    So...

I went to see Friday the 13th a few days ago. It was pretty impressive. But I think I liked Jason better as a Zombie because he was more 'supernatural' and didn't need to be human to kill people. You can definitely tell the Texas Chainsaw influence in this movie (The same guy did the Texas Chainsaw remake) Saw The Spirit a while back... Some hot chicks and cool elements, but don't waste your time. The 'mythical' and 'beat cop' elements of this story don't quite mix IMO. maybe they were better in the novel (which I've never read) Now I know why Frank Miller retired after the RoboCop movies (because apparently he can't make a decent movie. First 300, and now this... Sin City is my favorite movie, but Miller didn't have full control over it, so that explains why it was so good) Best movie I've seen recently: GRAN TORINO! My favorite Eastwood movie is Unforgiven, but this comes in a close second. EXCELLENT movie! I'm pretty fired up about Watchmen (even though I fear Frank Millers involvement) Pretty jazzed about Transformers II and pretty psyched about the new Terminator... I'm even a little excited about the new Fast & Furious.
  2. It goes back to this; we're prolonging the inevitable No one in this country wants to pay for what they have been doing for the past 15 years (living beyond their means, screwing people over on mortgages, etc.) And the government just wants votes (not the health of america) so we're essentially in this cycle of pissing on a forest fire. The whole damn thing is about to come unglued, and unless we cut the fat and SOME people suffer (like it or not -- that's you and me, not the fat cat bankers that screwed us) we're just prolonging an even bigger crash. Just wait until this summer when we have a recession, record unemployment, record debt and gas prices skyrocketing (we all saw last week that the next big scam has been hatched) Things will start getting REAL bad then and we'll hit the "reset" button again. It's funny how GM really is serving as an example of what is happening in the economy over all. Gas prices started their nosedive, they have too much debt and too many mouths to feed, they can't get financing and at the same time they're rapidly reaching a point at which they're no longer feasible to save.
  3. True... I really don't understand why we need a seperate division to do SS and V vehicles anyway... Why not make those a part of the package from day one? As for Pontiac; HSV and OPC can take care of them. I do think GM needs to go ahead and green light a CTS-V and the Z28 though. (They're done... Why not make a profit on the work? Then again... Zeta and the UV8 were done too, so go figure )
  4. I still think it should be kept and reduced to niche status... Then again, maybe with this spin off, GM envisions reacquiring Saturn some day. (a la Delphi)
  5. But there is a market. ALLL..... subjective..... It's done and it needs to come to market... Typical liberal... Limiting choice and freedom, while pushing his opinion on all of us. (Opinions suck, right?) [go ahead, ban me ]
  6. I'm not sure either... But they claimed to be at a stable 21% RETAIL in January. *shrugs* (And, I didn't thing Saab, Saturn and Hummer accounted for more than a point or two combined. Now Pontiac, on the other hand....)
  7. Ford mothballed SVT and it never returned (despite the cute badging trick on the new Shelby)
  8. The z28 is done... GM just needs to produce it. (Not that I think they will) But there is no engineering work left. Re: GM disbanding high performance. I appreciate that the engineers will be used other places. But. Not surprising... It's just one more reason for me not to care anymore. GM now is what GM was in the 90s... half-assed mainstream crap that will fall flat on it's face.
  9. I hope GM holds onto Saab. As for Pontiac, that's what it should've been all along... As long as they do it right.
  10. Wow... What a horrible picture. And FOR GODS SAKE GM DITCH THE 'GRANDMA CADDY" WHEELS!!!!!
  11. Oh, and I forgot one of my favs: Futurama (For some reason I couldn't edit my last post)
  12. A 1995 Monte Carlo with a chrome Dale Earnhardt #3 badge? You're an okay guy after all! LOL
  13. I wonder if this was in fact the production version of the Olds Recon concept? (Because Olds WAS supposed to get a small crossover) Hmmm.....
  14. Yeah... I don't really get the mindset behind this new Z/28... IMO, the Z/28 should be to Camaro what the Z06 is to Corvette. (A brash, high performance track car) If they want to make a GT500 competitor (READ: ZR1 style Camaro) call it ZL1 or something and make a very limited run.

  16. +1 A co-worker used to always tell me that I reminded her of Red. So one day this past year I decided to sit and watch an episode. I've been a huge fan since. +1 I didn't get into Family Guy until well after it was cancelled. Too bad the new seasons are such a let down. (The fun of Family Guy was how random and meaningless/universal it was... The new episodes try to hard to prove a point or push an agenda. If I want to see someone prove a point, I'll watch South Park. They're much better at it anyway) I still haven't watched a "current" Scrubs. Even the new ones I never catch when they actually air. I used to bitch a lot when they dominated Comedy Central, until I actually sat down and watched an episode all the way through. Man... It's been a while since I've seen that one! I remember when it aired on TV and I would watch it with my dad (Along with Night Court, which I enjoyed) Another one that I love and didn't get into until it was 'over' Some others: Seinfeld... Friends... King of Queens... Grounded For Life... The list goes on.
  17. Nope. It all goes back to perception and style. Like I told you in the Saab thread, style and image account for a lot. This is one of the main reasons that the Malibu sells better. (And it's that way throughout the market, otherwise you wouldn't have successful 'duplicate' brands like Audi, Acura and Infiniti) Different interior, different suspension, different sound quality, different styling... In that description, you also just described/highlighted the main differences between a Lincoln LS and a Mustang. (I know that's an exaggeration. But the point is valid: the two cars are NOT the same)
  18. That made me raise an eyebrow as well... For some reason, I'm starting to warm up to Epsilon (Of course, I had heard that Epsilon II was engineered from the beginning to house the now cancelled UV8)
  19. First Olds... Now Saturn... Buick is next!
  20. Gee... I dunno... Maybe it could be the COMPLETE and TOTAL lack of marketing. Or maybe it could be that Saturn only has 400 dealers in comparison to Buick/Pontiac's 500,000 (sarcasm) Why are GM execs so stupid? Seriously? It's not hard at all to see what remains BROKEN (and will remain broken) with General Motors and it's rich plethora of divisions. I guess Buick will be the next division to get the "GM bait and switch" of a whole new product line up and prospects of world domination,[bait] with only 2 years to get the job done.[switch] First Oldsmobile, now Saturn, next Buick. (To hell with Pontiac, GM didn't even give them the 'bait' in the first place. They've just worked feverishly over the last decade to destroy that division's product line) After Buick, we'll see Cadillac on the skids... Mark my words (The american public wants a slow, painful death for what this country was. And GM is the poster child for that)
  21. Pontiac SD But a lot of their engines were numbers as well
  22. I still fail to see why this isn't the plan for GMNA. Use the same plan, except the three divisions should be Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick/GMC/Pontiac (And hopefully Saturn or Saab via GME)
