PickupTrucks.com: World Exclusive (Sort of)! 2013 Ram 1500 R/T Exposed
Z-06 replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Ram
The GMT 900s were rushed into market and not updated/enhanced with packages due to economic conditions. Basically they are neglected children of GM at this point of time. I hope GM brings some mojo back in the trucks. Other than the HD with Duramax, there is nothing to brag about in GM trucks. -
How is the build quality? Any glaring spots on fit and finish? Some of the dash material did not look worthy at the NAIAS. Is packaging and storage well designed and innovative?

An Aus CNG system probably wouldn't work in NA, though. Why? Would the fittings be compatible? Is the fuel compatible? Different countries, different markets..not to mention trying to get it certified by the EPA. Is that your researched statement or matter of personal opinion regarding fitting and fuel compatibility? As far as being certified by EPA does not mean not working of a system in NA.
-
Well it will be 5th MY around the world in 2013 - so a replacement is indeed imminent.

If it's in your destiny you will get it.

Yes, if there is market then it will sell. And if it comes people will be happy. If it does not come for CERTAIN, then there will be disappointments and people will move on. But keeping on purposely festering the wound brings no sympathy whatsoever.

I find this entire Camino saga just ridiculous. The topic just does not culminate one way or another. Either terminate the program or bring it. It has been close to 5 years of sitting on the pot with all that grunting.
-
Ahh the GM800s which were called 1500HD.

You mean overflow weirs. Honestly for optimal efficiency the drop should be close to 15 meters or more.Plus you need to channel the flow in that drop into much smaller cross section to increase the velocity of water for maximizing the output.

But at 100 years old it is still approx. 2 time more life-span than coal and nuke plants, and 3 to 4 times more life-span than estimated life of a solar plant. The problem with addition of more turbines is location and is the dammed water capable to handle the capacity? You do not want the lake to be empty. One thing to look at is regenerative turbines. I.e. placing turbines at two different elevations. So when turbine at higher elevation spits water out, it can be siphoned on to another smaller turbine sitting at a lower elevation. I love hydro plants for their simplicity and efficiency. We were doing research on some old hydro dams and I was amazed to know that the actual operational efficiency of the turbines can be close to 98% with modern bearings, and lubes. That is unheard of in any other source.

See the problem with hydro is that almost all the strategic dams for large hydro projects are already in place. So the technology has reached saturation due to available space.

I agree, we look down on taxis in this country because they are crappy Crown Vics. The view is likely different in Europe, and Mercedes are bought for longevity. In Greece, a 1976 Mercedes 240D taxi logged 2.6 million miles, before the owner traded it to the Mercedes museum in exchange for a new C-class. Mercedes has a reputation of being built to last forever, Cadillac still has some baggage of being what old people in Florida drive. WTF has longevity has to compare with perception of "baggage of being what old people drive in FL"? Do you proof before you post?

Following is the energy efficiency and range for cost of generation for respective sources. How can solar be that economical to sustain to be primary source of energy? Surface area is limited on this planet.

I was saying it sarcastically. Given how marketing operations are performed in the world
-
I am not sure about that, given the near-worship of DOHC in the last 30 years or so. As with anything, point out the benefits over the alternatives..... I really should have been a marketing major.... But then you would not be thinking logically.
-
Beautiful. I hope it is street legal.

I vote for Sonic. It is a compelling buy. Wished it can come with diesel!
-
HB CSpec. Enjoy your time and have fun.

Sure clouds are their own genre of photography, but the infinite depth of field perception can be enhanced by a smaller object placed closer to the camera distance. The house in the back is too blended in the clouds to be a subject in the photograph.
-
Nope, the magnitude of the clouds cannot be balanced without a smaller subject.
-
^ That's one cool HuDuR photo. If there was a subject in the photo, things would have been perfect.

Because the FWD SRX is $10,000 cheaper than the rwd one. The Malibu also outsells the CTS, maybe the CTS should go FWD and get a $28,995 base price so they can get more sales. But then RX is also FWD, costs equivalent to X3, GLK and yet sells more. What is that for?
-
GM makes trucks with pushrods for markets that requests that type of vehicle. If gas was indeed $8 per gallon, then GM already has smaller efficient engines to cover that. What GM lacks are (1) Diesel and (2) Full Hybrid in its portfolio. Don't blindly make arguments dude - but then again it is your specialty.
