  1. I'd love to have a '72 Vega notchback to paint candyapple green and donk it. :AH-HA_wink: No but seriously, I do the same thing if I see a random old interesting vehicle.
  2. Very cool, kaycee. Those old Chryslers were so over-engineered, it was crazy. Hey vonVee, one of my uncles had a Chrysler sedan (not an Imperial) with the same kind of steering wheel. I have a clear childhood memory of it, I was standing on the driveshaft hump leaning over the front seat, marveling at the crazy steering wheel, the rearview mirror on the dash, and all the chrome as he drove.
  3. Somehow, I don't think Ven would be so philosophical about this if PCS were droning on and on about Buick being killed.
  4. Riviera or Skylark?
  5. I'm going to guess that's a '62 Plymouth Sport Fury.
  6. I had very good luck with my Colorado, and I'd buy another. The current US version needs a restyling, but the Thai version is kind of blah, wimpy if you ask me.
  7. They're gonna hafta stand in line like everybody else. :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Beautiful car, vonVee.

You know, I didn't ask, but I just checked at fueleconomy.gov, and it says the 2.0L Turbo is rated for 21/29 with 5 speed, and uses regular fuel. The 2.4L recommends premium.
  10. Cool, moltar. Any pics to share?

    I'm pretty big. 5'5", 145 pounds. :AH-HA_wink:
  12. Autoweek magazine on the fifth-gen Chevrolet Camaro: This is not the kind of thing General Motors just does well; it is what GM was made for. The Camaro convertible is so close to the perfect all-American car that it should be in a museum in a glass case marked “Muscle-car americus.”

  15. The little Chevy Sprint sold well in 3-door guise, plus you could order a turbo engine... I still do not understand why we cannot get the 3-door version of this car here. The 3-door bodystyle alone would increase it's limited coolness factor by 2, at least, and a sport trim package with an appropriate horsepower upgrade would sell well, I predict, and set the stage for the Beat. Canadians would love it as a Pontiac G2 GT, ha, and an Aveo Sport could "jazz" up Aveo sales here.

Yeahbut, I bet the only people who will get that excellent mileage v. power ratio are the old ladies who will never spool up the turbocharger. My 5.3L Sierra is so addictive, I just love to make my pipes blow... but it is breaking my piggy bank. I got quotes from my insurance agent for Cobalt and HHR 2LTs, each are about $100 cheaper per year to insure than my Sierra. I will pull a VIN off the Chevy website for an SS, call her with it, and see how it compares, ratewise.
  17. Oh my, I love the angle of that shifter in the bottom picture... and look how big it is!
  18. Seems odd Carl-Peter would be wearing a Confederate flag as a cape. Maybe whatever is in that can made him do it. I know it's CP because the top of his head is perfectly smooth. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. Late model Plymouth Volare sedan, in black, with chrome, fullface wheels (about 16", not huge) and a Cadillac V-Series (or G6 GXP) style, mesh crosshatch grille. 1973 Chrysler Newport sedan, in perfect period brown, in beautiful condition, cruising silently, 440 and Torqueflite ready to come alive and pounce at any moment.

I was reconsidering it before the accident, more so after the accident, even though it is running perfectly and looks fine. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to spend less on a vehicle... well, at $23,120 plus T&T, it would be darn close to my current payments with the downpayment I have in mind. A 2LT 2.4L with 5 speed would be $4000 cheaper after discount and current rebate. A Cobalt 2LT 5 speed coupe at $17,080 MSRP could probably be purchased for around $15,800 after all discounts. I only owe $16,700 on the Sierra, I believe Edmunds pegs it at $21k "private party value", if I decide to sell it myself like I did my Colorado. I just filled up the truck today, and between the snow the other night (crawling in snarled, slow moving traffic) and 100% urban driving in general this tank... 13.96 mpg.

  25. GMNA's 2020 model year lineup: Chevy Aveo, with your choice of trim levels: Cobalt, Malibu, Camaro, or Impala. And an Alpha Cadillac 1.4L Turbo V-Series. Exciting!
