  1. Thanks everyone! I wish I could spend more time here but the business is still booming and free time is at a minimum. I still drop in a few times a week. . . I could never leave C&G. OCN - The vMAX has been long gone. . . I most recently had the Sierra All Terrain but that too is now the past. Last month I picked up a 2010 GMC Acadia SLT (pics coming soon) and this is one will be my last "new" vehicle until I get my Z06 vette. Cheers!
  2. I've used this tool many times. . . Great for custom work. The tool is placed on the inside of the pipe and with a turn of the bottom section the expansion ring moves up to stretch the pipe from the inside. The one you picked out is for up to 2" I.D pipe.
  3. Thanks guys, I really wish I could spend my days on this site again but the business is taking 95% of life right now. . . The sierra is great, i few bugs like Cruise sensor, condensation in the one tail light but I expected these problems in the first few year, my 06 was flawless! oh well. I just put my name on the dealers list to be the first to get the hybrid when it comes out. . . that should be interesting, after test driving one at NAIAS im sold!
  4. No even sticking around to see the Volt go into production? that's too bad.
  5. Now if everyone had the same motivation as you, that would make me a VERY happy person. It's only a matter of time.
  6. When the first electric cars reach showrooms in 2011, Windsor intends to be the first municipality in Canada to have public charging stations available to keep them rolling down city streets. The day after General Motors unveiled the production version of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric car, Enwin Utilities and the City of Windsor announced they are laying the groundwork to create the infrastructure for the Volt and its competitors. As many as six plug-in hybrid electric vehicles from GM, Toyota, Nissan and possibly Chrysler are expected to be available for consumer purchase by early 2011. Windsor wants to be the first city in Canada to make them feel right at home, Mayor Eddie Francis said. "When these cars are rolled out you're going to need a plan for them to plug in," Francis said, using GM's World Headquarters building in downtown Detroit as the backdrop behind a podium on Windsor's waterfront. "If consumer demand drives electric vehicle sales then the infrastructure will be there to support them." That will likely require charging stations at shopping malls, hotels and public parking garages, each of them operated on "smart meters" so consumers can plug in when electricity is cheapest and carefully measure their power consumption. Enwin will spend $40,000 over the next two years studying how to create that infrastructure for plug-in vehicles. The charging stations could be operated by the utility or they might be farmed out to private enterprise, said Max Zalev, chairman of Enwin's board. Enwin has joined a partnership of 40 other utilities in North America which are working with GM to prepare consumers for the electrification of the car. "It's a ground-floor effort," said Lawrence Musyj, director of conservation and energy management for Enwin. "They're coming out with the vehicle -- are utilities going to be ready? "It seems like a small thing to plug in a vehicle," Musyj said Wednesday. "But to plug in 2,000 or 3,000 of them, what does that do to your grid? If sales start to take off, (electric cars) will definitely have an impact" on Enwin and other public utilities. Larry Burns, vice-president of research and development for General Motors, said GM started warning utilities, architects, city planners and others last year that they should start thinking about creating infrastructure to accommodate the electrification of the car. Detroit Edison is also in the alliance of utilities, each of which will be loaned a pre-production version of the Chevy Volt when the prototypes begin coming off the production line in Hamtramck, Mich., some time in 2010. Francis said it hasn't been decided yet whether Windsor's Volt will wear an Enwin or a city logo. It will be put into service in either one fleet or the other as a working test mule, as pre-production vehicles are known. "It's always good to have a test vehicle on the streets of Windsor right across the street from GM," the mayor said, gesturing across the Detroit River. An early embrace of the emerging technology could be good for the region's industrial base and its post-secondary schools, including the University of Windsor's automotive studies program. The Volt will be able to travel 64 kilometres on a full electric charge, then drive a further 400-plus kilometres when its tiny gasoline engine kicks in to drive an on-board generator. The car will operate under electric power at all times, and the gas engine never drives the car. Because of that propulsion setup, GM started referring to the Volt this week as an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle, or E-REV. It can be fully charged on 120-volt household power in about eight hours, or in three hours if hooked up to a heavier 240-volt outlet of the sort that usually powers clothes dryers or electric stoves. Musyj said GM has told Enwin and the other utilities it is leaning toward requiring 240-volt hookups for the Volt to reduce charging time. But that would require that buyers of the car have a special outlet installed in their garages and that special plugs be available in public places. The aftermarket potential of electric vehicles is something a wide range of businesses should probably be looking at, Zalev said. Utilities, dealers, auto parts stores and other businesses may have to start selling "garage kits" consisting of timers and heavy-duty cables to charge electric vehicles. "We're not sure how it's going to play out in Ontario," Zalev said of who will emerge as suppliers of electrical energy to the drivers of the future. "The Volt represents the potential of being a game-changing Article
  7. I've had mine for a few years now, you can download new skins and locomotives. There is a new one coming out for 2009 that has been 3 years in the making. From what I hear is that the took actual pics of the routes to make them as realistic as possible, As with flight simulator. Ive been a fan of the railroad since I can remember so this game is like a dream come true.
  8. MGZ06

    Dream job?

Im hopefully on my way there to be a luxury yacht operator. . how relaxing!
  9. 1. None 2. HX only. . . the closes thing that would match the fun I had with my TJ.
  10. 1. 2 Sierra's 2. 2010 Hybrid when my 08 lease is over. . . but only if it's built in Ontario. . . so maybe not.
  11. They know that 5,000 will sell in no time, they do it on purpose. They love to screw us over and make a beg for them to build it the make limited runs so that there is a waiting list. When I bought my truck in December, I would have bought a hybrid hands down. Being an energy consultant, it would have created a "greener" image then my flex fuel. . . I dont even want to get started on the fact that the closes station in 80 kms aways!
  12. The Canadian Auto Workers union says General Motors has reversed its decision not to build any hybrid pickups in Oshawa, Ont., and will start assembling a hybrid truck this fall. Click here for the full story. It looks like my next truck . . . being the Hybrid . . . could be another Sierra built in Ontario.
  13. All I can say is "CHA CHING!!!" Ive been waiting for this to happen for five years now since I first started my energy consulting business. I knew that days would come but not this fast, I'm already noticing the flood of people looking to conserve anyway the can at home. Ive install 15 solar systems so far this year and thats compared to 10 total in 2007.
  14. A saw a truck load today! what a sight. . . but nothing beats one pulling up to you on Woodward! This guy must have just picked it up days before.
  15. Click Here For The Full Story. Being a former GM employee building the 4T's, it's really too bad to see this product to the waste side. Yet another major blow to the Windsor area.
  16. The kit is from Skyjacker, http://skyjacker.com/products/products_sea...tail/?id=187481, It's just a spacer that mounts on top of the strut tower and does not effect any of the OEM design. It gives the truck a REALLY nice look. It takes about 20 minutes to install and I found one at local shop for $139.00.
  17. Thanks guys! It was a fun day of working overtime! with the beer of coarse!
  18. Never a complaint here, I am in the process of ordering a leveling kit to bring the front up 2" and I will post some before and after pics.
  19. Ive seen about 5 or 6 of theses on the road in the past month, it's going to be stange seeing them come out of the Chrysler plant soon. Overall I think it's a strange ideal but it makes sense for VW to learn how Chrysler has been keeping up with the minivan production for so long. The new line is one of Chrysler most technical lines in their portfolio.
  20. That looks great! the interior details are amazing and the exterior is completely unique to the Lambda. By far my favorite one right now. . Arcadia looks bit outdated next to this.
  21. I just hit 1000 kms and love this truck. Going from the 06 to the 08 is a huge improvement overall. The ride is much much better overall, the Rancho shocks make speed bumps and curbs feel like a walk in the park. The 5.3 engine is surprisingly responsive to get up to peak power, although the 6.0 in my 06 was the king of pick up power. . . the fuel economy is vastly improved compared to the 6.0. Im averaging 15.3L/100Kms (not too sure what the MPG is for that) The interior is the biggest improvement IMO, I wasnt too crazy about the the "lux" dash when I first seen it due to it's lower then 06 controls. The 06 was nice to have everything within eyes view with the road. But I must say the "Lux" dash is growing on me, I had my Pioneer Nav reinstalled with the fist few days. I have much more to say but too little time right now. . . more too come.
  22. Well it's final, I pick it up tomorrow night. Thanks to all of you for the info in this thread! It's an SLE in Onyx Black, after all the cleaning I went the with the black Z24 I told my self I would nevere buy black again. . . but it looks so mean!
  23. Just a quick update. . . im about 90% sure that I will be a proud owner of the All Terrain at my deal. After the test drive, im sold on it now it's just a matter of getting the price right. . . or plan B is ordering one from the factory but im already 12000 kms over my lease. The salesman assured me that I wont be charged any fees for the over K's.
  24. This truck is a amazing! I went for a test druve in a SLE All Terrain and was surprised how well it rides! Im back in the market for my next truck, im sold on the Sierra with my MAX but it's 10,000 Kms over and it's time to say goodbye. The 6.0 is draining my bank account and cant wait to get into a 5.3 with DOD. Im debateing if I should pay the extra for the 4X4 that i used maybe 10 times. . . but there's nothing like having 6 inches of snow and passing everyone on the road The All Terrain was in the lot today so on my way back with a test truck ( 4X2 SLE with few options and only the 4. I needed to take the All Terrain for a ride, wow what a differance in ride with the Rancho shocks. Coming from a former JEEP owner I know these shocks can take a beating and still feel solid. I was not to crazy about the "Lux Dash", I this it looks great with the wood inserts but it doesnt fit me for everyday use. . . Im planning on taking the truck out for a few hours to give my final decision. The gauges look sweet with the Z71 and carbon fiber backing, just need to see how the look at night. Overall im 50/50 right now, option 2 would be the SLE with 5.3 flex, Safety Package and 20's.
