Clinging to the idea that the world is a certain way and always should remain that way precludes the possibility of positive growth and change.

So we want some outside agency to intervene in our automotive lifestyle to ensure greater freedom to enjoy our cars...seems like some sort of contradiction to me...

What have we done? 2016 Malibu 1LT 1.5t
A Horse With No Name replied to regfootball's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
I can agree, mailing stupid high MPG in the TDI and will hate to sell it back in some ways. 57.9 MPG on mostly highway recently. Would not buy the Malibu based on 1.5 T. -
I Just Drove a 200 For the Time

It doesn't float my boat as I am more of a sports car kind of guy, but it has some decent qualities. -
Actually according to my local VW dealer they are not even planning on reselling my TDI in the USA once it is repaired, supposedly everything is being shipped to South America once the emissions modification is complete. Dealers are supposed to be able to buy back cars from VW corporate, but they do not intend to do so.

Indeed! Not a bad thing, as much of what is written on the internet is pure drivel.

...and there is a reason I want my next car to be a WRX and not a 442 Olds.... -

Would rather see the newer performance cars go head to head on the dragstrip/Road Course/auto X...

Will not stone you at all. If anything, we are too politically correct in accepting other peoples choices. There are lots of cars people here like that I really would not want to own. ...and I do not see any of the rest here racing out to embrace the 50 and 60 year old stuff I remember and love. Different strokes for different folks. -

I like the original 240/260Z cars also. Probably because I sued to do a lot of SCCA type stuff and the 240/260 were just kind of a legend in their own way in amateur racing for such a long time. The 300TT was the last of the Z cars where they really pushed the envelope. they kind of cheeped out and did not show a lot of creativity with the 350Z or 370Z. Jeffery, my sons friend/my friend/ has a 300TT modified, that is a highly scary car to drive or ride in. -

The only problem in owning one is that from what I understand many of the unique parts (mechanical bits) are no longer available from Ford. -

Not a wonderful pic....and I think we might be talking about two slightly different shades of Teal, both of which are fantastic.... -

I can understand that....we had a gorgeous Mustang Notchback that color that showed up to a bunch of our autocross events...car was properly caged and had a really, really nasty small block... Of all of the cars I remember from that time period in my life...that is one of my favorites. ' -
it would be fun, but mentally and emotionally i am kind fo ready for the next thing. Wish GM would make a small sedan with the power train of the bolt....but that is kind of unlikely.

Driving them until they drop has always worked as a philosophy for me. Personally, for a family truckster, I like a lot of things in the Jeep lineup.

And if I had to narrow that down to two... E46 M3 and 4th gen Supra. God only knows what I would choose to do if I had to pick between those two choices....but they would be my top two on your list. E46 M3 is the chariot of the Gods IMHO. Supra with the 2JZ is right there with it. If I had to narrow this down to just one, it would be the 300 Twin turbo...something about that car.... Although given the Cobra R....I can't narrow it down to just one...please send me the R also.... -

Please do! BMW M1 would just be the bomb, did not think of that but it makes total sense! If I had to narrow this down, values of the cars not withstanding.... 1970 Pontiac GTO E46 M3 Supra Jag F type S Terminator Cobra -

The Mustang I figured would look best kind of a darker Purple...kind of like the MOPAR plum crazy color, only a little bit darker. That shade of teal was my second choice, fantastic color, was not sure if it would look a little bit washed out in bright sunlight on screen. It will be really interesting to see what everyone else comes up with. It is also making me feel a little bit old but not in a bad sort of way!), as I make so many vintage picks with these threads and a lot of other people make much more modern choices. Thank you so much for your contribution, Frisky! -

Your list is somewhat similar to mine....but i actually like your list much better.... I picked a slightly lifted Silverado 4wd 4 door that I blacked out some of the chrome on for Hank....just because I could not see him driving a luxury car. He seemed more like a truck/SUV kind of a guy. For Anthony I kind of saw a Neon SRT 4, but in car conscious LA, you are absolutely right, BMW, Euro..... For coach I wanted something that suggested solidness and stability, even if his life is a little bit unstable, so I chose a Ford Flex....figured the Flex might have a nice on screen presence....but dammit if you are not right again, the older Benz is a much better choice! i wanted some screen presence for my cars, so I chose two older Jeeps for my next two choices, Hector I put into an older Jeep Cherokee, the vintage full sized one... Again, Ram is a much better choice, probably much more modern and what he would really actually drive... Colin I also put into a jeep, debated between a newer Wrangler and an older jeep CJ8 Scrambler....kind of wanted something that could be driven doors off in a few scenes.... Hollywood seems to love convertibles so much the better for filming scenes when people are actually driving them....but yes, EVO....that would be a fantastic choice!
