We use the Foreman a lot... Mostly for Chicken, but occasionally for burgers. It's usually turkey burgers though, so they're dry anyway. Honestly, I'd rather have the 'dry' meat since grease really effs up my stomach.

Too bad it's the ONLY Opel they'll actually buy. And, FWIW, american's buy the G6 in droves as well. Doesn't mean it's a success (apparently to GM, anyway)
-
LOL... They just don't get it. It's no wonder GM is in such a bind now... Zeta (which is viable until at least 2016) has been developed TWICE and then scraped... The UV8 has been developed and scraped... This has now been developed and scraped... Where does it end? I guess GM thinks they don't need the engine to be competitive... This is actually what A LOT of Silverado/Sierra faithful were holding out for I believe (at least, my family was) Either that, or the government doesn't think GM needs to build trucks

+1 I'm loving watching "Rome" burn... And I'd love to throw some gas on the flames if I could.

LMFAO... Well, one need not be bright ( no brighter than tha author at least) to see exactly how this author feels. Okay, so 1) all that talk the media has been spewing out of it's ass about GM having 8 different divisions that sell the same cars must've been in naught, I guess? and 2) We're REALLY going to make this the 'lead bitch' over a difference of 56K cars in a 13 MILLION vehicle market? (Who cares about Honda, they're not the one's eating GM's lunch right now. If GM positions itself to better combat Toyota, it'll have Honda licked anyway) Yet, according to Harbour, GM has had some of the most efficient plants in the world for a decade now? We're basing this solely on +/- 1 million responses (if CR was lucky) from a VERY dedicated reader base, not the market itself, in a 13 million vehicle market. (Yes, I do realize that the average american is stupid enough NOT to figure all of that out on their own) And we ALL know that the design and engineering of a car hasn't changed AT ALL in 101 years, right?!?! Trucks = no consumer visibility when 55% of the market sold last year was trucks? Hmmm... Not to mention, trucks can benefit the most and make the most sesne for this technology. As for the buses... Nah... Those don't matter at ALL. It's not like they run their engines in stop and go, urban traffic for 12 hours a day or anything. And the "average person" can afford a Prius? (as a primary means of transportation) I think not. Except, the Cobalt XFE gets 36 MPG... And I love how he called the estimated 100mpg rating of the Volt (READ: the average urbanite will NEVER need gas again) "so-called... flashy" The Volt will never get the respect it deserves... It's too innovative for "an american company" so the media will botch the article (like this) to reduce it's significance in the eyes of the consumer. Last time I checked, GM was still the top selling automaker in america and ALMOST, after YEARS of domination, the top selling automaker in the world. What esle do you want? Eliminate dealers... Like it said it was going to do 4 months ago.

This is what makes me nervous about getting my CCW... I mean, not that I would ever want to shoot anyone anyway. But in the event that I felt my life threatened and I acted, I'd be scared of the possible consequences. I know here in NC, it is legal for anyone to carry so long as it's visible and it isn't in a building or area that prohibits guns. CCW is a whole different ball game though.
-
So basically... You can carry a gun to 'scare people' and that's it? I mean, since you can't shoot to kill or shoot to injure.

:rotflmao: As I've mentioned numerous times; China has been at war with us for years now. Economic warfare. Now that the U.S. has been broken, it wouldn't surprise me if they actually tried something (and succeeded) But nah... We don't need military OR manufacturing. -

Which car led to the death of Oldsmobile
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to 01Malibu's topic in Heritage Marques
Apples to oranges... The redesigned Cadillac (and Chevrolet and Saturn emblems) were all VERY similar to what they replaced. The Aurora emblem as well as the new Oldsmobile emblem wasn't. (Think about it; we're talking about ignorant consumers here -- not to sound more arrogant than I usually do) -

Actually, the second gen was supposed to be the Antares (below the Aurora -- Eighty Eight replacement) but was slotted into the Aurora spot when the 1st gen Aurora platform replacement (can't remember the code... H-Body maybe?) was nixed. -

Unless GM wises up and realizes the strength of their brands and how to market them (niche or not), probably. You know... I caught a special on Budweiser last night and how it's parent company had to adjust to fragmentation of the market. (The same over all trend that GM has been unsuccessfully battling, yet SHOULD be able to handle with no problem since it had 9 divisions) I couldn't help but draw comparisons between that company and GM, especially on the marketing side. I'm thinking to myself; "So THIS is what a great american icon looks like if it and it's various brands are managed properly) Sad... -
Why Buick instead of Pontiac again? (Unless it's a case of ROI or volume restrictions) I really hope GM doesn't have to give up Opel though.

Which car led to the death of Oldsmobile
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to 01Malibu's topic in Heritage Marques
1st gen Aurora... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the car, but the way GM handled the marketing of it and the Intrigue (No names on the cars, no ads, new Oldsmobile symbol that no one knew, etc.) killed the division. It was too much change and not enough info. As usual, GM did a piss-poor job of informing the consumer that 1) anything aside from appearance was different and 2) that this was actually a GM vehicle with merit. I also think the UAW had a HUGE hand in killing Oldsmobile. From what I recall, Oldsmobile was showing some real signs of life around 1998, but when the strike crippled GM, Oldsmobile was hit the hardest and demand NEVER recovered because the buzz and buyers had passed the division up by the time supply caught up. (a la new Malibu, in some ways) It's too bad GM phased out Oldsmobile.... It, like ALL other aspects of GM, had such GREAT potential that the company cannot see for it's own collective ignorance. What's really bad is that GM failed to learn from it's mistakes as SATURN is now in the very same situation... Excellent products, failed leadership. MARK MY WORDS: Buick will be the next victim of this ignorance. GM will change the line up overnight, forget to tell the customer that anything has happened and then abandon the division while they scratch their heads and say "It just isn't providing the return that we expected." This also shows the realtive STRENGTH of Pontiac, in that the brand has been able to outlast both of these divisions with 50% of the investment from parent company GM. (Yet, for some reason, it's getting it's balls cut off now) -

Used GM's of course... But, besides that; 1) Ford or 2) Chrysler... As far as imports go... I could see myself in a BMW or maybe an Audi... A friend of mine (who wanted a CTS coupe, until they delayed it) just bought a new S5. Very sexy car!!! -
Why you gotta break balls, man? It reminds me more of a "melted down" version of the C6 or better yet, the C3. BTW, GM; take note... This is what GOOD photography looks like in comparison to YOUR photography.

WHAT CAR STARTED THE DEATH OF SATURN?
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to regfootball's topic in Heritage Marques
The Ion started it... What really sealed the deal though, IMO is when GM added the Aura and Sky Outlook instead of introducing the Ashtray (Astra) first. The buyer goes to Saturn for small cars, right? Why not ease the shock by introducing a small car that carries the new "mission" first. Not to mention, the Astra was kind of outdated by the time it got here. Instead though, we have the brilliance at GM having a showroom that houses a $5 Ion, a 30K crossover, a sports car with more sex appeal than even most BMWs and a midsize that looks the part, but really might not have been. I brought this point up a few years ago... GM needs to redefine all of it's divisions (one at a time) all at once, much like Nissan did with their renaissance. You can't introduce one model, wait 3 years and replace a woefully outdated model, then introduce another model as the first model is now becoming outdated. The consumer doesn't have the attention span for that. -
Wow... It's a melted Corvette! (I do like it though... Derivative as it is...)
