  1. It would indeed, although everyone I've ever talked to that has owned a British car has tried to talk me out of buying one. Lined up a nice TR-4 that I was thinking about, as well as an MGB-GT...and then spent an hour over breakfast with a couple of members in my local Miata club who basically talked me out of it. Guy still has the B-GT, and the TR-4 is still there, as is a vintage spitfire, and I found a good fairly inexpensive Healy 3000 the other day...life is just too short. I think if I get a vintage car, though, it will be a well preserved original 240Z. Chris
  2. I'd settle for a beach in Tahiti myself. Chris
  3. ...but worth the wait. The Cooper is a car you will want to own for years, unlike the Prius I think. Suprised they didn't "deduct' for all of the liberal bumper stickers on the Prius when you offered it in trade. Chris
  4. ...but rather than a 911 Targa, I'd rather have this. http://www.mat.fi/n_index.php?nav=gallery_...llycar&g=13 Chris
  5. You and I think wayyy to much alike. Back when I had my 66 Fastback, I had a cash offer on the Fastback at the same time a really clean (silver, 1976, low mile) 911 Targa came up for sale. But getting back to cars, go for the Cooper S. I have a real feeling that I will be buying one when the economy picks up a little bit. Chris
  6. Methinks the 53 in Savannah. Chris
  7. Or the trunk of 68's B-59. Seriously, though, I love your wagon too. Think of it this way...Cars are like a woman's breasts...a man should sample several sizes to be properly happy. Chris
  8. To me, the GTO, Firebird, Your Pontiacs, and the MINI are all cool. I am just scared out of my skull right now at having the choice of Accord Vs. Camry in about 8 years if things don't get any better. GTO's, both old and new, are pure automotive sex on wheels for me. Chris
  9. That damned Datsun held up pretty well for what it was. Chris
  10. Get one of each, they are small. Chris
  11. Great Idea! Methinks a second life is for those with no first life... Chris
  12. Sounds like you and the BF need to cuddle up on the couch with a good movie and a good bottle of wine. Chris
  13. Macon is a nice place to live, but it is HOT. It is in the center of the state, and it is lower in elevation than Atlanta..so it gets ungodly hot in the summer. But yeah, it's scary to think of doing anything with the economy in such a funk. Chris
  14. ...and yes, Kara has great legs. Plus she give me a discount on coffee. Chris
  15. Actually, sadly, I think a lot of people will be looking at the sex industry as a source of employment. Chris
  16. One of these days when your in the Buckeye state, I need to come up, buy you dinner, and lust over your Mustangs. Chris
  17. I had a job lined up in Savannah, but couldn't unload my house here in Ohio. Savannah is beautiful. Biggest problem is that there is almost no middle class there...everyone is either loaded or poor. Plus the hurricane thing doesn't do much for me. But Savannah is a great place to be. I lived for over a year in Atlanta and moved back to Ohio, Atlanta was a bigger city than I wanted to live in. But I liked the climate. Chris
  18. I'm not so sure. The TC is better looking, but the Focus has better driving dynamics, Nsync, it's American made, parts are cheaper, etc. Also I like the interior layout better (much better actually) on the Focus. Also really feel like the Focus is a better built car than the TC. Were I buying a car today, I would buy the Focus if I were forced to choose only between the Focus and TC. Thankfully, in a couple of years...I am going to spell relief in the form of Solstice, GTI, or MINI Cooper S. But seriously, I'd rather drive a 5 year old Focus than a new TC, thank you. Chris
  19. Oh, and Camino...don't get too down. You have a barn full of cool project vehicles. Chris
  20. Damn, Camino, your not kidding. One of our Miata Club members, Darrel, went with his Wife to look at a new GMC truck at the Pontiac/GMC dealer next to the Mazda dealer where we hold our Miata Club meetings. The Pontiac/GMC dealer has sold 2 cars all month...they usually sell that many in a day. Darrel is afraid to buy a vehicle because of the economy. He's not the only one holding back. We are about to loose ANOTHER local Ford dealer, and we just lost yet another Chevy dealership. Several electrical contracting businesses here have gone under or are about to go under. We have work right now but it is slim pickins. One other company that almost always has work is looking at laying everyone off in about 4 weeks if things don't change. My wife works with college students to help them get financial aid. Financing for student loans is getting tough too. Kara, the girl at the coffeeshop (who has great legs!) is a college grad with a great personality and a great GPA...and the best job she can get is slinging java. The wife and kids are watching an American Girls movie about the great depression and how one girl and her family survived it. I'm not so sure we aren't headed back. Chris
  21. I myself am a big fanboi also of everything VW seems to be doing lately. For me, the three car companies that seem to get it are GM, Mazda, and VW...Ford seems to be coming along also. Everyone else just seems kinda lost. Chris
  22. A bread machine can be a little tricky, I prefer good bakery bread myself. Chris
  23. Not to mention about everything else in it's price range. The only advan. it has...it is cheap. 17k vs about 22k for a civic. I would spend the extra 5k myself. Chris
  24. The Avanti was always one of my favourites...glad to see it awaken. Chris
  25. Really crappy now here in Columbus...I could use moving to Georgia right now, I think. Chris
