  1. Drewbert, where would the battery stack go in a Theta application of eek-Assist? Where would the plumbing for the battery cooling fan go? Do you believe the LaCrosse eek-Assist powertrain could be lifted and put into a Terrain, which is a blocky, AWD CUV, and be worth the price in mileage savings? Do you believe a Theta eek-Assist vehicle could get mileage that is worth the entry price, worth the potential for high repair bills after warranty expiration, and worth the complication v. the new 2.5L DI 4 by itself? The market is speaking to the carmakers here. All this investment in electrification is for what, if the customer will not plunk down their money and commit to the compromises intrinsic in their design?
  2. Well I said Fiero because of the mid-engine layout. And are those Grand Am wheels, or Grand Prix?
  3. Yeah we had a lady total out her Taurus wagon (she said it was a hit and run, she never saw the car that hit her, but creosote and chunks of wood down the side of her car told a different story... TELEPHONE POLE! ) and she got a black Captiva from Enterprise with the polished wheels just like the pictured silver one.
  4. Whoa, this thread's pretty wild. Interesting to read.
  5. Nice looking example. I didn't realize the SX model had a body-color grille.
  6. Oh now I get it. We're supposed to be psyched out by these plates, similar approach to the "slow" adjective tossed around at muscle and rod shows. Cute. Real cute.
  7. Gary you're one hell of a dude.
  8. That much was clear in your write-up for the Terrain. Faint praise indeed.
  9. Is dude drunk? Srsly tho, NINETEEN FORTY-ONE! Awesome, that Thunderbolt.
  10. The Kentucky Special Edition was an early effort at Political Correctness by GM to better reflect the residents' dental health.
  11. I've read somewhere that GM has received much more positive feedback for the 130 than for the 140.
  12. You sir, win for spot of the munt. The one with fewer bars was a Kentucky Special Edition.
  13. Oh man, I was close but no cigar, thinking Newport when I sawr it. Was too scared to answer, for good reason, it turns out. So that's Anderson Cooper's old lady? Roof has to be retractible, it's missing in the photo Balthy originally posted, would they make it simply removable on a concept?
  14. '76 had a cross-hatch pattern, '77 had vertical bars.
  15. That's a sweet little Monaro, sort of a Pontiac and Chevrolet mix. I love the Code 130R, have I mentioned that yet?
  16. Wow, I like VWs and I forgot about the VR6. Hasn't really been in the news much since it first came out many moons ago...
  17. I hate that "in transit" BS on dealer inventory sites. I'd been stalking my Patriot for a couple of weeks through the dealer's site, it kept sticking "in transit" in my face. Got bored, drove over there... it was at the dealer! After I bought it and brought it home... it remained "in transit" for at least a week afterward. If you're a dealer and you want to go online, you've got to understand that ppl USE that tool to stalk a vehicle they like and you'd better keep after it and update it as instantly as you can. Those Veranos are pretty in pictures, I wonder if my local BG dealer has any yet... no use checking their site, unless there are real photos taken onsite.
  18. Just teasin' Drewbert. Anyhoo, now that I know where this place is, I'll be checking it out periodically. Makes me enjoy my vehicle even more to explore its capabilities (modest as they may be compared to a Wrangler, but ahead of others in its class. A Terrain would have busted the bumper off the front of it, it's like 3 inches off the street at its lowest point! )
  19. I've seen NOTHING "amazing" about electrics and gas/electric hybrids. They're worthless. They suck and they have their own set of problems more prohibitive than any real internal combustion vehicle.
  20. Next Commodore on Alpha, needs to be built at home in Australia.
  21. Demi Moore (in Ghost)
  22. Electrification? I'm over it.
  23. Yessir I did, Mr. carrots & celery. I figger I'll ride 'im that way this week and clean his little butt next weekend if the weather warrants it.
  24. Wanted to get out of the house as it's been a boring weekend. Drove south a few miles toward Conestoga, PA, and sawr a sign for "Shenk's Mill Wildflower Preserve". Not really familiar with the area even though it's like 6 miles south of my house. Suddenly, the blacktop ended and the road turned to gravel with some decent washouts and steep down- and uphill approach and departures. I turned around at a railroad track and took a different route. It was like I dropped off the face of the earth. I lowered the window to listen for the sound of banjos... Little Patriot pulled through well. I got a little mud on 'im. It turned out to be a fun excursion.
