  1. So yeah my pain continues. One of our salesdudes said 3 potential customers have seen my car parked on the lot and inquired about it, which piqued my interest. I told him I'd sell it. And the Jeep dealer wants to give me a grand total of $13k for my 2012 Cruze with 2700 miles, that had an MSRP of $19,285, purchased in August. He says it is too new to accurately put a value on it, that he does not want it for his lot, and that the Chevy dealers he called to help him with value say they have too many new ones on the lot, so essentially a 2012 with 2700 miles that has been registered is worthless to them.
  2. Yup but I think they're very close in size. What I'm not sure of is where the Taurus/MKS/Flex/Freestyle/Taurus X/Explorer/MKT platform derived from. I don't think it is based on a smaller car like the Epsilon II XTS.
  3. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to pick ONE vehicle that debuted at the L.A. show and post it here. Your favorite... let everyone know what you like and why!
  4. 2011 Benz GL550, pearl white, in our shop wrecked. One 22" wheel costs like $1400. This is gonna hoit.
  5. It's another large, conservative FWD sedan. I have a zera percent chance of ever buying one.
  6. I like it. I hope they stick the 2.5L in it though, because I've heard the new Impreza is rather anemic with the new smaller injun, if they try it in this higher-riding Crosstrek, they'll be asking fer trouble.
  7. The next Jeep Liberty... it had better not be a transverse engine, FWD biased crossover, or that will be the end of it. Jeep ® needs to remain simple, honest, rugged, and Trail Rated. *bites nails* Looks like I need to put up or shut up SOON, because the future's looking cloudy.
  8. Questions: does the relatively short wheelbase, narrow width and relatively long length indicate a vehicle hamstrung by a platform that is stretched beyond its limits? Because Chrysler did this in the 80's with the K-car platform, they put as much length as they could in wheelbase, then added overhangs to give the impression of size... but the platform was still a K-car. I am using this parallel not because I think the Regal and Malibu are no better than a Reliant, or that the XTS is no better than an 80's Imperial, I'm using it to ask a serious question: is the XTS simply too big for its underpinnings? 2012 Lincoln MKS: wheelbase - 112.9" length - 204.1" width - 75.9" height - 61.6" The MKS platform... is it a stretched version of a smaller car? I am not entirely certain what it is derived from, is it all Ford, or is it Volvo S80 derived? 2012 Volvo S80 - wheelbase - 111.6" length - 191.0" width - 73.3" height - 58.8"

  10. Yeah, too much emphasis on height, not enough on lenf.
  11. I hope the all-new MKZ is nicer than these refreshes. They just don't cut it.
  12. Pretty schweet, JB.
  13. Looks lower, less tippy than previously-viewed photos. Perhaps it is photoshopped. I'm glad it has no ridiculous, tiny third row seat to gobble up precious cargo room. I wonder what an EX AWD is priced at.
  14. That is a sweet little Pontiac. The OHC Sprint six was an example of divisional coolness that vanished when GM engines went corporate.
  15. 112" wheelbase, one inch longer than the Cadillac XTS.
  16. clapper
  17. 2012 Chrysler 300: wheelbase - 120.2" length - 198.6" width - 75" height - 58.4" Ahhh... yes...
  18. Whoa, reading the actual dimensions of the car, it really IS high and narrow. And fairly long, but mostly high and narrow. It is, I guess, Cadillac's MKS, although it seems a bit nicer. High and narrow though...
  19. on
  20. I don't see a problem putting the Volt in with the real Chevys.
  21. Back when GM's divisions were much more autonomous and distinct.
  22. wire
  23. So it's 202 inches long with 40 inches of rear seat leg room, 18 cubic feet of trunk space and an unfettered 3.6L V6. Standard 19" wheels, with 20" rims on Platinum trims. The GM photos still make it look a bit high and narrow in the front 3/4 shot. And the rear still has the proportions of the concept, with a short decklid but long "underhang". It's something to get used to. And I don't think it is Cadillac's ES350. It's higher than that... I don't know, Audi A6? Volvo S80?
  24. So, it's a base model with legendary Road Wheels put on to spruce it up for sale.
  25. Don't park it near a Prius. You will be condemned as a murderer of the earth. It's a V8 FWD coupe, a car for the 1%. I love it.
