  1. Cire: I agree with most of what you propose, but some of the details and one of the main ideas simply are not workable. Main point: Chevrolet and Pontiac cannot co-exist at the same dealership, if for no other reason than that Chevy already has more models than many dealers can effectively inventory. Detail #1: There is simply no way that Corvette and Camaro buyers will ever accept the Pontiac badge on their cars. The idea would reap only ridicule and sales disaster. Detail#2: Just as I left out a fun, small FWD/AWD Mini competitor for Pontiac, so did you. We are both wrong to have done so. Otherwise, I love the idea of rolling Saturn into a sub-brand of Buick and slowly dissolving the stand alone Saturn stores. It would be a slow and expensive process, but in time it could create positive results. Far better than taking the easy way out by starving Pontiac out of existence, just because it's easier to do. Making corporate decisions like that stems from a negative assumption, not a positive one, and so is doomed from the outset to failure. Saturn has proven that it lacks the strength to stand alone, and by virtue of that fact it, and not Pontiac, needs to be the target for consolidation. Such a consolidation need not be at the expense of Pontiac.
  2. Thanks. They are lucky that they aren't ugly. :AH-HA_wink: ...especially Arkus!
  3. You can see good pics of "The Boys" in this thread: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...98&hl=Arkus
  4. It seems to be a permanent reality. I have to keep them apart at all times with no slip ups - or there will be blood. That's why Arkus lives in his crate unless one of them is outside. It's a royal pain, but I've gotten used to it. And Arkus sees the crate as his bed - so it works.
  5. Nice to see lucid responses to this, I had half expected to be shouted down by the Chicken Littles.
  6. It's all about optimizing each package with the proper powerplant, it is just that V6s are applied wholesale and sloppy. So it's time to cull the herd a bit.
  7. Oh yeah, it's interesting. And yes, he's a mess. But I was just joking about selling him off. Even with all of the hassles, both dogs are mine to a degree that our situation is permanent. As long as they live, they will live with me. Ocn: Most Malamutes are very quiet - Arkus is an exception (lucky me).
  8. Both Zora and Arkus have done the skunk thing already.
  9. That sums up the problem nicely, the way GM has run Pontiac defines malpractice. GME should bugger-off and let Pontiac and Holden do what they do best without any interference from Europe. I wouldn't want one of those "vaunted" Opels anyway, they are nothing to get excited about (as proven by Saturn sales). So screw GME and what it wants, Pontiac needs Holden and a few good GMNA-built models on Alpha, Zeta, and whatever replaces Kappa.. European connections not required. And if Caddy doesn't like it, they need to STFU as well.
  10. Infinitely better than the Aveo, but still falls short.
  11. Doubtful, but possible. But that's not enough.
  12. He'd love that!
  13. welbutrin?
  14. Insignia is frumpy at best, the Regal is the same.
  15. ...and that's why Pontiac matters.
  16. The one I have actually runs - sort of. It is a commercial mower and the design makes it look at least a decade older than it is. I love the brand name too: GIANT MOW
  17. I'll trade him a broken down walk-behind mower from the 70's. Even up!
  18. I especially like all the nasty brake dust on the front wheels.
  19. I bought one pair of sunglasses when I was about 12, haven't worn any since. And I haven't owned a bike since I was about 15, when mine was stolen. I got my first car and all interest in bikes evaporated.
  20. I had Arkus out running around the place a while back, and he disappeared from view just long enough for me to know that it meant trouble (with Arkus that's about a minute or so). So I start calling him. He still doesn't show up. Just as I'm about to jump in the Silverado to hunt him down, he rounds the bend from behind the barn. Carrying a fox in his mouth. I yell at him and he drops the fox, and crawls over to me (realizing that he's screwed-up again). So I grab a hold of of him thinking that I'll need to put a wounded fox out of its misery. When I looked up, the fox was running away (looking pretty pissed-off). I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking I'd gotten off easy. A few weeks went by and Arkus started scratching alot and barking in his crate at night. So I gave him the once-over and discovered that he was losing fur on his ears at an alarming rate. It hit me then that the fox had left something behind: mange! Thanks to that, I had to take both dogs to the vet (separate trips) to get them treated because mange tends to be very contagious. So, $300.00 dollars later, both dogs have been treated and Arkus is improving. But he has decided that he likes to bark at night to get my attention. I should have named him "Murphy", because if there is anything around that could get him in trouble, he goes directly for it.
  21. I checked out the site. Those are renders he did for his project car! That guy is good! Very, very, good.
  22. Well, you could get out the torch and return it to actual Camino dimensions. Otherwise, it's a parts car.
  23. Front fenders. I'm not usually a fan of lake pipes, but they are perfect on these. The red one, at least, is lowered. Tasteful and perfect. I may build one myself someday. :AH-HA_wink:
  24. Not to mention hybrid tech such as used in the Tahoe, or active fuel management, or smaller displacements, or gaseous fuels...
