47.09 billion, from $50.8 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. For all of 2007, GM said its adjusted net loss was $23 million compared with an adjusted net gain of $2.2 billion in 2006. But, as previously announced, GM took a massive $38.7 billion charge for how it calculated certain tax assets. As a result, GM's net loss was an all-time record $38.7 billion. GM's core automotive unit posted an adjusted $553 million gain for the year compared with an adjusted $339 million loss in 2006. "GM's worldwide vehicle sales increased 3 percent, or 277,000 units, to 9.4 million vehicles in 2007, marking the second best year in units sold in the company's 100-year history," the company said in a statement. "For the third consecutive year, a majority of the company's sales -- almost 60 percent -- were outside of the U.S." Philip Nussel contributed to this report
  12. This is the only thing I found on the Altima, and it is dated July 30th 2007?! http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...30/SUB/70727016
  13. Sales over there doesn't justify sales here, so how are they going to keep Saab afloat in N.A.? Just because they are selling 10mil in Russia and 1,000 cars here will be a big problem in the future. That is why they are discounting Saab's so much here, no one is buying them like they used to. In a way GM cursed Saab but helped them at the same time by injecting better quality, but I think alot of diehard Saab buyers walked away when they found out GM was buying them up.
  14. I'll take a 9-4X, that to me is one nice looking Saab! Too bad that it will probably be a starting price of $40,000 just because of the Saab name. If they could cut down their prices a little bit I think more people would be inclined to buy Saab's. I mean come on you can option out a 9-3 sport combi up to almost $50,000...yikes!! Relying just on the Saab name unfortunately can't command these prices anymore, they just don't have that panache.
  15. I agree. For the most part the Malibu has all but killed the Aura, you don't see too much about it anymore. It seems like GM has forgot about the Aura, all the ad money is going into the Malibu, the CTS, and the Enclave. The thing is they getting back to their original problem in the first place. Too many similar vehicles among all the brands. It becomes a problem, especially when someone I was with pointed out an Aura and asked is that a new Malibu? I said no it's an Aura, and they said wow I can't tell the difference...yikes! Now the Traverse will dim the Outlook sales by being lower priced. The problem with the Outlook is that once you option it out it is just as expensive as an Acadia. Believe me I've built both of them more than once and then went...huh? GM does not know how to balance their divisions yet. They get add, like oh this selling well, we need to concentrate all our efforts here, and then they wonder why sales are lagging in their other brands.
  16. I don't know why it is taking them so long to bring it out for sale though. Fall of this year, that seems a pretty far out.
  17. Front end good, back end bad. I saw this(Traverse)8 months ago and I wondered, really?, their going to use those tailights? There were other variations I saw for the tailights that they were playing with that looked much better. Overall not bad, I really do like the interior, the one I saw was unfinished so it is nice to see the final product.
  18. That is a very good price!! My fiancee wants one real bad, but we have a wedding to plan/save for, so a new car is out of the question. She just wants to feel and be more safe than in her car, which sucks in the snow!! I'm even afraid to drive it unless we have a carload of people in it. The tires are a major factor of why it scares the bejesus out of me. I feel more confident in my own rwd truck, in the snow, in 2wd than in her car! Low profile tires, which are crappy goodyears on a Grand Am GT are never good for anyone.
  19. Man tough crowd!! Since when did C&G people become such picture snobs?
  20. Some interesting new photos of the Camaro...courtesy of Autoblog. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/29/late-ni...floaded-at-lax/
  21. They should have brought over small diesel engine options too!! But Mr. Lutz says no to diesels, which I think is a mistake. You would see far more interest in diesels than they believe. E85 is not going to save the world, and diesels would get far better fuel economy than their speculated 30-something mpg out of the turbo or an E85 engine.
  22. I agree with you on amost all of your points! A lot of potential here that is wasting away. I'll say it again and again, dump the H2 once and for all!! Keep the H3, the H3T...ehh pointless in every aspect, the H4 can't come out soon enough. GM is realizing very quickly that it is going to have to downsize everything with looming CAFE standards. The giant H2 will be the first to be axed, it is aged and I think a replacement is way off the radar now. The H2 was in style a long time ago when gas prices were lower, and now you are seeing GM sweating, and that is reflected in the HX Concept with a E85 V6. Believe me I like Hummer brand for the most part but sales are slipping and it is going to have to reinvent itself quickly. How far did Hummer sales slip in 2007?
  23. What a pointless vehicle, I bet for the price they are going to ask for it you can get an Avalanche, which is more capable cargo-wise. I do like the motorcycles in the photos though
  24. I entered, it seems to working fine now. I would love to win a G8, but I never win crap it seems.
  25. I love the technology, and the fact that you can still haul alot around. But I do agree the cost of entry is very steep, even with a tax credit this is one pricey vehicle. As you see this technology become more widespread for the consumer obviously the costs will go down over time.
