  1. Let's all remember the Grand Prix as we should...perhaps as a red 67 ragtop driving down the blue ridge parkway in North Carolina...
  2. Focus is a damned good product. We need to actually cut areas other than transportation to bring our energy usage into line. We can all drive SMART cars and we'll still have problems because our energy budget is blown so many other places. You fit into a Focus as 6'5 350 lbs? They are a roomy car... Chris
  3. No, but nice to see them sell Avengers rather than Hyundai products. Chris
  4. I'm 6' 250 lbs and fit just fine in a Miata, don't know what ya'lls problem is. Seriously, I don't mind some people driving large cars/trucks. It is a free country, and the hand that takes away your right to an H2 can take away my right to a Miata. That being said, I dispise our current situation (war for Oil) in the middle east and we do need to drop our energy usage by an order of magnatude. Either that or mine Titan, the Martian moon with a supposed petro supply, and I'll be putting an H2 into the garage next to the Miata, thank you. Chris
  5. About 85k or so, IIRC but I may well be wrong. Chris
  6. I would disagree. The Yaris is a great car to bear a good torching. Seriously, compared to the Fit, Cobalt, Focus, Versa, etc. Yaris really isn't much of a car. Chris
  7. Not sure that God exists, and if he (she?they?it?) existed he would be ever present and not need a car to get anywhere. However, one could say the buying public does not like ugly, which is a huge part of the problem. Chris
  8. TC is an older design and there are better cars on the market (Astra...cough...Astra). (Yes I know the decline is not due to Astra, but...) XD is a really crappy design. New Generation xB doesn't connect with the youth market. Prius is over hyped. Real problem with the car IMHO is that it drives terribly. I've known several non-car type people to trade them in after awhile because they handle so poorly. (really hard tires + really high curb weight+ softly sprung+odd driving dynamics) Be interesting to see what happens. Chris
  9. That they seriously sell anything is odd to me. There are much better cars on the market. Chris
  10. Next gen Focus should be a cool car. Pardon our Lust after the Euro-Focus, regfootball. You can't blame us for wanting a home run, we are rejoicing with you that the Focus seems to be a solid double. That being said, sad to see Mustang is still down. Chris
  11. Interesting that the Mazda three is having a bit of an off month. Glad to see MX-5 sales start to rebound a little bit... Chris
  12. Isn't the Dakota discontinued? Nothing here is a suprise, fuel efficient vehicles are selling, things like the Grand Cherokee are tanking. Glad to see the Avenger do well. Chris
  13. I feel about Hyundai like a lot of people here feel about Toyota. Hyundai just needs to die and go away. That being said, a huge part of their being down 11% has to be the economy. Chris
  14. Also, economy is in worse shape than most people give it credit for... GM is getting intself into pretty good position to bounce back if the economy bounces back. Chris
  15. But the dealer probably charges a reconditioning fee if the take a car back, right? Glad to see the new products doing well. Hopefully Astra does well also. Chris
  16. My best friend from high school, who lives with his family in the Bay area, would agree with you. Given Ohio's climate I am really, really jealous of you O.C. for living out there... Chris
  17. Off topic really, but I just have to get to the british Isles sometime. Wish I'd have thought of something like a kilt wedding when Kim and I got married. She (Kim) just loves celtic culture, and I am a bit of an anglophile myself. Off topic again, but are there any old MG's, Triumphs, Healy's etc. in any kind of regular use in Engladn around where you live? Or dare I ask any Lotus? I just LOVE old British sports cars. Chris
  18. .and please keep posting. I am quite enjoying reading your posts, and actually hear them in a British accent in my head as I am reading them. Chris
  19. Local Dodge dealer isn't even carrying full sized Suv's anymore. At about $5 a gallon we will hopefully start to become rational and intelligent. Chris
  20. Don't know why anyone needs to be "all GM." Most of the cars that I have owned have been GM, however I have owned a few non-GM cars that I have loved. Like DF said, it would be awesomely cool if say the Cutlass was still in production (or the Regal or RWD Monte) and then she had a choice. Chris
  21. The Jeep products have always rated really low at CR. Read a 4 wheel drive magazine and you'll get another story. The Yaris, Forenza, and FJ really belong on the list. The Japanese have built some great vehicles, but these three ain't it. Chris
