  1. Wow, that's an amazing find (if totally impractical). It may be a local thing, but there are sooooo many Suburbans (and Yukon XLs/Escalades) around here that they don't bring a ton of cash. How tolerant are you of higher mileage examples? I may scan around a bit If you want me to.
  2. I remember all of those things, Hyper. But the simple fact is that Pontiac has been many different things over the long decades it has existed. Should it return, only its better incarnations should be offered.
  3. I'm willing to bet that you can get a decent Suburban for the same money, and have 80% of an Avalanche's capability.
  4. The Sunbird says nothing at all, if you know Pontiac you know better.
  5. Somewhere there is an editor with a red face.
  6. Absolutely! If I had a Camaro, the stereo would get lots of downtime. That sweet V8 music would win out.
  7. I found the Monsoon in my Firehawk to be pretty good - but I rarely used it. The Blaupunkt in the GTO was just so-so, but not bad after getting it all set (I used exactly the procedure you did, Loki).
  8. I'm not big on fake anything - I guess that includes these wheels/covers.
  9. I'd bias it to the speaker that can handle the most bass and work from there with EQ. Then again, if it's that much of a hassle something is a bit bogus.
  10. Very hard to be sure, but I think so. The two would be quite different, as would the price.
  11. Cool, might make a difference. The only other thing that came to mind for me is the fader setting - that can create the sort of EQ troubles you indicated if not set properly.
  12. Got it. Did you try a CD?
  13. Did you exclusively use the Ipod, or did you use other sources for music as well?
  14. Agreed on all counts, the Solstice was the first thing that came to mind for me as well.
  15. Rainy and chilly today, now becoming windy and colder. But, the last week has been a real gift given that it is March. It's usually a nasty month here, but not this year. The unusual warmth has put all of the plants into overdrive and I'm hoping we don't get a late frost that will trash them.

    Poor Rob

    Choice!
  17. A gorgeous white-on-red '71 Cutlass convertible cruising top down on Sunday. Sweet car.
  18. Reg, what you have posted is what we all have been thinking for the most part. To answer your question, I'd say that the two platform idea would be plenty if enough variants can spring from them. I wouldn't rule out using another platform if it fits the bill, however. I guess we'll see.
  19. Yup, GM websites still basically suck.
  20. Congrats, Roger! Glad to see you back in your natural habitat: a GMC!
  21. If only I still had my Pontiacs...
  22. Hope to hear the traction solution soon.
  23. There are certainly a number of different rare 4th gen cars.
