  1. Check out this thread: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...granny&st=0 The car was mega clean, and has required no repairs as of yet. Unfortunately, he has crunched it twice now so it doesn't look so nice anymore. But who cares? The car is doing the job and he doesn't have to sweat the bumps and bruises too much.
  2. Absolutely! I always look for granny cars when a beater needs to be found. Best bang for the buck in cheap transportation that you'll ever find.
  3. A fool and his money...
  4. That's not the case with the dealership near me. The Cadillac showroom is a separate building about 100' away from the BPG building. The place is up to date and nicely landscaped with planting beds making an obvious border between the showrooms. I could be wrong, but I'd bet that the Caddy franchise provides nearly the volume that the BPG franchise does. They sell alot of Cadillacs and have a pretty big inventory.
  5. There is a BPG/Cadillac dealer around the corner from me, but they have a separate showroom for Caddy. Nice, big facility on decent piece of ground with a good layout.
  6. I decided to take a walk down "memory lane": http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=19584
  7. Well, I have only voted for a major party candidate once - so that's not really at issue. But, I have a bad feeling about the next few years and want to give this decision my full consideration. I really believe it matters this go 'round.
  8. For once, I really don't hate to say: I Told You So! :rotflmao:
  9. No-brainer parts-bin special. Look at these as incremental help for CAFE and a way to maintain a top rating for a tiny investment. Exciting? No. Logical? Yes.
  10. No vote cast is ever a vote thrown away if it represents what you believe.
  11. There are several ways to interpret that. Are you considering third party candidates?
  12. On that front, seems to me that the gov't should "get out of the businesss".
  13. The addendum stands on its own fairly well, but the original ought to be seen first IMHO.
  14. I highly recommend both, and would be very curious as to your reaction. Especially to certain aspects. They are extremely thought-provoking.
  15. I don't feel like I need more information really, I just have to weigh the options a bit more. And decide if I will be voting soley on principle or soley on pragmatism. There is no candidate which provides both.
  16. I don't want to turn this thread into a "wish list", but there are so many things that we could be doing so much better. I guess I just see energy independence as something whose time has come and I don't want to see another opportunity lost. It's a strike-while-the-iron-is-hot bit of thinking on my part. That's why I chose it as my lead issue.
  17. She was at a complete loss for words at my nuetral response. It was actually dead air for a few seconds before she managed a weak "thank you" and "goodbye". I expected maybe a polite attempt to get my support for her candidate, or "well, I hope you see it our way", or maybe "that other guy is no good because". There was just... nothing. Very odd.
  18. Oldsmoboi: Have you seen this film (or the first one)?
  19. Can't argue with you on that. Maybe I should have clarified what I meant by "expect". I was thinking in terms of expecting something from them in the way you might "expect " your child to do better in school.
  20. That's a relief, I was avoiding bringing that up.
  21. The only undecided voter left at C&G, that is.

  23. I think we need a refresher. :AH-HA_wink: Energy Independence!
