  1. Reasonind by idiotic analogy won't get you anywhere. The 11 year old probably couldn't build a plastic kit car from Wal-Mart, much less a real car. GM is building some fantastic cars and selling them in the worst economy since the depression. And your point again is what exactly? Chris
  2. Dind, Ding, Ding, we have a winner. Chris
  3. The CTS is IMHO one of the neatest cars of the post WWII era from any continent, be it Asia, Europe or the US. The Genesis sedan doesn't even come close. The Genesis is night and day better than the Amanti, but so is a Schwinn in a rainstorm. Chris
  4. You'll probably hate this idea, but google "clown shoe coupe" for the BMW 3 series. They are really kind of funky looking, but very different. One of the guys in one of my car clubs has one, really kind of a neat car IMHO. But again, maybe more my speed than yours. Chris
  5. Corvette is an order of magnitude better in the suspension department when driven hard. I love the GTO, but I really love the idea of a C5 Z06. Esp. since Camino has already had a GTO. Chris
  6. I think perhaps the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus will help the domestics sell more small cars in Import happy areas. Getting a bad feeling about the Cruze, looks good...but not sure it's going to turn the marketing tide in GM's favor. Toyota does really well in the south, I lived in Atlanta for a year and a half and Toyota does really well there. They are also picking up in the Carolinas where my parents live. I would love to talk to a really good marketing insider who knew why certain cars sold well in some areas and not in others. Chris
  7. Depends. Germany France Great Britain Japan etc. a lot of countries have more central planning than we do. They seem to get along just fine. But Camino, I am with you, I think California and a few of the things they do are a little bit "out there' to say the least. Chris
  8. And maybe and maybe and maybe and maybe. maybe the moon should ahve been made of blu cheese and the earth should have been created in 9 days by a giant supernatural house cat with seven claws on each paw. Be grateful that Cadillac has some really good, creative product that they are building and that the future is actually looking up for the wreath and crest. Even if your a Toyota Humper from Toyota Nation it's better for you that Cadillac Stay around. Without competition, carmakers tend to get really lazy. Chris
  9. This begs the question. How do you define Honda buyers as idiots blind to reality? The same remark could be made of GM buyers, Ford buyers, BMW buyers, Benz buyers et al. Chris
  10. Would be nice if they did better in Houston. So much for people in Republican areas driving domestics. I think a big part of the problem is the gap GM seems to ahve with Hispanics and Females. I would love to see some actual numbers on both demographics, but GM may have some work to do in both population segments.
  11. Interesting how mustang sales for the month are steady with last year but overall is way down over last year. Chris
  12. ...and I stand corrected. Chris
  13. How does Chrysler not even care??? Your sounding more irrational than the Kool-Aide drinkers here, who are starting to sound plenty irrational as it were. New Jeep is well recieved and up in sales. Other Jeep product is Moving Ram is a good truck The RWD Stuff is good. They just need smaller cars, which Fiat will give them. Can't blame Chryco for being raped by Daimer and having no fresh product in the lower price ranges. Chris
  14. Who said the Genesis was better than the G8? And when I said the Genesis was selling better than other small sporty specialty cars, I meant cars like the RX-8 and the S2000, which Honda has now discontinued. At the same time, it is not an apples to apples comparo as Camaro has 35 plus years of heritage and 8 years of no camaro sales-pent up demand. I think Camaro will rightfully keep the number one spot. Chris
  15. I really like the idea of a C5 Z06. Like that even better than the GTO and the Mustang, actually now that I think about it. Chris
  16. We'll have to agree to disagree once again, reg-I hate the Quest, Odysea is Much better and even Sienna IMHO. Chris
  17. Which is why the Volt is such a make or break product for GM. Actually this brings up an interesing point. We talked about a smaller lighter Camaro with the Turbo 4 from the Solstice/Sky. Stopped by the local Hyundai dealer on the way home from work as they had 4 Genesis coupes sitting out front. They are selling every turbo 4 Genesis they can get their hands on. Would be cool if a Turbo 4 kept the Camaro in production, IMHO. That being said, kind of sad to go to the Hyundai delaer. They were cutting the converter off of a nice Black Barn Door Burban that was a CFC casualty, getting ready to tow it to the junkyard. Hope those poeple like their new Sonota or whatever. Chris
  18. Lexus SC is a class leading clunker for it's price point. And it shows in its sales. Not bad from a mechanical standpoint, but bad from a design standpoint. Interesting that Scion is down 50% plus. Haven't I been saying for a couple of years that Scion is a one hit wonder? Methinks Scion will die about 2012-2015, if not sooner. Chris
  19. Thanks, may get some for the wife's car. Just switched both cars back to Mobil 1, love the stuff. Flying J truckstops have some goot Oil sales on Shell Rotella T. It is used by a lot of diesel guys but I've run it in gasser motors with no problems for years. Chris
  20. Genesis is selling more than a lot of other smaller sporty cars, such as the 370Z and the RX-8 and so forth. Think this one is going to be a winner for Hyundai! Chris
  21. Glad to see Buick up, also glad to see some positive sales momentum. Chris
  22. Gee, the Sentra is down 23 Percent just like every other small car. (other than the Sebring which is abysmal.) This one we can explain by it being the worlds crappiest small car. Chris
  23. I actually predict MINI will be the next brand to hang itself. They have the Clubman, which isn't selling all that great, they are bringing out the Crossman, a Crossover, and a goofy coupe concept is in the works. They are going to water down the Cooper idea and make it a joke imho. Also, they have a cold start problem (a loud metallic knock) that they cannot seem to get under control. Hope they can pull it together. Too bad the BMW 1 series doesn't sell any better. Apparently i am about 1 of 7 people in North America that seems to like it. Chris
  24. Kia and Hyundai really know marketing, and it shows. Chris
