I'm just a bit amazed and I'm not laughing as loud as I was over this. The improvements really do make a difference, and the colour palette is very strong, interesting and worthwhile. I only wish GM would move some of that colour vibrancy UP the food chain from here. Seriously, pink? Yellow metallic? Denim blue? Those are cool and appropriate choices. The bright metal bumper trim is something we saw in the Trailblazer concept... I'll bet it comes to more Chevys in the future. I'll bet my mom would love this. It would get her out of her Cube. I'll take my crow baked with garlic and basil.

We had a Fusion on our lot in that colour that needed to come to our shop for a little bit of work. Key tag said "black". I was like dude, that's green !

Back when the tsunami engulfed a portion of Japan's industrial base, we heard that some paint pigments that are produced there would be in very short supply. The lasting effects of that disaster are evident on car lots across America, as metallic black is disappearing as a color choice, replaced by good old regular black. Ford's "Tuxedo Black" appears to have vanished, and GM's "Black Granite" seems nowhere to be found. Today I saw a line of "Black" 2012 Escapes, and James Bond's newly leased Regal will be "Onyx Black", which I believe is GM's version of the tried-and-true. I've seen some 2012 metallic black vehicles, but it is evident there are much fewer of them on the lots these days. It's interesting to me because of my job.

Totally hideous little monstrosity, but totally useful as an institutional people mover, or even an anti-establishment family van. It'll be good for the Transit Connect not to have the tiny true van market to itself.

I don't drive a tow truck, I work in a bodyshop. We are not "first responders". This fire loss occurred a good while after the crash test... you know, when a car is likely sitting inside a bodyshop, torn down for a damage estimate. For something weird like this, I'd consult Alldata, I assume GM supplied them with the necessary info... but it's still daunting when one realizes how dangerous all electrified cars are after certain crashes. I do know that every stinkin' Prius we've worked on goes dead after being parked for several days, always need a jump box. If a gasoline-powered car is going to burn, it will do so at the scene as the fuel system is compromised and a spark or hot surface ignites the fuel. With these electric jobbies, the idea that degradation over several days can lead to fire is a legitimate concern.
