  1. U u were talking premium not luxury the Impala is premium take a look do some research like the Avalon and the 300 they are considered to be premium at the top of the scale within their brands if u are only talking about that then u are completely missing my point
  2. The Impala is a premium vehicle. I challenge U to put yours up and disagree based on what U have. Lastly.. As I said.. its a dealership thing. If the dealership hasn't transitioned over to an all Caddy loaner program then they are one of the dealers that needs to go. Simple as that. I guess U blame GM for a salesman in Caddy dealership beating his kids too huh???
  3. For once.. we agree. On the flip side Chevy has a billion.. Buick now has 3. BTW.. that still doesn't explain why Ford had to idle their F150 and Escape and MKC plants. EXPLAIN IT!!! OR STFU
  4. First I'll ask how do U kno??? Are U buying any of the luxo brand these days??? Also.. My company actually handles IT work for Towson BMW and Catonsville Mercedes.. I personally kno the Sales Managers, Finance Managers, and Gen Managers at BOTH. I'v eseen how they treat their customers.. and while they are professional.. they are no more professional than my Caddy dealers.BTW.. while U are trying to dog out Caddy vs foreign makes dealerships now.. this is one of my dealers, in fact this is Rose right before I wrote the check I chilled here while they did the paper work
  5. Again.. its a dealership thing. Also.. realize that had they given me an Impala I would have had ZERO issue even after spending $100K on my Caddy. Quite frankly they didn't even have to offer a loaner as my issue wasn't an issue for them but an issue that I created when I booked the appointment with them.. but had double-booked an appoint with a client at the same time. The Impala is a pretty nice place to be these days.. Ironically the Chevy dealership give me a Camaro when I had to take my Stingray in for a recall. It was a V6 but that thing was SWEET
  6. On the loaner service.. don't kno.. My dealerships ( I usually deal with one here in Balto.. but a different one when I'm at my Voorhees home) always.. and I mean always have a in stock Loaner. A few years ago they were using Enterprise tho, but that was before 2009. About a month ago I had to take my V in for an Oil change etc and they gave me '17 XTS4 with like 300 miles on her. It was a Premium Luxury VSport. I asked for a CT6 or even a Platinum VSport XTS, but they couldn't. Point is that it may be the dealership.
  7. First this is a stock manipulator, failing to have a real effect. Interesting enough if U were smart enough to buy back in June.. U are now $10 per share richer Second... This does nothing in taking away from the greatness of any of the cars at any of the plants.. These are '17 models.. which will be the newest things out for the next 10 months before the '18s arrive. I'm tripping on how the usual suspects come into a thread claiming that suddenly a CAR is inferior because it has a supply abundance.. How about GM had a "I'm giving these workers some hours to help the economy and not lay-off during the Holidays" issue. Me??? If I were running Ford... and this came about (which it did but I'll get to that in a sec) I'd find Wingnuts specifically and say "Wings!!! GET THE $#$@ OUT!!! And Don't let the Door hit your fat A$$!!!" As I told other workers.. "hate that guy..." Bottom line is that GM idle the CAR plants because lets face it.. cars are the secondary transportation units these days. Not including SUVS.. CUVs have accounted for 5.1 Mil while cars in the MID-SIZE sold 3 Mil, LARGE and Lux cars sold 900K and Compacts sold 2.6 Mil. This means CUVs have dwarfed all three of the car categories individually Oh... Didn't Ford just, lil over a month ago idle its Wayne plant because of light demand for the Focus and Cmax.. then idle the Kentucky and Mexico plants that makes the Escape and MKC?? Also.. they idled Kansas City for overproducing the mighty F150!!! Yes.. the did: THE YES THE DID LINK and another: The F150 on SOFT DEMAND LINK Stew.. I won't even comment on anything going on over at FCA.. Its just too effin sad to speak about
  8. Oh.. and quite frankly I had no issue with GM retaining Pontiac. I think the original plan of having it as basically a brand exclusively like SRT was supposed to be was perfect. Could U imagine how awesome the G8 would have been with the upgrades the SS got plus a coupe? Or the Trans-Am on Alpha pushing 650HP??? An Alpha based G6 (which was seriously supposed to happen. See below).. an Alpha based Solstice GXP??? Nothing wrong with Multi-Brand.. as long as its differentiated enough or has a solid following (see GMC vs Chevy Trucks). Pontiac as it was.. was not a good idea, but the plan Lutz suggested would have been awesome. Was supposed to be the G6 RWD on Alpha or G8 Coupe
  9. Because its Buick's fault that it was a blazing success in China.. Again... we are not talking about Lincoln which as of Oct... had sold about 25K Lincolns in China.. We are talking about Buick which had sold about 950K.. or even Cadillac who was closing in on 80K
  10. Thanks.. This is absolutely refreshing in the wake of the conversation on the other thread. This epitomizes what I have said about this car all along.. not looking luxury.. but at best premium.. even in Black Label form. In fact.. there several times that I thought I was gonna see the word "Taurus" pop up on the screen. What in tarnation makes this car stand out??? It might be reason one as to why the hell they filmed it in what looks to be 3 inches of standing water.. away from every other car on planet Earth. All I kno is that if I were Matty boy.. I'd be pissed having to stand there with my Salvatore Ferragamo bound feet immersed in ankle deep water. At least till I went and cashed the paycheck they wrote me for making weird sounds, staring creepily into rearviews, and conjuring goofy grins. I'm literally Dazed and Confused. Excuse the pun.. The jpg below is saved as.. "WTF"
  11. It was my belief that the C2xx SWB would be Cadillac and GMC.. with the LWB going to Buick and Chevy. In the Buick situation it was meant to serve as a way of killing on same lot competition between the Acadia and Enclave on Lambda.. especially since GMC already had the Yukons as a big people mover. Chevy is supposed to get a tween Traverse and Nox of its own as well.
  12. This is actually a damn nice update.. I can see that the whole of luxury will now have to incorporate such a thing. Lexus already does this with the GS line in this segment. Wondering whether the next gen "CTS" will do the same utilizing the PHEV parts or knowledge from the CT6? Estimated acceleration is impressive.. and Caddy definetly needs to counter considering the 3.6-liter, twin-turbo V-6 makes 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 to 4.5 while this 550i will be touting a twin-turbo V-8 with 36 more hp and 50 more lb-ft of torque
  13. And that can be successful. I truly believe that Buick can achieve Lexus/Audi-ish luxury while Cadillac takes on Benz/BMW/LR.. while essentially maintaining a level of exclusiveness and quirky avail like Jag/Porsche. My point being there really should be no Caddy below the ATS.. no CLA fighter... ever. There should be nothing on the level of an BMW X1. One drive in either will make U understand why. Buick on the other hand essentially has an XTS update, tho smaller in the '17 LaX. A current CT6 Premium config would be the Avenir after Buick styling was incorporated. Me?? Personally I don't believe in premium platform exclusivity.. In my opinion Omega should be avail to even Chevy
  14. not necessarily true, but for the sake of argument Buick/GMC could be hobbled and only left to compete at max with Lexus. Basically the introduction of Avista opens possibilities of similarities to what Lasalle once represented. I always find it ridiculous and hypocritical when I go back and read some of your old posts via MTForum or even remember come from Carfanatics and AutoweekCC. U never had an issue with muti- luxo brands.. often parading Mercury, Volvo and Jag. Regardless.. there is zero wrong with multibrands. By your logic in the most pure form.. the only brand that is truly realistically viable in the United States is Benz.. who at the moment is the selling vehicles from the high $20K-200K. Their line is beginning to be quite muddles in terms of positioning and perceptions. In fact.. why does Ford even continue to try and market Lincoln when ONE FORD should mean that the Continental simply be.. the Taurus Platinum?
  15. But GMC already has the Denali which is easily pushing $90K with the right options.. Second.. as I stated earlier Buick/GMC is a bridge-gap brand.. bringing in ATPs that I would bet good money are on par with Lincoln's... it is essentially what Ford had with Mercury and Lincoln while the real luxury brands were encompassed at PAG. What makes it crazier is that these two brands are pulling in a Global customer.. to the tune of 1.5 million sales last year with Buick as of Oct of this year passing the 1 million mark on its own. Combining brands??? What was the true benefit in doing so except saving a dollar or two on paying for emblems?
  16. Well why not? Buick is a marketing channel. It is in and of itself a near-lux brand, same as Lincoln, but with a an additional channel over at GMC. Specifically I speak of the Denali brand.. interesting enough one could easily but the Yukon Denali up against the Navigator and see my point. The Denali is more luxo than the Navigator. Seriously bro. U wanna really examine Buick without including its truck/suv brand in a sales argument? It makes no sense.
  17. Envision started selling on the last few days of may amidst controversy due to its manufacturing origin and the political atmosphere spawned by an egomaniac that makes even me seem humble . To top it all off when it went on sale it was only in top form, meaning the most expensive trim. The MKZ should outsell the Regal.. an excellent car that I'd take in a heart beat over the Fusion clone, especially in GS form.. they advertise the hell out of it. As to the Continental vs the XTS.. The XTS is an excellent cruiser, plenty of power, quiet as a mouse, looks upscale and feels upscale. Did I mention that despite some enthusiasts' ideas about its FWD proportions.. I think its gorgeous. The Continental??? Couldn't get me up if it had a life size nude picture of Margot Robbie down on all fours taped to its rear.
  18. Your boy brought up Buick sales so I took a swing and came up with a Grand Slam... Why would anyone have to pull out a companies sales to help your argument? Last I checked the Envision was just hitting the market and still wasn't up to full stride with product mix. I effin HOPE to God that the MKX, now going on two decades old, could outsell the limping into existence Envision. Regal vs MKZ? Are we even serious? The same MKZ that Lincoln markets the hell out of and pretty much got a redo just last year versus the Regal that gets no marketing and has been around for 6 years? Ironically the Regal/Insignia's sales globally should still be far and away better than the MKZ's As to the Lacrosse vs Continental.. Perhaps the fact of the matter is that Buick is perfectly sitting in the spot it needs to be right now.. not misconceived into trying to be something it isn't.. like Lincoln. I wouldn't touch a Lincoln with your money let alone mine. I would instantly feel like I had just been robbed, bent over, and raped.
  19. Anyone else find it ironic as hell.. that while Cadillac's SUV/CUV content does make up about 52% of Cadillac sales.. Lincoln's SUV/CUV mix makes up 64%? Almost every time Wings opens his mouth.. he screams hypocrisy. I promised myself I was only gonna half ass my posts when responding to some but threads like this make me wanna come fully back on
  20. Irrelevant, But still.. at the fact that even if U split the Escalade sales... each, individually outsells the Navigator and MKT combined
  21. Ooops. I already did. I guess the Enclave and LaX sell for $22K??? The Regal?? The Envision??? Even the Encore I bought for my ex sold for over $30K before haggling . U my boy are reaching for
  22. Actually Cadillac's ATP has to do with the Escalade, CTS, CT6, and even the XTS... all of which sell a nice bit in Platinum, VSport and now a VSeries With all the hoopla U made over Mustang's massive fleet sales having to do with this thread.. I ask.. who the hell is out there cross-shopping Buicks and Cadillacs.. when in reality they are cross-shopping Buicks with.. wait for it.. LINCOLNS??? with Buick nowadays getting the sale more often.
  23. And that has been a portion of my point all thru-out this thread.. despite some people's input. The Cars are so closely geared towards one another that its insanity to say that because their is another Caddy on the lot that the Lincoln is a direct competitor to anything other than the XTS.. which was the MKS's rival hands down. It would be like comparing the Camry to the Impala for sales championing of Toyota while the Avalon was avail. So is Lincoln using that same strategy on the rest of the products?? Because if not.. One might be inclined to think just the opposite in terms of positive vs negatives in confusing the public.
  24. I would, but logic dictates that the CT6 is also being cross-shopped with XTS due to them both being large.. CTS is being cross-shopped with XTS due to similar price. Its Cadillac's problem and they are addressing it within a year.
