Fiat News: Marchionne Considers Spinning Off Jeep and Ram
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
One of the best things one can do is take hands totally off and watch something fail...difficult to do but...letting people fail for themselves is often productive. And we will have no shortage of failure.- 33 replies

Really down with everything but the FJ cruiser...

That has frustrated quite a few people from what I have heard...Iaccoca was quite outspoken about Ford Bureaucracy IIRC

The big issue that he has is that those brands ahve zero equity, or perhaps negative equity, here in America. Lincoln can regain it's market equity because it is attached to Ford and has an 80 year plus history of selling the Lincoln name here....the Italian brands have none of that.- 33 replies

Would absolutely love to see that in person.

Ohhh yes....and let's not forget the 1970's full sized Thunderbird, before the downsized Birds of the late 1970's. If we only had modern fuel injection in the 1970's and some ways to make the bigger birds more efficient...we could have had premium Bids through the eighties and 90's, rather than the cheaper/more austere birds we got. Late 1960's was a good Era for Thunderbirds as well...love me some 69! The grown up cougar vibe is strong here.

...I am starting to fall hard for the current Conti, after panning it so hard. Something about what you said about a car with pampering luxury... Current conti, did not like it because I did not consider the design very athletic...but that is what I am starting to really like about it...it is a car that is not afraid to go its own way and to hell with what everyone else thinks...kind of subtle and bold in ford/Lincolns approach... ...and for the price, you could save enough money to eat out at a lot of nice restaurants with Albert...not that you couldn't afford that now...but if one small luxury could lead to another...

That would be fantastic....were I to be ten years younger, i would love to own a Ducati. Insane people rarely are....(ducks from wrench thrown from Montreal...just kidding bro!)

Really nice lineup! I thought of a Ford Crown Vic myself, both for the thread and for an inexpensive family car.

He will buy them as rolling shells and electrify them, easy done...

...which are made to be broken here anyways... Hellcat would be a very nice choice, Charger or Challenger? -
...and I was making a joke based on the lack of sentient responses to rational arguments that caused them to be no longer visible...

Just post more pics of that Gorgeous Torino in your profile pic and we can overlook a lot of bad...but please...Torino pics!

Yes, i know that is a full blown track car, but something with that vibe...

Love all of your choices. For me... 05-06 Mustang GT, Daily. 1970-1997 Ford F150 Lifted and running a 460, 38-40 inch tire, ugly and crusty but not rusty, built to run hard. 1 Ton Silverado diesel drew cab set up to tow, so I could haul a boat, move woodworking tools, tow a camper, or intimidate stray dogs and small children. Miata set up for Autocross.

Ohhhh yes...that is a LOT of car for the money.

We have zero issues with debate in good faith here...it is the people who come here to troll and find a personal attention fix that are the problem.

Fiat News: Marchionne Considers Spinning Off Jeep and Ram
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
I can see the spin off thing for sure. it may be the only way jeep survives...and that would be bad for Toledo here in Ohio if that plant closed... True, not faulting them for this, but they are pretty much out of the passenger car amrket unless you want a retro muscle car. Again, they are followers and not leaders...- 33 replies
