  1. Remember... I told you, 3 times was enough. Last time you talked me into it, Mrs. Borger knocked on the bedroom door and I had to shimmy down the drainpipe wearing only a pair of camo crocs, remember?
  2. Who wouldn't? That's the sound of 556 supercharged horsepower.
  3. mercy, go poop!
  4. VERY nice, Rj! You and yer wifey have fun in that.
  5. There is no full consensus. There is no proof that man is to blame for this latest adjustment. And there is no way we can stop climate change. We are fleas on a dog's back. And European cities were built around Roman chariots, not "transit".
  6. Maybe a J-body owner is more interested in longevity, ease and cost of maintenance (including a timing CHAIN, as opposed to a belt that requires changing), and price of entry.
  7. (Cuban accent) don't be ridiculous.
  8. What is the best selling vehicle in the United States of America for the last, oh, 30 years? GM's small cars do pretty well when they're current. And there are many J-bodies still running with ridiculous miles on them. It is GM's habit of no continuous improvement that hurts them. They bring out a vehicle and let it rot for 10 years before doing anything abote it.
  9. "Fashionable" is a good word.
  10. Thanks, I'll look into that. I've been to the Schwinn (no-brainer fallback bikemaker) site and saw a couple of nifty ones there.
  11. Because no one was ever buying Civics, Corollas, Sentras, 3ers, MINI Coopers, Golfs, or anything like that at all, right? Like, who wants a Fiesta? So small and cramped, especially when you can get a truck like a Colorado, right? GM didn't give the customers what they wanted, they pandered to the market they saw the most profits in at the expense of almost every other segment, and now that consumer preferences have changed, they're kind of scrambling and having to prove themselves because of all the throwaway crap they made in those segments before. GM has no problem selling good cars, regardless of size. But if all you're making are Cavaliers and Sunfires, yea your customers aren't gonna want that. Your phaser gun cannot harm me. I traded my Colorado for various reasons, NONE OF WHICH had to do with CAFE regulations. Besides, the Fiesta has been great fun. If you study the tao of ocn, you will see a precedent for my vacillation between truck and small fun car extends back to 1992 (you were prolly still swimmin' around in dad's scrotum) when I bought my Golf II GL 2-door hatchback in light green metallic.
  12. You've been there... the future, I mean? You shall heretofore be known as "Marty McFly" on these boards.
  13. You're no authority on the subject, Croc. And "the science" is contradictory.
  14. I vote 80's, too. I was there. "Gutless engines" "unintelligible Sci-Fi dash controls" and "downsized beyond reason" are three phrases that readily come to mind. Except for the Buick Grand National. One shining black star in an otherwise dark night.
  15. Prolly one of those Tibetan caps with the little pom-poms on a string at each ear. Awww....
  16. They put their development money into vehicles a majority of Americans wanted to buy. You know very well bigger profits are to be found in trucks than small cars. So GM is a victim of giving customers what they wanted. How ironic is that? It was money well spent what they put into the GMT900, Lambda, and Theta v.2 platforms. Shame they had none left to keep the Cobalt and Aveo up to date and competitive.
  17. Standing up in the sunroof? Didn't the wind muss your coiffure?
  18. Yer funny.
  19. A horrible side effect of burdensome, overreaching, punitive, invasive CAFE regulations.
  20. Car's cool. Vid is very nice except for those pesky grille-clogging leaves. Music's gay. And where is "New Bethlemhem" PA? Too many mmmmms I think. Camera car seems a bit higher than the CTS-V... was you guys filming out the back of Albert's CR-V? EDIT: OK, who curbed the front bumper? I see the passenger side bottom gray plastic bumper piece is broken, hanging down... a symptom of hitting a parking curb.
  21. Thanks for the tip, Mr. Doane!
  22. How is it that GM is running scared of CAFE, while Hyundai/Kia continue their relentless march into all segments, including upper end RWD?
  23. I'd take it. It would be something simple to maintain if garage kept and driven only in good weather. It deserves that much respect for still being here.
  24. Camaro's interior is at least nicer than Challenger's. Only thing cool about the Challenger interior is the 2011 corporate steering wheel and the optional pistol grip shifter. The dash is sleepytown.
  25. My bike has been hanging in my garage since I moved to PA in 2003... unused. It's a Wal-Mart special (shows how old it is, I have boycotted Wal-Mart for years, I think I bought it circa 1998) Pacific Strike 21 speed. It has never been left out in the weather, so it's in great shape. Tires hold air, don't appear too dry or cracked. Butt, it's too high off the ground, and I don't need that many gears. I want to get back into bike riding again, but this time around I am interested in a relaxed riding position and only 3 speeds... a comfort bike that can take on moderate hills. Anyone have any exPIRRience or recommendations? TIA.
