  1. No hold on just a minute ! I thought we were living in "a global world" Wait let me think Is Japan is running a Democracy...... Is China running a Democracy? Is India running a Democracy? Is Turkey running a Democracy? Are we really living in a Democracy ? Yarite ! If some of us Americans have spine enough to say Bullshit to imports, I suggest you get used to it, cause you aint seen nothing yet !
  2. BFD, what good is it going to do the American population if Chineze communist built cars are sold in Communist China ? That is a "cant see it from my house" we will never see it, it will make no betterment in America. However when they start importing that cheap communist crap cars it will destroy a large sector of the American population.
  3. It is the governments problem and the Governments fault. They are paid to serve and protect American interests. Toyota and Honda have nothing to do with American interests, they are in fact against the American interests. Trade agreements, foreign policy are the job of the government. Japans government is doing a great job protecting the interests of their people, I would suggest we wake TFU and start doing the same !
  4. Arent you being a little care less about things ? aH..............YEA!
  5. I wonder why ? Seems suspect
  6. Vips ! I love that photo of the Wolfs, That a piece of America I can relate to.
  7. GM will be little more than a page in history within our lifetimes. "Modern"Americans hate Americana, they want to crush it, there is so much history and grandness that it makes todays happenings dull and pointless. So what better way to show importance than to crush the greatness of those that came before. I guess if thats the only creativity one can conjure up ? If you have seen the Kia commercial of all the preppy yuppys on the beach, it pretty much sums up current American mentality. The country as we have known it is ending. Perhaps within a few more decades we all be talking Spanish and eating with chop sticks, that would be an important kind of thing. :P I only need to witness it for 20 more years. It seems like an eternity.
  8. Thanks Andy, but please tell me if its my computer or if that funny text ? Or ?????? Am I now legally blind ?
  9. The early 1600, 2000, 240/260/280 Z and second 300ZX as well as 3000 GT are about the only Japanese cars I'll give a look. Even though they are little more than Italian copycats, perhaps why I will look at them.
  10. 81 Imperial I guess they were even reced in NASCAR, this is a model someone hand built from a Tbird model  this car is one of the few non sports cars from approx 77-86 that I would consider paying hard earned cash for. It would need to be black with red leather.
  11. Ah yes, the Domestics greatest styling years :P . I didnt pay much attention back them because I couldnt, it hurt my eyes. Still I assumed the Mark would have been sporty. The 80/81 NYers were the same kind of "thing". I remember when my Grandfather bought the 82 NYer it is the same car as we would remember being called Fifth Avenue but it was called a NYer in 82. I thought silently 'but why?'. Today I still have that car and love it  When you sit down inside and the outside world goes away you forget all about the square styling. Naturally I prefer the NYer to Lincolns of the day. Interesting car was the early 80's Imperials, I should hunt down a picture, at least they were unique, perhaps the last blade edged car.
  12. Could someone tell me if that is some strange looking type. Or is my computor suffering from substance abuse ? Barely legible almost Japanese symbol looking. Then the red fine print is so fine its work to figure out the words. I went to the Pontiac web site a few times weeks back and found the same crap, but didnt find it on other sites. I can read it but its so frustration I feel its not be worth the effort. I was not aware that reading was supposed to require major effort. Whats up ?
  13. Im tryin to remember the Mark VI but cant. I remember a late 70's TBird because there was one sitting around for sale a few years back. Probably similar ?
  14. Thats a 76 Scorpion (US) Monte Carlo (elsewhere) a pretty much underpowered, denutted smog engined car that my close friend has had for decades. Hes into Vettes and Hotrods now so its been sitting in garage for 15 years. I did some tree work around his house and its a done deal. Needs a complete. Small, easy - comparitively. Lots of potential. Heres the group 5 GT turbo car and info, its much different - naturally http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.php?f...php&carnum=1104

    Beautiful!

Were still 2.80's . It was 2.teens the day they predicted the hurricane. It was 2.80 4 hours later. Must be its still blowin
  16. Wow ! 3 bucks an hour. There is not a job around here that a man can not get and start at 12.00 an hour. If they like you and want to keep you you will be at 14-16 in no time. Long standing employee will be over 20 within 5-8 years. A youngster with little work experience will start lower, around 10. Myself Im ashamed that humans will sell themselfs as cheap as your area. They gain nothing by working for peanuts. Only proving ignorance to the wealth within this country. Where do they live ? At home with ma and pa ? What do the do with all their money ? A 12 pack on Sundays ?
  17. My next project, in Black, not home yet gonna do some panel modifications, going for something like this - in black
  18. I love the Mark VIII's. A guy at one of my "jobs" had one, mint and kept that way. It was the brilliant soft green I like, Ford used in on everything back then, but this green had a gold flake in it. It really stood out in the sun. Like Blu said though I did see many just sit on the used lots and never sell. They were however, brown and a strrange purplish color. Im with Z on the LHS, the first Gen, my Uncle bought one new when they were still NYer's. Love em, but still have never drivin one. Was going to check them out when shopping last time but there was that LSS and ...........sold !
  19. Blu ? You dont have a baby do you ? Its usually one color, just go check out your typical non shades of grey interior and you will find the slight variations are about as much as baby poop varies. They usually eat the same thing according to period in life for the first 3 or so years at which point they become toddlers or children. Thats if your good parents. Good parent doesnt let their 2 year old sit and eat a crayon. We only had one, maybe we were lucky, she didnt develope an appetite for crayons ? :-)
  20. I understand that, its why I have to many cars. same problem different way of working it. If the headliner was getting wet my dealership would be very very very very very ill at the site of me. wouldnt put up with that for a second. Attorney General here I come, been there, done it.
  21. Ah, Im so confused. I have to choose between red and white meat and I came here for a cup of coffee ? Beef, pork, chicken, fish.... all good, who wants the same thing everynight ? So no vote from me. coffee went out the door within very little time from quiting smoking. Improved my taste buds and discovered coffee really tastes bad, I have one every now and then. Water lives
  22. Well I do like that Sea Foam green but in more brilliance and flake. I also like the equivelent blue. Maybe thats Ocean Blu ? ;-) I like my yellows to pop though and same with blues. I also miss an in your face gold, I dont like the current Buick gold for instance. But Gold is for Oldsmobiles so there you have it. That firey redish bronzish color I painted my Alpine will always remain a favorite. I dont have a combo in mind of hand though I do so wish they would do something about interior choices. Shades of grey Shades of Baby poop
  23. Well complete hatred of four door cars would be more, bias, mostly closed minded. [but then I have that for imports, now adays anyhow] It would present a good case, from a styling perspective, back 20 some years when a four door car had "family" "sensible" "dont want to stand out" or "worried about what the neighbors think" writtin all over it. People were much more conservative, like my Father and Grandfathers for instance. It really was because of the greenhouse on those older cars. Myself I do not care for many of the old 4 dr cars at all. A few of the hardtops are interesting but the top line on a 2dr would always be sportier. Then take a 1st gen Stang, I dont like any of them except the fastbacks, I'll walk right past them at a car show, they just dont interest me. However in the 90's they threw that all to the wind and started using a more fastback greenhouse on sedans. Also cars were just naturally becoming more streamlined and therefore looking sportier. The only difference say in a two or four door GP was the lenght of the door and location of the B pillor, from any other angle or without focusing on the line between the doors no one would see a different car. I went for the LSS (Eighty Eight) body style because of the greenhouse, its sleek, sporty, where as the LeSabre or PA or 98 have that conservative upright cap look to them and no Auroras or Riviera were available plus its got that L67 B). Otherwise we would be driveing just a plain Eighty Eight LS. That LSS just happened to be on the lot at that time and I knew why......sold ! Aurora was a pretty sporty looking ride, in my eyes. When sat beside its cousin the Riviera it would be apparent that the Riv was a sleek and sporty looking 2dr. but both cars portray the same class and character, just as Riviera and Toronado always shared. However.....think of the possibilities to reworking an Aurora into a even sharper 2dr sedan :o , better yet how about a 2dr hardtop, with thicker C pillor, smaller rear window :o Even the Toronado org. recognized the Aurora into its realm. Their gone now and I dont see much about Aurora on the new Toronado site but its new yet. Whats this topic about   Oh, well, none of those other cars were worth talking about :P
  24. STOP ! Personally I would not answer that question. I have asked similar question to some of those who feel we non frat boys are only worth 9 dollars an hour and have yet to get just even a handle on where they stand in the giant assembly line of America. This is a set up to start a screamer about how, no way in hell are you worth and you lack of skills worth 73 thou with overtime. Its a great living and Im happy for you, not jelous. Its far beyond our combined income but I know better than to chop another down because my industry has no organization. This is not personal to Lakefire he has been one of the more reasonable few. Ok Lakefire ? Nothing to do with you. :)
  25. Ho boy ! The Aurora didnt replace the Toronado ? Because it had four doors ? I heard that once before. Impressive how some people can count so well. Does this mean the 86 Delta 88 was really not a Delta 88 ? Then what happend in 92 when it was no longer available in both a two door and four door, it probably wasnt even a car by that time. I guess this also means the GP isnt really a GP but rather something beamed down from the Twilight zone. Then in all reality the 88 bodied Regency was simply a way of using up old stock Regency interiors and chrome grills. The '99 Eighty Eight 50th Anniversary I had used a Regency interior from at least as far back as 97. I dont recall all the details. I think they were using up bumper covers and side mouldings that had a different kind of ribbing than the 97+ Eighty Eights as well. I never saw either the Park Ave or Regency as anykind of flagships. When there was no Toronado or Aurora or no Riviera there were no flagships. The divisions were barron. Just as Buick is now and will be until Buick designs and builds a flagship.
