  1. I am trying to move away from seeing the same 12 cars in the Dream car garage threads... That being said, were I to actually buy a 6 cyl car with my own money...\ 911 Cayman ....and that would be it. DB5 is nice but very pricey, like seeing them at shows, but would not want to risk one driving it hard. MK 4 Supra is nice, but pricey...and the F and F thing... Tired of old school muscle cars in a way, I ahve loved them for 45 plus years but really, really, really ready for something different. Jeep Grand Cherokee would be my first choice for an SUV in a larger category, but I am not much of an SUV guy.
  2. By the way, Steve Fisher, the guy who painted that 55 Chevy, also painted my 55 Chevy. I miss that car!
  3. You have kids, they might want one some day. Also agree with Reg, Focus outside of Titanium or ST trim is back of the pack. Will probably never own one but I do love the ST.
  4. Agreed. I understand all three choices, I do disagree with Reg Football and think new Imprezza belongs here with the strong resale, upgraded interior, unique AWD system, and decent packaging.
  5. Midsize SUV, Jeep Grand Cherokee. Are there any other midsize SUV as runner up in my book...no, nothing close. Large SUV Going to cheat and go with the sister vehicle to the GC, Dodge Durango. Yes, it is cheating...do I care...no, I really don't care... Only thing that could be a runner up IMHO would be a Jaguar F pace if I had a crap ton of money.
  6. Compact Mazda 3... Assuming you wanted a non sporty DD...for a sport DD GTI no questions asked. Civic, Cruze, Imprezza would all be strong runners up. Were it allowed to be a little pricey...Golf R or Golf Alltrack. Compact SUV, Subaru Forester, HR V would be strong runner up. Midsize car, Chevy Malibu Premium with the 2.0 With Mazda 6 very strong runner up. Large Car, Charger R/T... Impala 3.6 strong runner up.
  7. I can see this from the tech point of view....especially I am a father of five kids...
  8. It does really beat the fun to drive car, the Mazda 3, in interior quietness. The new Subaru Imprezza is a very good car in this segment also.
  9. The Jetta is really nicely packaged...were I to be buying a new smaller sedan, it would rank near the top of the list. We are both atypical car buyers... Your critique of the Cruze is not far off of what my wife said when we test drove one though. And the Chevrolet salesman rather sheepishly agreed with her when she handed back the keys.
  10. Saw a 79 Delta 88 two door and a 76 Buick 4 door hard top, white, both over lunch when I went out for a burger.... It is a phoned in hatch Back....I phoned in for a Pizza and then a Cruze hatch with some young woman driving it delivered directly to my front door. Could have used both more pepperoni and onion though... Would have preferred a 64 Pontiac with a Tri Power....but I might be waiting awhile for the pizza in that case... (Just kidding on the Cruze hatch, interested in some spirited debate!) Agreed!
  11. Jag E type, #4... Also, to have as a modern daily, Acura TLX SH-AWD for those Ohio winters.
  12. Actual top 5... 1968 Pontiac Firebird Sprint convertible. 1953 Chevrolet Corvette 55 Mercedes Benz 300 SL
  13. Actually i can still bust you on this one as the car in Ferris Buellers day off was a kit car and not an Actual Ferrari...(J/K) Nice list!
  14. Awesome about your uncle...! 1953 Pace Car Convertible 1953 ford pick up truck....Gorgeous! That particular truck has an OHV 6, Mine would ahve a Flathead v8 but be similar...
  15. This is quite frankly amazing news.
  16. 1947 Ford Sportsman https://youtu.be/lv8IahOrmAs Pictures of my final two cars, 1953 Ford pick up truck, and 1953 Ford Indy Pace car coming soon...
  17. Car #3 is a 39 ford Two door sedan...Grandfather had one, my dad come home in the Hospital in this car...Grandfather bought car November of 38 IIRC, Dad was born January of 39, so car was almost new... Yes it did go down...! Car #4 would be a Custom 39-40 Ford convertible...very traditional style with a Flathead... https://youtu.be/FeQyqgfiZZ0 https://youtu.be/SVtfOGLwSQQ Link is to a model...but 1942 Ford staff car... https://youtu.be/u5buA0xpH-k
  18. Car in link has more of the look I would go for... http://www.hotrod.com/articles/1209sr-stephen-moses-1932-ford-b-400/ Car #2...33-34 Ford Touring Car...
  19. OK...My Ford list... It will be all Flathead era cars to balance out the pesky modern stuff... 1932 Ford B400 Convertible sedan, the rarest of the 1932 Ford Body styels...32 was the first year for the Flat head V8... Street Rod... Only i would set up the flathead in the B4oo with Tri-power...
  20. Yes, please!
  21. I love those old tow trucks....they used bumper lift Trucks at Columbus Motor Speedway, which just closed last fall.
  22. I now have four lists to do, and two dream car garages I want to put up myself...
  23. Yeah, paid for and ran well, would have been huge to get two more years out of her..
