  1. I'm waiting to hear how since the Democrats have held congress for two years that this is the fault of a democratic congress. I've been going door to door for the Obama Campaign, and was told that Abu Girab (sp?) was the fault of congressional democrats who railroaded Bush into torturing people. The reality denial just never ends. Chris
  2. Amazingly, a trillion dollars later, the American population is too stupid to realize that it is largely republican deregulation that has gotten us here in the first place. 1930's, Deregulated banks collapse 1980's, Deregulated Savings and loans fall aprt. 1990's, deregulated utilites fall apart. 2008, deregulated/unregulated investment banking fails. Part of being intelligent is learning from your mistakes. I think my dog learns faster than certain folks who call for "deregulation" and call for an unregulated buisiness climate. Chris
  3. I don't think three trillion in costs, a planet full of people who hate us, 4000 dead, a demoralized military, and 4 more years of the same if McCain is elected have sunk in yet. Methinks the American population is none too brite... Chris
  4. Max Revenue isn't the problem here. The problem is massive deficits and McCains ability to do anything about them. We need to tax so that we can balance the budget sand stop the bleeding, period. McCains plan is jnust another Bush-esque giveaway to the rich. Chris
  5. Income redistribution...so it's wrong to tax a multimillionare so that some poor latino boy in San Antonio can get a decent lunch, or that his single mother can get decent section 8 housing, or that he can get health care when he is sick...? If this is socialism I am all for it. Chris
  6. Since when (Regan, Bush Sr, Bush Jr) has that slowed down a Republican president? Chris
  7. This is why the middle class has shrunken since Reagan took over. Sorry, no dice, bad thinking. Chris
  8. ...or better yet, get the dems to take both houses and the presidency and end the last 8 years of Republican leadership. Chris
  9. No, it really doesn't. Actually the person that I blame most for our nations current problems is actually Ronald Reagan for promoting this silly stuff in the first place. The idiocy of McCain and Co. is just a further manifestation of Reagans stupidity. Chris
  10. +1 Chris
  11. They will be real happy about their votes in 2012 when we are 2 trillion (or more) further in debt. Chris
  12. I have family in Lockport, nice city to live in... Chris
  13. +1. Actually I know a lot of life long Republicans voting for Obama. Chris
  14. ...or if we had a tax plan that kept buisiness here, and actually educated people and spent money on our own infrastructure rather than on a mindless war in Iraq that has killed over 4000 Americans and seriously injured 30,000...we might have a strong enough economy that we wouldn't need a mortgage bailout. Chris
  15. Imagine if we had just,(as someonesaid, maybe you Oldsmoboi) listened to Carter back in the 1970's we wouldn't have spent another three trilion dollars invading Iraq because we'd have other sources of energy and would be conserving. I am more than sure that McCain would have no problem whatsoever borrowing antoher three trillion for another 6 or 8 years of mindless war. Sad thing is, for three trillion dollars we could ahve built a rail network, gotten biofuels, gotten wind power, etc. Imagine what we can piss away over the next 8 years if McCain is elected... Chris
  16. Which is why I'm voting for Obama. Reagan, a president that deserves a grade of F and is actually one of our worst presidents ever...highest deficits ever to that point. Bush Sr. = Worse deficits than reagan Bush Jr = worse deficits yet. The idea that any modern Republican will reduce deficits is just pure fantasy. Democrats tax and spend, Republicans borrow and spend. Chris
  17. Given ten more years, Saturn, Scion, Suzuki and a few other carmaking names will be gone or irrelevant. Chris
  18. Given how badly the republicans have screwed things up in this country, I'm suprised more people haven't given McCain same treatment. Chris
  19. The I-6 is a great idea. My 57 Bel Air hardtop was originally an I-6 car, and lots of cool cars (BMW"S, then original 240Z etc) are I-6. Chris
  20. That Buick convertible is just awesome-the 68-72 intermediates were some of the best cars GM ever built. I would LOVE to see them back in production, but that will never happen. Chris
  21. I'm just thankful the whole ricer thing seems to ahve died in central Ohio. Chris
