  1. Between the noise and the sights he must have seen in his mirrors, I expect he knew rather quickly.
  2. The scribblings of an asshat with an obvious bias. Worthless.
  3. For me it's all about the stance - perfect!
  4. Love those '64/'65 2-door Chevelle wagons! Yup, this Nova is a smaller phantom of those.
  5. Well, this car is everything I'd never want - but I guess it hit its mark. Nice interior (if a bit narrow) Ugly as sin outside, bloated and Japanese-looking. But then, that's what it competes with.
  6. I'll never get my new sig now...
  7. Nasty looking fire... And the way the HHR went all unstable makes me think that he broke something serious. Could have just been a bit of panic though - flames will do that to you.
  8. Wow! Great news. All the best, DF.
  9. God that's fast!
  10. Mothertruck? :AH-HA_wink:
  11. I thought Olds was first.
  12. Trouble is that there is no "and such".
  13. Found a close one, but not the one I was looking for: By CaminoLS6
  14. Somewhere along the line, I posted a great pic of an HSV Grange in black. Multiple searches have not led me back to it and the original source is no longer on the HSV site. It was a broadside pic (large and high-res), anyone know where it is?
  15. Why bring the G8 into this? Its numbers are not even indicative of its actual appeal (even though its sales were rising steadily in the face of impossible odds). G8 production, and especially GXP production, had its throat cut by GM itself. Market performance was ignored and promotion didn't exist. To judge the demand for such a car under those conditions is absurd.
  16. Found it on the same site: only 2286 SS396 verts in '68! Compare that with over 5000 SS396 Caminos and over 50,000 SS396 coupes!
  17. I tired to find my Chevelle book to answer the aluminum head question, but I have misplaced it. As for the strike, there was one in about '71 but I don't remember hearing about one affecting the '68s. I've seen a special order '70 Camino SS in Hugger Orange (not my thing).
  18. 1970 Chevelle paint codes: http://www.chevellestuff.com/1970/paint.htm
  19. Astro Blue is much lighter.
  20. First I've heard of a '68 with aluminum heads, that was a '69/'70 thing - and very rare. I'd have to check on production numbers, but I don't think '68 was light on the SS396. It's just that they have been overshadowed by the '69s and '70s by enthusiasts. Personally, I think that the '68s are ok but the '69s perfected that look.
  21. Fathom Blue on a '68 Chevelle SS: By CaminoLS6
