  1. But I thought GM builds crap, according to most of the media. I think GM will in the truck and car segments. I just hope this helps overall sales. Does everyone remember last year when the Aura won, well it didn't necessarily turn into sales. Hopefully this time it will shed more light on all of GM's great products and give them a boost.
  2. Ha ha yup, and don't forget about GM's "crappy" products snagging 4 nominations in the 2008 North American Car and Truck of the year...take that Anti-GM media!!!!
  3. I know someone who has sat in it, and "they" said it is very true to the concept both inside and out...Exciting news!!
  4. Well someone needs to grow some balls and do it!! Last time I checked this still is America, and since when are we scared of being American?!! This country gets better and better everyday, fear is becoming an overwhelming factor...sad really.

    NEW 2009 CTS-V!!!!

Under-rated hp figures and speculation as usual. There will be more excitment from this car than what they "know".
  6. "When we read in Motor Trend that the Alpha platform would find its way beneath the bow tie instead of the next G6, we were a little disappointed. It didn't make sense that GM would forego the performance-oriented image of Pontiac that Blogger Bob promised us for the more family-friendly, high volume Chevy brand. If you can believe that Maximum Bob returns emails from fanatical Cheers and Gears message board posters (we definitely wouldn't put it past him), then we have nothing to worry about. In the alleged email, the industry's most outspoken executive cut right to the chase to tell the wide-eyed emailer that Motor Trend's story was "totally untrue." Heck, maybe we'll get the best of both worlds and the General will make a Alpha-based performance Pontiac and a stylish, fun and affordable Chevrolet. We've been denied many of the best overseas platforms for too long, but nothing can make us forgive and forget faster than a couple of world-class RWD sedans that aren't the size of a freighter." http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/06/lutz-de...alpha-platform/
  7. It depends on your needs. Haulin' stuff or HAULIN' ASS!!But regardless you will have to wait until 09 for a Camaro, and you will have to wait for a Colorado/Canyon with a V8...until who knows when now!
  8. "but still gets up to 32 miles per gallon." What a joke the Vibe should get way better gas mileage than that. But I am happy though to see that somebody out there is selling a halfway decent car for a fair price.
  9. Trying towing with any trailer, you will get 5-10mpg. I know, because I spent 12hrs in one on a trip back from Canada with a snowmobile trailer. One of the most uncomfortable back seats I've ever experienced, and we were not speeding to get that mileage! Maybe they have upgraded the seats since then, I don't know, but you couldn't pay me to sit back there again. I'm just not a fan of the H2 at all, I do like the H3 and I would consider one of those way before ever getting an H2.
  10. I would buy a Saab, especially now that they have an awd option. I've seen an 08 'vert on the roady already and the makeover made it look pretty nice looking to me. The only problem is for the longest time they haven't really had anything innovative to justify the prices they command for them. You can't rely on your name alone anymore just to sell cars.
  11. Hummer sales are down %30. So in my eyes why add fuel to the fire by putting more models in the lineup? Like I said before, eliminate the H2, if you must, come out with the H3T, keep the regular H3, and of course let's get the much anticipated H4 going out the door onto the sales floor already!! I agree throw in more powertrain options too. If and when the diesel comes out this is a step in the right direction, but this is still a long ways out.
  12. I agree about the H3T, why build it? Keep the regular H3, come out with the H4 and dump the H2's already!! On top of that give the H3's a mild makeover, introduce the V8 across the board, and give the option of fulltime 4wd or partime 4wd...'NUFF SAID!!
  13. When are the XWD versions going to be introduced?
  14. I'm not convinced yet on this car until I actually get to comb over it. There is just too much sub-par equipment on it in this brutally competitive segment. Like the 4-speed auto and a 5-speed manual. Someone mentioned this before and forgive me for not remembering, but I agree that maybe this is just a stop-gap product until then new car comes out. Overall though, I'm surprised that it is getting favorable reviews.
  15. GMC's site has been acting a little funky lately. I've gone on there to build various trucks and you choose some options and it will delete others. I know you just can't get some options with other options, but when it comes to checking off something simple and then it elminates another option it makes me go hmmmm.
  16. I'm shocked that the Malibu made the last after I read last months short review on it in Automobile. They were pretty skeptical on it and were not totally sold. At least thats what I got from the article, and now it makes the list? Maybe they had some more seat time in the Malibu to convince them. Nonetheless GM is on a roll!!!!
  17. The H3 SUT has been caught at the Baja 1000 doing some testing. The hideousness of this vehicle will haunt my dreams forever!! I really hope this thing is going to look alot better than this, but the giant rearend tells me otherwise. The H4 can't come soon enough. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/29/spy-sho...t-at-baja-1000/
  18. Who frickin' cares why or why not the Malibu should be on there. The fact is when was the last time 3 cars from GM made their list anyway people?!!!! This is great news and everyone wants to argue the most petty little details about everything else. I don't get it.
  19. Well I do know that you love the new Sierra All Terrain, as do I, but $40,000+ for a Sierra, or a Canyon for about $30,000 depending on how much the V8 option will be, I think I'll stick with the more affordable choice. Now if I were to increase my income by about $20,000yr I would be at the dealership right now instead of driving a 5 1/2 year old truck!
  20. HOLY CRAP these are some expensive SUVs!!!! If I were in the market for a hybrid and needed a little cargo capacity and towing ability, I would buy a smaller boat and get a Saturn Vue Hybrid. Tahoe Hybrid (2WD): $50,490 Tahoe Hybrid (4WD): $53,295 GMC Yukon Hybrid (2WD): $50,945 GMC Yukon Hybrid (4WD): $53,755 GENERAL MOTORS ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR CHEVROLET TAHOE AND GMC YUKON HYBRID SUVS Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price for Tahoe 2WD is $50,490; Yukon 2WD is $50,945 LOS ANGELES – GM today announced pricing for the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrids, the only full-size, fully capable SUVs whose two-wheel-drive (2WD) models offer the same EPA city fuel economy as a conventional four-cylinder midsize car. Manufacturer's suggested retail prices for the generously equipped Tahoe Hybrid are $50,490 (2WD) and $53,295 (4WD); and $50,945 (2WD); and $53,755 (4WD) for the Yukon Hybrid. Prices include a $900 destination charge and, based on current adjusted EPA fuel economy calculations and pending IRS approval, buyers could be eligible for a federal tax credit. "We promised to apply our most advanced technologies to vehicles that can save the most fuel, and we are delivering on that promise with the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrid SUVs," said GM vice chairman Bob Lutz. " The gasoline-only Tahoe and Yukon SUVs already offer best-in-segment fuel economy. Now, consumers can choose GM's patented 2-Mode Hybrid technology that delivers the same city fuel economy as the 2008 Toyota Camry with the base four-cylinder engine. The difference is that the Tahoe and Yukon can seat eight people and can tow up to 6,200 pounds." The Tahoe Hybrid is part of a commitment by Chevrolet, GM's largest brand, to provide customers around the globe with a variety of value-driven fuel solutions that range from gas-friendly to gas-free. The Yukon Hybrid is further evidence of GMC's engineering excellence and innovative technology. Both are among 16 gas-electric hybrid models GM is introducing during the next four years. D espite the added technology, the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrid SUVs are not the highest-priced models within their respective lineups. Two-wheel-drive Tahoe and Yukon Hybrid models deliver EPA fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city, a 50-percent improvement over their 5.3L gasoline-only siblings and comparable to the city fuel economy of the much-smaller 2008 2.4L-equipped Toyota Camry sedan, according to figures obtained from www.fueleconomy.gov. EPA highway fuel economy is 22 mpg. The fuel savings is impressive on 4WD models, too, with the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrids rated at 20 mpg in both city and highway driving. This gives the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrids a driving range of about 525 miles per tank of fuel, or enough for a trip from San Diego to San Francisco. Making this possible is GM's all-new, advanced electrically variable transmission and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS), which work in concert with the standard 6.0L V-8 gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management (AFM) and late-intake valve closing (LIVC) technology. GM's new 2-Mode Hybrid system enables the Tahoe and Yukon to launch and drive up to 30 mph on electricity alone and allows the 6.0L V-8 engine to operate in its more economical V-4 mode for longer periods. The Tahoe and Yukon Hybrids also save fuel with aerodynamic aids and reduced-mass components. Along with exceptional fuel economy, the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrids deliver full-size SUV capability – up to 6,200 pounds (2,812 kg) of towing capacity (2WD) and 6,000 pounds (2,722 kg) on 4WD models; 12,000 pounds (5,443 kg) GCWR and eight-passenger seating capacity. From subtle interior touches to functional exterior aerodynamic details, the Tahoe and Yukon Hybrid stand apart from the crowd. Once in the driver's seat it is instantly clear that these vehicles are special - from the unique gauge clusters with distinctive badging to the special tachometer. Even the stylish thin-profile seats, designed to reduce mass for improved fuel savings, also provide a side benefit of increased second-row leg room. These generously equipped, full-size SUVs include heated leather-appointed front bucket seats and leather-appointed second-row bench; driver and passenger power-adjustable seats; navigation radio with rearview camera system; a Bose premium sound system; XM Satellite Radio and the OnStar safety and security system. Other standard features include StabiliTrak electronic stability control; tire pressure monitoring system; a tire inflator kit (in lieu of a spare tire); cruise control; trailering receiver/equipment; two-speed transfer case (4WD); locking differential; 18-inch lightweight polished aluminum wheels and assist steps. On the outside, form follows function with numerous aerodynamic features such as a lowered air dam, shaped running boards and special rear-end treatments. They enhance the vehicles' overall appearance and contribute to their 0.34 drag coefficient. Noise-reduction measures include a new exhaust system and resonator; low-rolling resistance tires; additional engine intake induction tuning; an electrically driven, 300-volt air conditioning compressor and 42-volt variable-assist power steering; and tuning to the Energy Storage System cooling system internal fan.
  21. The biggest downfall of this car is...FWD!!This is where the CTS will trump it everytime in my book, that and the CTS is a far far better looking car inside and out.
  22. Does anyone remember 180hp Corvette's? Well...if the price of oil continues like this and the greediness doesn't stop with all these snakes driving it up, this is what you can look forward to.
  23. Why does this car not get better gas mileage? I don't get it, the other cars in this segment get more mpg than the Aveo.
