  1. Local dealer has two Astra 5-doors. One silver base (the wheel covers scream WALMART), and a blue XR. The silver car was totally coma-inducing, in and out. The blue one, only slightly less boring. The interior is perfect for a funeral, very plain and very black. I mean, I have black interior in the Sierra, but it seems nowhere near as sad as the Astra's.
  2. No frills, just the necessary stuff to take on the Wrangler and kill it. Wait, I don't want to see the Wrangler killed, I like the Wrangler, too.
  3. The grille reminds me of a ribcage... very organic. I love the fact Hyundai, of all makes, brings out an affordable RWD sedan, while more mainstream nameplates limp along with warmed-over, FWD snoozemobiles... Hyundai names the G8 and 300 among their competitors. How did GM get so far out of the loop to let HYUNDAI beat them to market with something like this? Pathetic on GM's part.
  4. The dark gray is one of my favourite new Malibu colors. Congrats... pics please... of the real thing.
  5. Standard of the World, indeed. Fantastic specs.
  6. Very flattering photography. Very seriously hot car.
  7. I just saw a cow fly by.
  8. The stance and proportions all scream "VUE", kind of a letdown for me. I do like the rear end.
  9. This will be great for those close-up porn shots.
  10. No Borger. It isn't. But do regale us with tales from that Ford dealership if you have visited it. Sounds interesting! :AH-HA_wink:
  11. Wow, it's like a beam of heavenly light burning through the overcast... ta daaaah!!!
  12. Sleeping on the job... oh my.

    Hello.

FLY! How's that whole internet gig going, sir?
  14. No, but that could actually work for, not against the cars.
  15. My point being, Toyota is trying to combine Scion with Toyota to claim the #1 sales spot for 2007 over Chevrolet, when clearly they are not one in the same anyplace else.
  16. At Cobo Hall, Scion has a separate space from Toyota. What does that mean?
  17. Hmm... hey, why does Scion have a separate space from Toyota? :AH-HA_wink:
  18. Yeah, I remember the crankshaft balancers flying off 3.2L Cateras, that Opel engine... and the door hinge checkstraps ripping out of the doors, which required replacing the entire doorshell under warranty. Real high-quality stuff, thanks Opel. But that was then, this is now, I certainly hope quality has improved at GME. Europeans may have remained more loyal to their domestic manufacturers than dumbass Americans have, but I am still very interested in seeing some statistics on GME quality... although I like VW, we all know they have some quality control problems here and there, is a similar record what we can expect out of Opel/Saturn when they become fully integrated? The Alpha platform is such a perfect match for Pontiac, a complete no-brainer. Cadillac is another good spot for it. Is there really room at Chevrolet for something like a Monza sedan and coupe, or will that cannibalize turbo Cobalt sales?
  19. This is very interesting engine technology, similar to VW's Twincharger setup, except I think VW uses a supercharger/turbocharger combo. Is the only real fuel economy benefit the smaller displacement, or is there something else?
  20. Good job, VW, still on top!
  21. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Durn it, this thread's been up forever and I just discovered it. Now I want to go to Target myself and see what they have.
