  1. Good luck to ya, Jacket. Journalism or Radiology... both solid fields. Radiologists will always have work, I reckon. Journalists put their heart into every story to some degree.
  2. Jeez, now that I think of it, 2011 has been a year of minor tumult. Started off the year with a 2010 Colorado, traded in March for a 2011 Fiesta, which was totaled in an accident in August. Got an advantageous settlement amount from the insurance company and used that to get into a 2012 Cruze, which was traded on November 28th for a 2012 Jeep Patriot. In non-automotive news, I lost a 9-year co-worker friend when she took a job elsewhere, pretty much lost touch with someone I've pined for for 8 years with very little to show for it, and got a 50% raise in my monthly incentive pay. I also got robbed at my gym, eventually quit over it and joined at a different one.
  3. Arrivederci, darling.
  4. Absolutely inspirational. It's inspiring me to grab hold of a sledgehammer and start swingin' in its general direction.
  5. The GLI is a great looking car and a sweet package... but then I like the more pedestrian versions of the car as well. I looked at a Tiguan before buying my Patriot. I just could not swallow the pricetag, even for a base 4 motion it was $27k. The Jetta is priced more appropriately and I believe the GLI is a screamin' deal.

I'm reminded of the Citroen and of the Biscayne. I'm smitten and happy that it appears to incorporate a conventional powertrain with simple, effective fuel-saving tech. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/01/suzuki-regina-concept-tokyo-2011/

I love that little whacked-out individual. Have you seent it?
  9. It's time to kill the electric car.
  10. Don't you dare ever mention the grave possibility of "electric" and "Camaro" in the same sentence!
  11. Nice car. Too bad it was the last year for true fullsize sedan bodies @ Oldsmobubble. Or, wait, was there a run of '85s for old times' sake? I know Buick made Collector Edition LeSabres in '85. Or was it '84? It's all a blur.
  12. I think it was the Dodge Challenger with the high repurchase intent number. I am not surprised at the high satisfaction rate for the Volt, it is the best eco-weeniemobile on the market, and the small sample are very likely fervent disciples.
  13. What I was thinking is... imagine if Pontiac were not murdered by the corporation, what a Trans Am interior would look like for the 2012 model year...

  15. I have a new thread posted for this munt. And I agree wit ya on the Lambo dude, he got big nuts.
  16. The 15" wheels would also lend credence to GM's determination to make the new truck cheap to own. 16" will prolly be more likely though, with 17" on the higher trims, maybe 18" on the sportiest trims, just like now.
  17. Put down that egg nog, defrost your windows and post your December car spots right here in this nice, warm thread!

  19. I may be old skool, but a set of 15x8 rims with 31x10.50 tires looked great on the S-10 ZR2, that combo would still look great on the new truck. This proliferation of giant rims is a mixed bag... the bad part comes when paying to replace a damaged rim, or replacing those giant tars when they wear out.
  20. The exterior is still gorgeous, but the interior serves to remind us how far GM interiors have come since.
  21. GM has several accessory 20" wheels that can be purchased for the GMT900. They are expensive as heck, but they're available. A Silverado 1500 LS with a set of those would look fine.
  22. Should be purely TDI... to heck with this electric junk.

  24. 2662 pounds... that's so sweet in 2012 to see such a lightweight, simple and effective sports car. I hope this obliterates the Scion-branded version in sales, because this is seen as the original and the Scion the copy. It does use a Subaru engine, after all. Sort of like the Eclipse/Talon from back in the day. Even with Chrysler's much larger presence in the US, the little Mitsu outsold it handily... people saw the Talon as a knock-off.
  25. Love the back-up camera so you can see the look on the Prius driver's face as you accidentally imprint her hood, windshield and roof with all-terrain tire tracks.
