  1. Is this an ongoing process still, or is that as far as they got before stopping? The old lady looks dignified in that pic, even with concrete blocks holding up her undercarriage.

How about an avatar of Silverchair's Daniel Johns? He's kinda hot.
  3. I have no idear why, but this always makes me happy.
  4. I love my local automatic, touchless car wash... with full underbody spray! I come out feeling so fresh.
  5. To you and your family, Nos: take good care.

    Happy birthday

    Hope you're doing well, Cappy.
  10. Well, this was 1984, what else was there? The then-new Aero T-bird had a crappy 130hp 302, the Monte Carlo SS had 180hp, but less torque than the Olds engine. Not sure if the Dodge Mirada CMX had an optional 360 that year (if so, it was probably rated at 180hp), I know the 318 was a 130hp boat anchor around that time. Relatively speaking, Oldsmobile kept more of the old musclecar promise than anyone in the class in 1984. EDIT: ha, the Mirada went out of production in 1983, I forgot that. Its 360 was rated at 185hp/275 lbs torque, according to Wikipedia.
  11. XP, I believe the Hurst/Olds 307 had 40 more horsepower than the regular version.
  12. I like both of them.
  13. Sometimes those latches get "flipped" to the closed position. By trying to slam the door shut repeatedly with the latch "flipped", you probably did more damage to the latch. WD-40 is your friend. White lithium grease is your friend.
  14. Congratulations, 2Quick. How about a few photos down in the "member's rides" section? I had every intention of test driving an Astra 3-door tonight after work. I got to the dealership, got out of the Sierra, looked at the car... chickened out, and left. Local dealer now has 2 Astra 3-doors, black and red.

  16. K.C., are you sure he didn't just clean the sink after his dad shaved, and stick them on there with crazy glue?
  17. Uh, well, the bodycolor bumpers and grille, the round foglamps in a special valance, and that style of roof rack were all Z71-only pieces. Does it have gray textured lower body trim along the sides with running boards? It should also have 17" machined-face rims that look different from other Tahoe/Suburbans. Check the option label in the bottom of the glovebox. The options should be listed by codes, in alphabetical order, see if it says "Z71" on it. I know it has the code on the pickups.
  18. I bemember that car.

    Ducks

    Haha, cool.
  20. Erm, I dunno. If by dodgefan you mean really stupid or retarded than (sic) rusty, broke ass Shadow FTW... also, there's that one Intrepid... Does a totalled Prizm count?
  21. This sounds interesting, but when I had my turbocharged car, I was told I should let it idle for a few minutes before shutting it off hot, to cool off the turbo. Who is going to do that? And is it still a necessary procedure to ensure turbo longevity? I do like the sound of turbo whistle, though. I wonder how the mileage and power ratings will compare to the NA 2.2L.
  22. Ehhh, you're ok, Perdue. You're not by yourself. The S-series cars have a devoted following. At work we just painted a '97 SC2 rear bumper cover for a guy who would not shut up about how ideal they are as city commuter cars, and we just processed a '95 SL1 hit in the rear end by a Chevy K2500 and totalled at 165k miles. That little sucker started up and ran perfectly with barely a touch of the key (but when it did, a cacophony of buzzing interior trim followed suit, it made me giggle but then I kept looking at the odometer and I didn't care). Long Live the S-Series!
  23. Internal combustion engines can have an unlimited future with renewable alternative fuels.
  24. Let me guess, you want a black one?
  25. Well you know mine is an '07, it was rated at 16/22. After 13k miles, my overall average on the DIC stands at 16.1 mpg.
