Keep telling yourself that if it makes U feel better. This car is the real deal. JDN and co undersold it as it does not have about 5% of the S-Class attributes, namely a V8. The fear that should be your German loving mind is that if this car.. the CT6 is only 95% of what the S-Class is.. WTF is the CT7 or 8 gonna be. -

Because 0-60 times are what matters in the WHOLE of luxury. My reason for pointing out the 5.2 secs was to show that this car is no slouch in acceleration.. nor is it a compromise in get from a to b. The Tesla P100D is faster surely.. but its range is literally infinitely less than the CT6 (or S550e) for that matter if for no other reason than simply because the infrastructure needed for QUICK recharging is not here yet. And when I say quick I mean 5.5 minutes like when I pull into an Exxon and fill-up after my battery depleted and gas tank drained. Not to mention the Tesla' 315 mile range is not the 400+ range of the CT6 or S-550e. As for luxury STATE OF MIND.. I still say the luxury amenities of the Tesla brand are no more luxo than those of my Impala LTZ. And I might even say the Impala is a slightly above it. OH... I will give Tesla points for coming to my house when the car completely dies or burns up... Oh wait!!! Is that really a luxury. Hope it wasn't in the garage. And why are we even comparing the Tesla Model S to the CT6 Hybrid or S550e? Its smaller, about the size of my V, its an all E car, its only luxury because of the price and the idiot buyers Musk duped into buying as such.. and its tired as shit to look at Yes.. Yes. The Benz is also. The S-Class.. Truly the only Benz I'd give that credit to at this point.. especially if its the COUPE Definitely. But I'd prefer that GM/Cadillac really stick to the Voltec way, increasing range of the EV portion to about 100 until the infrastructure of Charging stations is on par with that of the Gas stations. -

5.2secs to 60 sounds a lot like what the overly expensive Effboy S-Class Hybrid gets for a sweet amount less. The Cadillac apparently will go further by about 15 miles over the S550e. Looking at the moron driving the Kraut-Car in the "rear-mirror-cam" as it continues to cruise on EV. Go Cadillac.. I love America.. and to those who love Germany, especially Mercedes.. they can go EFF-Boy themselves -

Random thought and completely off-topic, but y'all kno me.. Anyone ever had one of these when they were growing up? Atari 5200. Last night my gf's kid was playing Xbox One and I thought about what my first game console was.. this was it. Graphics have come so far despite this being waaaaaaaay ahead of its time back in '82

This win should start a move for GM into the realm of an all-EV luxo CUV the way the Jag IPace is supposed to go. Cadillac and Buick certainly would benefit from something like this. I would even settle for Voltec being slapped into the Encore and XT5 for now.

I think I kno what U did there.. All aside.. this is awesome sounding.. The V8 sounds like a stab at fuel economy via smaller displacement. A necessity. The TT4 is what has my interest. The 2.0L Turbo they use in the ugly ass CLA AMG already puts out 375HP/350 ftlb. This has to up the ante. Cadillac is toiling around with 268hp/ 295lbs.. while BMW and Audi are lower as well.

What Would You Buy Instead: Lexus IS200 F Sport Edition

This is HUGE.. and it automatically makes me say to a person such as U.. and myself for that matter.. "U SHOULD NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN THIS POLL!!!" A person of a certain height/size proportion simply should not even remotely be shopping for a Daily Driver in this size class. A Weekend runner?>?? Sure.. but as a car U have to live with day in and day out??? No. At minimum we should be looking at the CTS, E-Class, 5Series, GS, or XF. Now.. if I was of this size category I would agree with Dfelt and go ATS with the V-Sport trims. 2.0L Turbo with a few mods to get it to the 400HP number -
October 2016: General Motors Co.

I agree, but as much as I love my Impala I can't help but think that the proper strategy for it would be after 2018 to go the way of RWD via Alpha or Omega. Omega would be the obvious choice, but I wonder if JDN and co would have an issue with this.. thus Alpha. The CTS currently is almost spot on in size with the Zeta based SS/G8. Really it should be thrown about the corporation in LWB form for the Impala and Commodore.. but the Commodore has gone Epsilon... Back to Chevy.. the Impala as a RWD sedan would give some breathing room for the Malibu, and add to the Alpha sales. IMO.. that would be VW-ish.,.. and a new profit center utilizing one platform via RWD in the same way that Epsilon does. Camaro, ATS, CTS, Impala, Commodore, Riviera... oh.. so many more..- 20 replies

October 2016: General Motors Co.

Anyway.. GM profit centers are up like a mofo... the Chevy division had a helluva great month all around with the Impala and Malibu really only being the down games. AGAIN I truly believe that those two are hitting each other. They are so alike that Chevy has them cannibalizing sales. A colleague of mine bought a Malibu recently after going in to get an Impala as a DD. They bought the Malibu because it had a perfect size... better fuel economy and .. quite frankly being less expensive- 20 replies

U must be sitting at your computer with a razor blade to your wrists after seeing the numbers coming out of Benzo's car division. NEW CARS... the C-Class and E-Class both down double effin digits while that ChEAP ASS POS CLA is up.. I'll give U that. I guess if Cadillac decided to rebadge a Sonic then us real Americans would have domestic rival .. but better considering the CLA is.. did I say it??? A Effin POS How does it feel that the Cadillac division is sporting a $55,058 ATP?- 20 replies

Oh.. I'm biased as a mofo.. but I have on billions of occasions admitted when the proper level car was a better one.. in some way to a GM one. For instance I had no issue admitting that the S-Class.. above the S550 was a car superior to the CT6 Platinum 3.0LTT. I had no issue admitting that the 911 Turbo beat the shit out of a stock Stingray.. but there is some logic to that.. and even a redeemer.. as the Stingray is not a competitor to the 911 Turbo, the Z06 is.. and boy oh boy would that 911 have some competition. Its about tiers. The Continental is a car that I wouldn't even remotely consider to replace my Impala, let alone its XTS (or LaX) brethren. Good lord not a CT6. The CT6 is.. absolutely is.. an alternative to the S-Class, 7series, and A8 in their most common forms, but even I would not be so foolish as to say a CT6 was an alternative to the S63AMG or S8. U on the other hand are an idiot.. and would try and make a case for how a effin Continental.. LMFAO.. is a competitor to any of those cars. Hell U are so clouded U'd suggest that a Bentley Continental owner would be fine with a Lincoln Continental.
-
1) Its goofy looking and reminds me of an old Audi A6.. from like 2005 2) Lincoln in terms of luxury, and only on Black Label, is about a 6, while Buick is a 5.8.. until the new Lacrosse is considered and then all to hell with that.. I would put the LaX Premium on the same level as Black Label . God knows how this will turn out when the Avenir label jumps on the bumper of Buick.
-
OH oh what U have failed to see is that anything less than getting on your knees, pulling any Ford products fly open and commencing in sucking its #$#! will result in Wings swooping in and talking smack to the 10th power. Next time give the Continental a blow and U will be back in his good graces. To my opinion.. this car is boring with a capital B. Its most redeeming quality is that it played the "name card." If that is the trend.. and the rest of the line-up at Lincoln is throwing letter to the wind, or rather shaping them into tangible words.. then I get it.. but if this and the Navigator are the only named vehicles.. then I have to wonder why. This versus any Cadillac other than the 5 year old XTS is ridiculous. Versus the CT6??? GTFO of here. The XTS is ths car's target.. and even that I truly believe trumps it. For one.. its a CADILLAC.

Is Ford Motor Company Falling a Step Behind Rival General Motors?
Cmicasa the Great replied to a topic in Industry News
It was fine.. but I tuned it simply because I was curious to see what more I could extract. I was pleasantly surprised. The Yukon tho.. that needed to be tinkered with simply because GM loves to E-Throttle shit and tune their trannies for take off geared fuel economy... not to mention I had to kill Active Fuel Management. Hate that shit -

Lookiing at that pic of the C6 Z06 in CCap's post... and talking about the long in the tooth, and boring stylng of the 911 sure has me thinking that the C6 GS-Z06 models could have continued on as a separate car for the Corvette line-Up.. no different that the Porsche bunch with a Cayman selling next to said 911. Corvette C6 and C7.. Well WHY THE HELL NOT? -

I agree on some points Drew, but the Tranny comment is imo set that way to be the Goldilocks scenario. A true enthusiast will make the changes on his own via the very easy to use tuners now avail. Personally I have programmed my Yukon and my Impala's 6 speeds (I missed out on the 8speed in Yukon) and have actually left the CTS-V alone.. as the tuning in Touring is quite nice and docile while the Sport and Track mode programming is exactly the way I like.. and if I don't.. "M" to the rescue and I start shifting my own. The Vette being a Stick.. the rowing results are all mine
