  1. The only reason the gauges have that appearence is because there is a flash going off or so I assume. Im sure dead on from drivers position they are awsome. Finally something different and .......wah wah wah This interior is striking.

  4. We used to summer vacation on Pensicola Beach when I was a kid. We always swam out to sand bar but not beyond. People used to surf beyond that though. The surfers were actually the ones that kept an eye out, everyonce in awhile one would come down the beach warning about a shark in the area and point out where they were. The guys were great, they would follow them down and keep everyone warned ahead of them. Now the jelly fish were what scared the heck out of me, ouch ! today, I havent been to the Ocean in over twenty years and the brookys in my stream outback only nibble.
  5. the Miura was the only Lamborghini I was ever crazy about. Just alot of lack of knowledge here. The Ford GT is a near perfect clone of the 40 this is a smoothed out and modern Miura. the Ford GT was also not the first GT car to show that type of styling that became the root of this type of sports car. I suspect the demand (proportionally)would be fairly high for this car if they produced it. Sleek smooth curved sexy lines, yea thats the stuff. Insects belong in the trees, this belongs on the road.
  6. My buddies mother whom was like my stand in mother had a new Mustang II I think it was a 74, the knotch roof too. I actually drove it every week when we went to the city, it was not a bad car but I couldnt live with the styling nor the Maverick for that matter. Enzoras right they sold like hotcakes, they were everywhere and all us youngsters scratched our heads and wondered why. The same answer can be seen today in the Camry or the Accord, the vast population does not want a pony car or performance car or bad ass styling they want practical pleasent utility what ever that may be during any givin era. Like the Rabbit and Horizon years. As for that Challenger I had forgot about them ? But do remember now. was that a Mitsu ? Was that Shelby or was that pre Shelby ? What was it Shelby did ??? Daytona & ???. Boy that was a long time ago. I remember reading the test on the Shelby Mopar cars. Those were sad times for performance and styling let me tell ya. thats why I say so many that bust on the domestic during these times did not know what was going on. One side still wanted large heavy and V8s while it was clear they needed to downsize for the frugle that needed mileage and changing times. At the same time needed to meet emissions and CAFE and safety and big displacement nothing matters V8s was all they ever knew. everything just went to hell. The Asains and Germans only needed to keep doing what they had always done and ship them to market. Domestic need to rethink the automobile while the population was tuggin and pullin in every direction. Bad times, regretable. Alls better now though ey ?
  7. Thats funny Bob , I actually cant vote. I hate the idea of "politically correct" especiaaly when many of the so called openminded politically correct people are some of the snobiest people to walk the face of the earth. Two summers ago now I worked with two black dudes, one a Jamacan and a Hispanic we had some kind of fun let me tell ya. We were all around the same age and I asked them if back in the 70's they had a fro and dreds.......they asked me if I had hair down to my ass. Lots of fun and I miss those two guys, the hispanic guy had too much attitude and was only there about 3 weeks. I did not however get along really well with some of my fellow white boys, but that was that seniority, testostrone, "must pay dues" BS, I did not get that from those other three, and the girls (all two) in the office loved me. I do however have a problem with repressed lesbian feminazi bitches though but Ive been there and it was very very painful. It was a situation where my entire family was always walking on eggshells and had no idea what we had done other than being born. She pretended to be openminded and politically correct in one momment and in the next everyone was a complete waste of O2. Since over a decade of that and other school of hard knocks ed (Whatsamatter U). I believe in treating all people with respect until they cross the line, then I say "Ok, ya wanna F--- I like to F---". that is my version of correctness.
  8. your right about many thing sciguy but a bit off in others. thats OK still the right basic attitude though a bit narrow in scope. The parental points were dead on. Parents that live to drink, always have beer or whatever around, friends over drunk on Saturday night, drunk on Sunday usually raise kids that think that is normal fair and grow up to live the same lifestyle. Legalized and regulated mind altering drugs used openly within the household will have the same effect......in fact have.....I know people that raised their kids smoking around them and who knows what else and guess what, 12/13/14 year old kids, major drug heads, problems in school, problems, problems, problems. So Chris you can never really expect anyone to buy into that one except people that believe it is A OK to get all doped up infront of the kids. on the other hand sciguy - its already impossible to hold down much of a job and smoke, random drug testing has destroyed that and in fact has destroyed many peoples lives, not the weed. However an occasional coke user has half a chance of passing the urine test. There is no comparing weed to coke or crack or any of the heavy stuff including alcohol. However an acoholic can get drunk as hell Sat night and all day Sunday beat the wife and children go to work Monday take the random urine test and go on with his dayly life unchecked. (Beating part added for drama) but you get the point or at least should. The points about prisons and over crowding due to petty drug crimes is a good point but around here kids or young folks and even older for that matter that get in trouble the first few times for posession get little trouble, maybe an overnight in county and fines but they are not cloggin up the prison systems and those that do "go down" have asked for it and deserve it. We had a coke dealer around here (small town) finally get busted and sent down he tubes but he deserved it and I celebrated openly and boy did that get me some looks. He had so many girls screwed up, this has been 20 years now and most of those girls never really got it back together. So I truely believe that no drug including weed will ever be legalized, the implications will always speak for themselves. The comparitively small handful that may die or be permenantly damaged from what you call unregulated drugs would be nothing compared to the results of increased acceptence within the socioty that getting wasted is OK cause its legal.......like alcohol.
  9. yea, wtf's with this blue hair crap anyhow ? Does that fit into the openminded, worldly, multiculture, politically correct agenda ? Just curious, yarite. My best friend has had white hair comming since he was early twenties, now he looks like Jack Frost, highly successful drives a C5, builds hotrods, plays bass in a metal band and pretty much smokes everyone at everything for some dam reason, just naturally talented. People that use the grey hair term should be bitched slapped for an hour by Granny. Disrespectful punks
  10. Yea "missed the mark" whose mark? I never thought Buick was aiming for teenagers and 20 year olds, however mature 20's/30's/& 40 year olds like them plenty. Lucerne is way to new to warrant a "missed the mark" Wasnt the LeSabre one of the highest selling family sedans ? Just more typical sterio typing perception problems.
  11. Thats going to be some beast and it will prove itself. The current Mustangs are setting up quite nicely on the track. Shelby never disappoints. Good job Ford, until recently I have not truely liked a Mustang since 1970.
  12. Oh great........now all we get to hear about is how GM has no 8 speed.........what is it a friggin truck ? With all that power it could have a powerglide....lol I was thinkin that rearquarter shot had similiarities to Lucerne. GM take note, no more detuneing engines to appease other divisions because we will be getting this 4.6 stuffed down our throats.
  13. That does have alot of character for a crossover, nice styling. I actually believe that hip is seen on the Lacrosse. Some of the front/hood/header/facia seen on Velite. This is a good direction. Ive been reading and Im wondering what Lexus and Acura have at the auto show for their future, rather than compareing to todays current lineups. I await the flagship.
  14. That idea is certainly not without merit but your just sending a wrong signal if you legalize mind altering substances. Alcohol has been legal and is so highly acceptably abused, we cant have that attitude expanded upon, we cant make it easy.
  15. Hang on, hang on, I need some education here. Frigidare = General Motors or General Electric ? I had my parents first frig that had the semi circular lazy sue shelves that were on a worm shaft so height or space could be adjusted accordingly. 2 fold down bottle racks. The thing would freeze salt if you wanted it to. The cast door handle eventually broke at the pin and for awhile we had a fine hickory handle I made with a steel rod and recessed cup in the end to push the release trigger and I figured what the heck, the freezers kinda small and they say the new fridges are "energy conserving". Well we bought this new Kenmore and our electric bill went up , it nearly never stops running but at least I regressed into the future, just kiddin but things really used to be well built and highly functional as well as stylish and user friendly.
  16. I just realized the similiarity of the rear design concept of this to the GM fastbacks of ? 49 that I like so much.
  17. Yes indeed, Vignale, Touring Superleggera & Farina delievered some great pages in automotive styling and design. The Cisitalia was the base point of this post war sportscar styling said to be designed by Battista Farina, not sure if this is that car or not.
  18. thats absolutely sinister......my wife just said that looks.........burly photos of interior will be nice but this is the one department we can always be sure GM will alter from concept.....unfortunantly.
  19. Aero drag..........this is a stealth fighter compared to the 300 Brick choo choo engine. The chop with the grill brought out turns finely sculpted craftsmanship into a Tonka toy. Id say GM design spent thousands of hours exploring and applying ideas and the end result is dead nuts. The best customizers would have a hard time improving on this little pony. Im sure staff and management knows better than to second guess and make a mess of things by taking out the eraser and smudging up the paper.
  20. ya mustta missed something in my post or in the between the lines meaning in my post. Its a reality, any of that stuff being legal with todays knowledge of the human mind is wrong, they are all diseases and addictions....I feel the same way about many perscribed medicines.....even legalized white collar theifs, the ones we trust to do whats right..because they went to school and make the big bucks. :P My drug information...well it could be uglier.....I will say that......I still know it should not be legal.
  21. Now now boys, dont loose site of reality here. I love it too but that Camaro is way too far off and way late for dinner. You should be praising the Mustang for getting the ball rolling again. Then the Mustang is looking to and already did kick some serious butt in any and all GT classes it is raced in, you should be proud of any American car that goes out on the track and hands it to the infamous 911 family or the BMW's and Mazdas. We are all getting back on track and back to our proper roots. Now just today and perhaps it was a event from the end of summer so it may be old news to some but a very country looking American boy just seriously smoked and I mean litterly smoked Japans best drifters in Japans best riceroni in some drifting finals........in a Mustang...........now I gotta tell ya, that just made me feel like doing the jig ! Pay attention world ! Americas got its second wind.
  22. Ya know Harley, I had a really bad experience with him about the state of the American forests topic we unfortuanantly got involved in. I dont want to rehash it again ever but its widely known throughout the industry on all sides of the fence what I was talking about. He did a few quick internet searches, hardly a place to see the status of the timber supply or industry or land developement, sub division, suburban sprawl, park aqusitions, ect. ect. ect. and came back posted his Links and a few quotes and said litterly"case closed" as if I had no idea what I was talking about or worthy of expressing my point blank in my face view of the timber industry. I do not consider that a great debator, or clear thinker. It reminds of that little skit Monty Python did with the "no it isnt, yes it is, no it isnt , yes it is, no it isnt, yes it is, then combine that with a few episodes of the twlight zone. Its very easy to be oh so contrare. That was one of the worst situations I have ever been in in my life, its my business and I have watched it all going down for better than two decades in fact it had a devastating effect on my life and I get a "case closed" and a bunch of "oh hums" and "yawns" after I'd explain whats been really going on.....
  23. Yea, thats you ! What was your call name ? I didnt realize that was you. for some reason.

    Buicks Future

OK, Im not trying to distract from the release of the Lucerne. Still I am spured from a look at the Camaro concept and recent topics where I have questioned wheres the investment for Buick ? Remember the 3 billion ? I am really happy with the Lacrosse and the Lucerne, Lacrosse needed some time to grow on me but you know, I think excluding its few flaws that we dont need to rebash it is an excellent car for what and where it is, an improved and rebodied mid lux. The Lucerne is very striking, yet sensible and roomy but once again... improved rebody. Are we going to get one car from these new RWD platforms and suspension technology? One car that really cranks the old head around like a 66 Riviera would have in its day ? One car that says "what do you think about this... BMW ?" Yea, yea yea, we got Pontiac with the little beeky thingy pointing down the nose and no wood in the interior and devoid of any chrome. I want the Buick thats got the road firmly under its wheels, the power to throw its weight around with, a choice varity of colors and materials and wood and chrome, no holds barred luxury, the American Jaguar, the American BMW, I want that damn flagship back that says "we're got more than sensible safe transportion for all you kids to bust our ageing balls about" I want to look over my shoulder and give the little snot nose rice boys girl a wink at the red light as she stares at the amazing site......just before I smoke his ego on down the road. I want the advanced modern Buick Riviera !
  25. They cant take 3 years to get this to market.......must.........get.........it.......done......soon. grindstone boys, grindstone, 09 is tooooooo late.
