  1. Toyota could tell me there Scion line is good looking a billion times and I will never believe it. LOL
  2. Toyota is testing there new for 2008 camshaftless 5.7 liter V8 in the 2007 Tundra. Toyota- moving camshafts out of engine bays!
  3. Ah back in the day when Buick built really desirable cars.
  4. I would avoid any regular Park Ave with the base suspension. A touring suspension was an option on this series of car from 1997-2005 and is identified with the upgraded alloy wheels also used on 00-02 LeSabres. Check the option codes located under the spare tire cover in the trunk. It will read FE3 for the touring models and FE1 without. Another tell tale sign that it doesn't have touring suspension will be the lack of 2 buttons to the left of the dash for the trip computer. You had to get the 1SE package to be able to order touring suspension. All Ultras from 2003-2005 had the touring suspension but also added 17" rims which helped handling even more. Keep in mind that all 97-2003 NA Series II 3800's are candidates for upper intake manilfold failure. Some have been replaced and some haven't. A tell tale sign is antifreeze use or a sludgy residue in the overflow tank which indicates that the fluid hasn't been changed and you may be in for trouble. The SC motor doesn't use a plastic upper intake because that is where the supercharger is located and thus doesn't suffer this fate. As someone else mentioned in this post, you must make sure the supercharger oil is to capacity at all times and a good change interval wouldn't hurt. The Park Ave is a very roomy car with an enormous back seat and a big trunk. You should get many good miles out of one and they are capable of 30 mph highway all day long when in proper tune.
  5. It looks ok but I really hope they retain the nice chrome touches of todays car and not feed us another slab sided plain looking car.
  6. Underneath that bland ugly exterior and mega complicated electronics beats the heart of a performance sedan.
  7. Quote:So, that puts Chrysler at 10%.... GM at 20% now and Ford ultimately controlling 13% for a combined share of: 43%, by analyst projections. Welcome to the new import dominated market! It's amazing what a piece of $h! this decade has turned out to be. Everyday turns out to be worse than the last, bad news after bad news, a sea of bland boring generic Asian clone cars coming online and our wonderful global world that puts Americans out of work and on the streets. Is there ever any good news these days?
  8. The driving dynamics may be fine with this car but the silly Star Trek sci-fi interior is childish and the exterior is bland and weird all wrapped up in one.
  9. 10 Best 07 Nissan Altima 07 Mazda 3 07 Mazda 6 07 Mazda MX-5 Miata 07 Hyundai Sonata/Kia Optima 07 Toyota Corolla 07 Acura RL 08 Mistubishi Lancer 07 Subura Legacy 07 Subaru Outback 10 Worst 07 Scion- all models 07 Lexus- they ruined the entire lineup 07 Toyota Camry 07 Toyota Yaris 07 Toyota Tundra 07 Honda Element 07 Honda Ridgeline 07 Mistubishi Lancer Evolution- can you say 90's styling 07 Nissan Armada/Pathfinder 07 Nissan Quest
  10. The Cobalt pictured above looks snazzier than the lifeless generic Corolla. At least the Cobalt has a decent looking front end, better looking alloy wheels, a sporty optional spoiler and bodyside trim to dress up the endless sea of plain slabsidedness of todays blah sedans.
  11. This is yet another in a long line of modern day fads. Some of the European makes go so far as to totally hide the entire engine bay with land o plastic. Other silly fads include no interor colors other than black, tan and gray, smooth generic slab sided cars with no bodyside protection whatsoever because it makes the vehicle look "cleaner", that is until all the dings and dents show up after the first year of ownership and the vehicle in question looks like a fat womans ass, everything needs to be rear wheel drive again even though interior space, front seat legroom, Winter traction, mileage and weight are all compromised, the foreign is automatically better fad, the buy Toyota because they build the greenest cars fad and last but not least the Detroit builds crap fad unless were talking trucks.
  12. I'm just not getting good vibes from this vehicle. The major price increases are off putting for starters. The entire engine lineup is down on power from last years offerings of the same mills. The styling is too Korean dull. The huge silly side air intakes look odd and out of place and the increased curbweight is counter-productive to good fuel economy and performance. Also Saturn is taking away it's one major selling point, the dent resistant panals. I'll wait to see the interior to reserve judgement on that but the only thing that I like about this new Vue is the elimination of the Honda engine/tranny.
  13. All I have to say is that the new Malibu had better come to the table with all of it's cylinders firing if it hopes to compete with the mighty Camry. By that I mean the Malibu will need things like overhead assist grips across the board, rear seat folding armrest with cupholders, fold flat passenger seat like the current Malibu, std telescoping steering column, std trip computer like the current car, optional NAV and Bluetooth which I see everybody using nowadays, more back seat legroom and a bigger trunk than the Camry, comparable engine performance and NVH characteristics, optional bodyside moldings like the Camry and better interior fit and finish, unlike the Camry. The elimination of the Maxx will cost some sales and the Impala, which sells quite well these days, will surely be a competitor. The exterior of the Malibu and Camry are both equally bland and generic but the Chevy has the better looking front end appearance and more attractive interior IMO. I'm also wondering how the mileage will compare on the two as the current Camry's 3.5 V6 gets 22/31 compared to the Auras 3.6 at 20/28!
  14. The interior is nice but the exterior of this car is very dull and bland. Where are the portholes? Where are the fender curves? Where are the nice chrome bodyside moldings? Where are the Buick taillights? The current Lucerne has some of this. The China Park Ave looks like a stripper version of the Lucerne with all the trim and character taken away. Leave plain, generic and bland for Toyota.
  15. That would be Charger for me. It looks far more distinctive than this Holden clone, has AWD, more powertrain choices, comparable prices and from the look of the pictures, a larger trunk than the G8 and a boatload more character. Pontiac could learn much from this car.
  16. The G8 looks like every foreign car, bland, plain, no Pontiac sportiness whatsoever other than the tacked on hood scoops, non- descript side, a very un-Pontiac rear end and taillights etc. The Grand Prix may not have been for everyone but it at least wasn't mistaken for anything else. The 3800/4 speed combo are pretty bulletproof these days and will whale the Holden 3.6 and V8 in mileage. The RWD only setup will make it less appealing to the masses than the 300 cars from Chrysler with there optional AWD. The price will be many thousands of dollars higher, even for an entry level car and production is going to be very low. If your sole desire is smokey burnouts and price, mileage, traction and distinctive styling aren't important then this is the car for you.
  17. I'll bet they also deleted my favorite interior color- bk blue. The idiots!
  18. The new engine is the best part of this car. The interior refresh is ok but nothing special. The silly land 0 plastic engine shroud is retarded just like in a BMW and the exterior is as bland and plain looking as before, even with the silly air extractor.
  19. Just wait and see how all these newly designed cars with smooth plain sides with no door protection, that is such a dumb fad these days, are going to look with all the dings, dents and scratches. Used 2007 Camrys, Avalons, Ford 500's, 2005-2007 Monte Carlos etc are showing up on used cars lots full of these dings and look truly horrible. These manufacturers keep finding more and more ways to save money and todays cars really show it with a few miles on them.
  20. Another yawner from Honda and yet another BMW knockoff generic bland mid size sedan. Does anybody know how to style cars anymore?
  21. Top 10 GM's of the past 25 years would read: 1987-1988- Any V8 powered G-body such as the Monte SS or Olds Cutlass 442 1986-1987 Grand National/GNX, fast and stylish and an instant collectors item 1990 -Corvette ZR1, A factory made race car in it's day with an exotic take on the Chevy V8 1994-1996- Impala SS, attractive, quick and instantly collectable 1995-1999- Olds Aurora, a new bold direction for Olds 1993-2002 F-body LT1 or LS1 V8 equipped Z-28's, SS or Trans AMs with ram air 1991-1992 GMC Syclone/ Typhoon Can you say drag racer pick'em up truck 2007 Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky- 2 very stylish drop tops that brought fun and affordabilty for 2 failing divisions 2005-2007 CTS-V, can you say Corvette motor with 6 speed stick in a fun to drive Art and Science Caddy 2007- Saturn Aura, a great new product from the General with 3.6/6 speed, crisp style and very fun to drive for less than 25K
  22. As Toyota forces you to reach way over to get to the controls or Nav screen, or to lean over just to look out the confining peculiar rear window or how they force you to squint looking at the rediculous Phantom of the Opera dash with it's tiny guages or the odd steering wheel with controls on one side with no symetry!
  23. Sort of like most of todays cookie cutter FWD Asian sedans and Korean knockoffs.
  24. They took an already pathetic vehicle and tried making it look sporty. No thanks and go back to the drawing board guys.
  25. Thats my biggest beef with the rather bland looking G8. Yes it does have a better interior. But exterior wise, the Charger/Magnum have it all over the nondescript looking G8. And they have AWD available, the Magnum wagon and a broader selection of models and engines to choose from. And they aren't going to be produced in limited quantities either.
