Awesome! Can't wait for the new MetallicA album and their impending tour. (I'll be front row again, and backstage if I can pull some strings) Wouldn't mind catching Machine Head either, I haven't heard much of their newest work, but I both own and love "Through The Ashes Of Empires" James vocals finally sounded like they were coming around again during the "Escapre From The Studio '07" tour after 2 or 3 years of sounding like $h! in many ways. For example, he sounded excellent at the Live Earth (BOOO!) show. 2008 is going to be a great year for Metal in general; MUCH stronger than 2007 was. Disturbed just announced that they will be touring on their new release with Slipknot (also putting out a new record) and other yet to be determined bands. I'll definitely be there, front row, as always (Haven't seen either of those bands and Slipknot is in my top 5 or 10) I feel as though I've really missed out the last couple of years because the Download Festival has had such an amazing line up. My ultimate goal is to fly over and see it. We can't have anything like that in america anymore because our culture is such trash that people can't respect each other or their environment. (Anyone remember the last big Woodstock?)

Well, we can always brush off a few of the more recent successes... "Driving Excitement" -OR- "Excitement, Well Built" OR WHO CAN FORGET THIS JEWEL: "Pass It On" (You know; just like that inflamatory STD you got when you partied with PCS in Europe) J/K

I said the very same thing stated in both the press release and the rags. BTW, personal grudges aren't healthy for the site or the well-being of it's members. (That goes for everyone here who seems to have a problem with me)

New Pilot

Is this what Honda means by "sexy" ?!?!?!?! Comments: 1) Did Honda source this thing from China? 2) Since when did Honda enter into a partnership with Playskool for their exterior styling and interior materials? 3) It looks like a Hummer humped a Jeep and had a kid with downs... 4) Seriously, is Honda sitting back and laughing at how dumb and tasteless americans are now or what?!?!? 5) Every soccer mom in america will suck this $h! up though 6) It'll sell on reputation with Honda marketing claiming it as "technological and sophisticated" to squeak by, just like they did with the Ridgeline... Civic... And Accord. 7) I see a lot of the ODDyssey in the rear especially, not really a good thing if they're looking to extend their buyer base. I can't wait to see what the el cheapo version; you know, the one with gray cladding and steel wheels that somehow never gets tested by the rags, looks like if this is the top of the line version. -
GM Launches Partnership With Ethanol Firm Coskata
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to BigPontiac's topic in General Motors
Personally, I'm hoping for hydrogen to pull through as well. -
Looks pretty much the same to me. Besides, I'm just quoting what every major source has said. Now go waste your time somewhere else picking a fight you can actually win.

I really hope the CX-9 won because it is that remarkable... I just HATE to see the Tahoe hybrid be written off like it literally has in so many publications. GM's hybrid system is way better than that of TMC, and a full size SUV that gets the mileage of a Camry is astounding. Yet the truck has either been given begrudging praise or the same anti-SUV, anti-american that it gets from douchbag journalists anyway. Anyway... Kudos to both GM and Ford for YET AGAIN showing the world that the Detroit companies build the best cars and trucks in the world.

Umm, yeah. Isn't that pretty much one in the same? * I think China will have an impact, but we're dealing with global corporations here. Every new technology that GM et al. introduces here is sure to be introduced there as well. Thus, the benefits will offset the cost that much more. I'm not saying it's going to solve our problems, but I think it will help. -
LOL. I'll go the opposite way and say that I'd like to own a few steam engines

TCC: Buick Riviera Concept Will Morph Into Next LaCrosse
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to wildcat's topic in Buick
Whatever... To me, corporate showcar = concept. -
I think, if done properly (and especially if it end up on Kappa and a bit bigger) Pontiac would be an EXCELLENT candidate. If it's FWD or AWD, Saab or Saturn (Depending on pric e and volume) would be the choice. I really can't see Buick going smaller than Delta....
-
I have a similar situation... I was planning cutouts for my '73, but the car is lowered just enough to where I can't get my ass under there to remove the plates. So I ditched the idea for now and hope to someday go electric. Of course, the single chamber Flowmasters sound pretty good as is! Schuby87: That's a very sweet car! I'm very envious

QFT. Again, QFT... And I'm afraid the same thing will happen this time around.

Doesn't matter what the founding fathers believed. Look at Christian principles, then look at the laws of our country. It has nothing to do with combining church and state, it's more or less organization over complete anarchy. I agree.

TCC: Buick Riviera Concept Will Morph Into Next LaCrosse
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to wildcat's topic in Buick
AWESOME NEWS!!! I'm tellin' ya... Buick is becoming everything Cadillac wants to be! It's going to be sad when Buicks are more desirable than Cadillacs here in the states. The Lacrosse concept is one of my favorites too, but the Riviera is no slouch! Either way, the new LAX production model will be awesome. Also shared the stage with this bad ass concept: The Buick Blackhawk (I used to have an awesome picture of it doing a burnout.) I always loved the engine bay and clam shell hood of the Lacrosse concept. (Used to have pix of that too) -
To quote myself in the G8 ST thread: I'll bet you money that I could come up with something way better than this!

2009 Impala 50th Anniversary Edition
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Mule Bakersdozen LS's topic in Chevrolet
This is the performance face of the future!!!! A V6, with low expectations. [CUE 'LOWERED EXPECTATIONS' CLIP FROM MAD TV] LOL -
I'm not too hot on the exterior... I actually really like the front, but I think it looks awkward with the greenhouse and the rear of the truck. It almost seems as if they've molded 2 designs together; a very curvey, muscular design for the front with a boxy, distinctly DCX rear and cab. (Reminds me of the new vans and the Caliber) I think it'll do okay though, given the competition. The Tundra looks like a whale, the Titan look 90's cheap, the Silverado and Sierra are attractive but VERY conservative (which the Sierra pulls off, but the Silvy not too much) and the new F150 looks good, but nothing on the side of excellent. The interior is beautiful IMO... If they've actually put some money into the materials (which it look as if they have) the interior is an out-of-the-park success IMO!

DeLorenzo says this replacement was a top knotch powerplant.... Sad that it has been nixed. The way things look now, I give Cadillac 10 years before it's fighting the very same $h! it fought in the 90s. (Knockin' on deaths door)

We really should try to organize a meet. I can remember whispers of it from way back in the day; just never has materialized.

Here's a very simple, basic breakdown: Conservatives (Republicans) tend to favor tight regulation on moral issues and low regulation on economic issues. For example; most conservative people will favor censorship of entertainment (Not always a bad thing -- Our kids don't need to grow up any faster) and probably favor things such as the ten comandments being put up/left up in courthouses. (Not always a bad thing either as long as it doesn't limit freedom. This country was founded on christianity and, like it or not, cannot function without it's principles) Another example is deregulation in big business. During the Reagan years businesses were allowed and encouraged to consolidate and thus began the BIG corporations we have today (Think: Clear Channel, Fox, AOL-Time Warner, Exxon Mobil, etc.) This isn't always a good thing as it tends to make the rich richer and lead to oligopolies. Liberals (Democrats) tend to favor very little regulation of media/entertainment, yet like to regulate big business pretty heavily. (Not at all a bad thing) For example; most of Hollywood hates the current administration because it is censoring their "freedom of speech" by giving the FCC added power. For better or worse, they do have a right to believe that because sometimes the government does get carried away. Another example is a liberal might choose to support a local business as opposed to a chain store. (Think: Buying coffee that is a little more expensive at the neighborhood shop as opposed to going to SBUX) Yet another example of this would be someone like Obama siding with the labor unions as opposed to big business. OF COURSE, the perfect scenario is a compromise between the two (A moderate) but apparently that is the 'out of style' thing now in politics because no one seems to want to wake up and have a little common sense about the issues. Instead, ALL of the politicians seem to push this non stop turf war on issues about "how our party does it." THIS is what is ruining america, IMO. We need AT LEAST one other party to seriously run for the presidency. I personally consider myself a moderate. I'm a registered independent and I tend to side with conservatives on moral issues but tend to go with liberals on a lot of business issues.

Yep.... This will be my first new car purchase (Unless I can miraculously afford a Z06/ZR1 before then) I can see it now; the color will be black or something just as sinister... Maybe racing stripes... A slight suspension drop, tinted (solid black) windows. It's going to be a beautiful thing!
-
It's cool I guess... But it's no supercar.... For that, it'd have to have some sort of sex appeal.

Remember what I was preaching a few weeks ago about Politics and Environment mixing to become ONE CENTRAL government that controls everything? Look no further than this, for it is the beginning of the end. Soon everything will be regulated by the government, and ya know what that means right? CORRUPTION: meaning we (the working class) will all get screwed whilst the upper crust continues to "widen the financial spread" and live comfortably. I've been schooled in this for many years through my studies in Sociology. It's pretty scarey and ironically funny to see it finally happening. Should've never involved politics in environment, it created a whole new, very potent weapon for those who want to control us. They can't do it with military force, but they CAN convince us to turn on our instincts and "do what's best for eveyone". I swear to God, the public is so ignorant that it's as easy as coaxing a 3 year old to put up his toys. Just as the bible waiving naysayers predict... It appears that we WILL be controlled by one central government via computer chips and barcodes. These will be used to keep us 'in our places' at the bottom of the ladder. P.S. Anybody want to buy gun? I can get anything you want. :AH-HA_wink:
