  1. Nah, there is a very bad spot right near my house that can send you over the edge if the plow is full of snow. I even got the Duramax stuck there once. This area had not been plowed at all after the last storm, so it was a real PITA to deal with. Damn pissant driveway!
  2. ...or swap in Escalade EXT parts. Yes, someone makes a cap for it - odd looking.
  3. The 900s are flat-out gorgeous, but I'd prefer a WBH model if I were going for an 800.
  4. No, just obligation plowing.
  5. Got it back around 3 PM and spent a few hours beating the snot out of it trying to get all of the hard-packed snow off of the lane. Did really well until I got it stuck and spent an hour digging and then yanking it out with the Tahoe. Back at it in a few minutes - snow is coming down again...
  6. Perhaps, but it's ugly as sin.
  7. I've always hated the cladding.

  9. I've loved the Avalanche concept from the start, and any reservations I have had about it had little to do with the vehicle itself. In fact, one could be in my future easily.
  10. I wouldn't touch a 2WD Avalanche (or Suburban) with a ten foot pole. Minimal savings at purchase only to own a vehicle that has no resale value farther north than the Carolinas.
  11. For bedliners, Line-X is the way to go.
  12. Well said, Ocn.

    HELP!

Lacking a lift (and some other goodies), I won't be doing the swap myself. The local Chevy shop is on the job.
  14. I get that. I can't imagine being without one for any length of time.

    HELP!

Thanks, Ocn. To be honest, I'll be fine with the install being fast and dirty as long as it gets the job done.
  16. Easy project.
  17. Good luck with the project, Z. I wish mine had a similar budget.
  18. Sounds like the truck jones has you firmly in its grip.

    HELP!

That's for sure. It will also be nice to really get the driveway(s) clear again. I feel naked without a plow truck.
  20. An utter crapshoot at this point.

    HELP!

Whew! It's been a long, frustrating, day fighting all of the idiots relieving their cabin fever. Traffic everywhere, and accidents too, but I finally managed to get a transmission and deliver it to the shop. With any luck, the ROPOS will be ready for monday night's storm. I'm exhausted and stressed-out, but I've done all I can do to make it happen.
  22. I agree. Except that you might run afoul of copyright laws. I'd love to see some good digitized versions of such things.

    HELP!

Just struck a deal with a guy that has one, hope to pick it up in the AM tomorrow.

    HELP!

Uh oh, bad news, seems the one I've located is still in the truck and they won't pull it 'til the snow is gone. The hunt continues...
  25. All the best to you, Nick. And thank you for doing this for us all.
