  1. how bad ass would it be to point out toyota as a fake, copy cat... in front of everyone's eyes? say... toyota's started out... as mirror images of chevrolet's mechanically... so much so that... you could use chevrolet parts in the motor's of toyota... certain slogans like baseball apple pie and chevrolet or was it "Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie & Chevrolet" baseball apple pie & toyota? and its not your fathers buick? its not your fathers truck? yuck... i'm certain there is more factual coping... but flybrain and others would be able to help me out...
  2. i think they ought to redesign the colorodo and use that platform instead of making their unique platform... the blazer was always a good seller because it wasnt as big as the other ones... you could get enviornmentalists in those old blazers... but not in the tahoe/suburban... so redesign a home run colorodo, and throw an suv on the same platform...
  3. lol... its the mystic teal formula... its a pretty good sleeper... but i'm in ft bliss texas with the army now... so you wont see me around... but if you did... i'd probably go easy on you cause i'm not doing anything to my axel or my drive shaft yet... and i've heard those will snap with a little bit of hp
  4. The toyota advertizements have been claiming the 381 hp tundra is the most powerful in its class... when the denali 6.2 with 403? hp is the only truck with over 400 hp...? why does GM allow this advertisement to take place?
  5. the G8 will be bigger then the CTS by quite a bit if i understand things right... CTS is probaby a little bigger then current malibu no? and G8 is full size sedan
  6. good... needs to be a little more wordy... say more with less words type of thing... but... i would definatly see something like that on the inside cover of a magazine
  7. so this car has been sitting for more then 2 years... threw it in a shop that i felt was good for the job... now finding out... at 102k miles... this is it's second rebuild... and hopefully the last... the owner of the shop said whoever did it last time, didnt fasten a lot of brakets and everything was done really sloppy... perhaps thats why she always seemed like such a beast when i had her before... i would always woop my buddy's mod'd car with my 'stock' car anywho... the lt1 heads are damaged... the crank is burnt... sooo... what do we get in its place... LT4 hotcam 383... pushing mid-high 400 hp to the wheels... tranny is getting rebuilt too... 3.73's in the rear i beleive... still gonna go over everything with him...
  8. its obvious savings on the information center on the gm's... normally your cruising... going down hill or something...mpg shoots up to 40-50 or higher depending on demand... or cruising... the new gmt900 can cruise at 80 or so in 4 cyl and get about 25mpg pretty consistantly if its flat
  9. i think not... GM stilll isnt better or faster or higher quality... you cant go boasting... We've almost caught them! i mean... the 2 oshenawa plans are GM's best... the best in north america... but not better then a couple back in japan...
  10. well one thing gm is doing... is forcing fleet sales to appear as retail... i remember them doing this prior to my leaving at the dealership... but also at the same time... the retail incentives were greater then the fleet deals... so... why bother with the fleet if you could receive a better deal buying it the right way... but GM will only allow a person to get 5 cars a year with regualar retail rebates... i am to believe at least...
  11. i dont know why anyone would want to be picking them up... gm already said publicly/globaly it makes for a horrible resale value... so... anyone picking up the scraps gm's leaving behind as it turning around... is just greedy and unconcerned with the their own clients
  12. \look at the youtubes i put up on this if you need mud... perhaps it doesnt have a toyota... but its got 4x4 dodges and 4x4 fords that are being out done by a 2x4 chevy
  13. yea its pretty nice... in my old work truck (dodge) and my parents 2 toyotas... and ford f350... all have trouble going up my back hill dirt road and about 40% grade... and probably 300 feet... gotta jam on the gas... and hope you get your self far enough up the hill to get some more traction as it starts to level out... but my gmc... i can idle up the hill... no tire slip... no unsafe darting up this road that almost flipped my dads old (85) toyota and i dont even have 4x4... even my brothers 4x4 tundra has to jam on the gas to get up...
  14. yea... these trucks will do this $h! all day long... you all should look at this couple of things i put on youtube these are GM videos... they are for GM certified salespeople... but i dont know why they spend so much money trying to make the salespeople certified and educated about the product when the consumer is the one who needs the info to even goto the dealership. and this one shows exactly what those videos are making examples of... and its off my video phone
  15. you will probably see them in many of the never vehicles coming out... possibly t he next G6 has a few ques that the not used cadillacs used
  16. not always is the cloning a bad idea... look at the aura vrs g6 & malibu... they are still cloning... but i agree it would need to be more upscale... for instance a GMT900 tahoe is not the same as a Escalade, but they are twins on the same frame... that should be the basic difference between the camaro and its twin...
  17. what they ought to do... is on the G8... make a GT0 edition... fully stripped out v8 rwd manual 6spd...a/c and radio... let the aftermarket world reap wild... and you could also have a gxp version... fully loaded same $h! tho... but yes firebird... plus a g8 GT0 trim line
  18. like i said before... this direct competition, and model comparison teaches the dealerships and the salespeople... HOW TO SELL! like they say... the best way to sell a GM is to put it side by side with another vehicle... ride for ride, accel for accel... it doesnt matter what the magazine says... who has more hp... who's gas pedal is the most freespirited? who's ride makes you not so anxious to stop at your destination...
  19. so... i was thinking... remember those carls jr commercials where the guy is in the bread isle so confused about which brand of bread to use... "without us... some guys would starve" and see this up front... I can see this commercial making fun of consumer reports and toyota or whatever... coming in with a magazine and a couple of internet print outs... "This author says this car is the best... So I'll take that one... Ummm, that black one looks okay to me, kinda ugly but... this magazine must be right so... gimi that one, NoNo test drive for me... I'll get a chance all the way home... The magazine says its best in class." shows him driving home... you can see a completely smooth road... and its bumpier then ... well something really bumpy and of course bringing it back to a GM brand something and of course showing the quality... the realisitic best in class vehicle.
  20. that is the stupidest statement i ever heard... my vehicle lost a lot of value after i purchased it... so i purchased a toyota... i hate to break it to you... but vehicles are bad investments... toyotas values drop a lot too... trust me... my brother got ripped off on his matrix... but if you keep paying on your saturn... i bet... you wont have as big of payments and you'll be out of dept sooner
  21. because saturn is replacing olds spot on the chain of premium vehicles and in my basic opinion... saturn is competing majorly with honda... similar themes... similar customers... similar vehicles... and if the crv is about to become the most sold cuv/suv... then i think... it needs some friendly competition
  22. they ought to show people like duracel does why there product is important... the people that protect our freedom, protect our country, trust vehicles with GM engines and transmission to get them in and out of combat on a daily basis cause... allyson is used... im pretty sure the humvees are probably running duramax allyson... duramax... to name a few and these vehicles get shot at blown up... and they keep on driving... people whos lives depend on general motors for transportation, dont get let down. show people that these engines and transmissions are used in the heavy duty truck line silverado/sierra are also the same engines used in the medium duty trucks... but in all actuallity they have more power to get the job done faster like the duramax is under rated on the medium duty i think... its time to really get aggressive with the vehicles and informing the public... that the best way to sell a chevy... is to test drive it against the competition
  23. well what they need to do... is stare the problem in its face... its the only way to overcome the objection... that chevy lost its ways... its a sales trick... to show the goods and the bads of every aspect of the deal... and if the problem is truley the perception of quality in the product... advertisement must focus on overcoming just that... they proved that price was an objective with the employee program... now they must overcome the bigger jump... people can be lured into walmart for the cheaper vehicle... but luring them back out and putting them into a nicer set of jeans... or whatever... is much more difficult... but companies do it...
  24. umm... i dont think this generation is supposed to take any risks... thats next generation... this one is supposed to put the malibu on the market again as the worlds leading family sedan... once it establishes any dominance in selling numbers besides fleet... then it can make risky moves... but i'd say get 300-400k a year before giving it a hate it or love it style...
  25. would be 6 spoke if it wasn't a black steel rim... but its a 5 spoke alluminum... also rim spokes are too thin for medium performer made by gm... so my guess... bmw audi vw or japanese or hyundai kia?
