  1. My brother wants a diesel 1500 Chevy to replace his 2004, 260k mile 5.3 powered Silvy he bought new.
  2. My automotive obsession of the moment: 1923 Audi Jaray ~
  3. 1923 Audi Jaray ~ World's first aerodynamically designed car?
  4. The clearcoat is a matte finish. Any modern car paint is matte without the clearcoat. The clearcoat is the topcoat, it provides the final appearance of the finish, whether matte or shinny (sry, internet spelling) shiny.
  5. Hopefully it will not get battered too bad.
  6. As far as I know, you cannot rub a matte finish paint with anything. Wax would really destroy it, as it would try to remove the matte and it would make a smeary, swirly mess.
  7. Dfelt, please do not wish for a matte finish paint. They are a complete PITA to keep. You cannot polish them, you have to be careful washing them, etc. etc. The Ironman Kona has matte gray paint... it is not friendly in the least. My Ioniq 5 will be the teal color, inside and out.
  8. VW Golf, FIAT Strada, Dodge Omni and Lancia Delta, as already stated, are more palatable, positive sources of inspiration. I choose to poo-poo Hyundai's own words and assign lineage to those more successful European/American progenitors, for the Ioniq 5's own good.
  9. SEEMS larger than I expected, but at Hyundai's suggestion, I am associating it with their Pony and Excel, two truly iconic designs that are worth emulating.
  10. Acura RDX is number 14 on a list of vehicles with American parts content, that is admirable, imo. China is clearly a bitter economic adversary of ours. NO WAY I'd consider the Buick, simply for this reason. I think less of gm overall for this product. It is yugely improved over the old one however. I like to believe that out of the major Asian auto-producing nations, South Korea is most friendly toward the US. Nissan has a yuge presence in Tennessee, that is a plus for me. Honda/Acura have long-established bases here as well. Toyota too. I wish the US were as protective of her industries as Europe and Asia are. As a nation, we give away way too much, at our own, longterm economic peril, imo.
  11. Well step on it a little bit, it's got 395 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque!
