  1. Interesting. I'm not sure it is still the case, but I know that using any aftermarket brake pads on Hondas was considered to be a big mistake for years. For some reason, Hondas would eat the aftermarket pads in short order erasing the savings vs. Honda pads. Maybe Honda changed pad suppliers?
  2. No matter what "side" you are on, delay is deadly right now. This needs to be resolved - yesterday.
  3. Happy birthday!
  4. The ones that other people own...
  5. Damn! Both of those are really nice! Prices are quite high, I think.
  6. Bummer! They do like to camp out near borders.
  7. Yeah, me too.
  8. Cool.
  9. Don't confuse anger and frustration with defeatism.
  10. Kinda sad when you consider that I could get High teens to 20 MPG in my '70 SS El Camino with its tweaked LS5 454. The thing had about 400 or so horse and a 4spd. with 4.11 gears.
  11. You know, I have a real problem with the defeatist attitude of this piece and the use of "never" like a death sentence.
  12. That really is the only way...
  13. A quick end isn't how I'd describe it. This decision was made in a panic, and without due consideration - like most of GM's decisions involving Pontiac. The lie is the biggest problem I have with GM right now - you simply cannot trust their words anymore. Pontiac had a great deal more strong years than just ten - I'm quite sure you know this to be true. In fact, some of the darkest years of the industry saw huge market share and sales for PMD.
  14. To be fair, I didn't specify old or new. But yeah, my intent was new or at least recent. Seems like the Mini is a really good example of what sort of car I was talking about. Broad appeal - even beyond real intenders Recent Audi coupes belong on my list, I think.
  15. A very nice '87 T-top GN out for a holiday cruise.
  16. What "gets your attention" but is completely different than what you'd normally go for? In other words, what says "hey, I'm worth a second look", despite being a configuration you generally wouldn't consider? I ask this because I think that is where the winners in the market are to be found. I'm not saying that you'd necessarily follow through with a purchase of a given example, but that it engenders a level of positive respect that you can't quite deny. An example of such a product that just barely fits this category for me is the Ford Flex - it is interesting and individual enough that I have to give it some credit. Others are more automatic entries on my list (HHR,Solstice,Mini...) List 'em!
  17. Seriously doubt it. It would be a better fit at Chevy anyway, leaving more distance between it and the CTS wagon.
  18. This still smarts. Yes, Pontiac could, and should, have been saved. But then, it should not have been made to suffer under idiots for so long. Who killed Pontiac? Incompetent GM management can be the only answer.
  19. Saw a '64 Impala SS vert yesterday in maroon as well as a black '67 Charger. Just saw a '67 Chevelle Vert in Marina blue, the driver was eyeballing my wagon as I drove past.
  20. Very few are rentals - there just aren't that many to begin with.
  21. Interesting. I despise the W-body for a whole host of reasons, yet the good stuff (as posted in pic form here) outweighs that fact. I still love so much GM product, because I don't judge the good stuff through the lens of the crap like Satty does. I dismiss the crap within seconds as unimportant to me. To use Satty's example of Solara vs. Monte Carlo - I'd walk past both of them without taking any notice whatsoever.
  22. Sweet-looking truck! And, I don't feel guilty at all.
  23. Yeah, now it's just roadside litter!
  24. Hope it's a good one.
