  1. Amen.
  2. The Edge seems to be popular around here - I see them daily.
  3. Not really, it is still hiding just under the surface. I'm still riveted as soon as an image of the towers flashes across my TV or computer screen.
  4. Glad to see you back, BV. I'm guessing Honda.
  5. I know the feeling. I'm hoping for some barn time this weekend.
  6. I've always liked these cars. They make you stop and stare no matter who you are.
  7. I've always hated the production version of the G6, and this does nothing to change that fact.

  9. The Citation (and its X-car siblings) were the beginning of the worst period ever in GM history. But... They were advertised massively. Edit: I love that Chevelle ad.
  10. I can't argue with Enzora.
  11. Say what you want about West Virginia, but it is a beautiful state. If I ever give up on PA., it will probably be a New England state that I'd land in.
  12. Exactly. As well as a balance between drivetrain layouts, fuels used, equiptment offered, and Bodystyles!
  13. Yes. And it helps - alot. Overall a nice, clean design from what can be seen.
  14. CADILLAC TOP BRAND, GM HAS 11 CATEGORY WINNERS IN AUTOPACIFIC AWARDS .... Cadillac was named the top brand among all sold in the U.S., and eleven GM vehicles were the top in their categories in AutoPacific's 2008 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). The awards were based on the results of AutoPacific's 2008 model year vehicle satisfaction research that measures how satisfied an owner is with their new passenger car or light truck. The brand with the highest satisfaction rating is Cadillac. The vehicle - car or truck - registering highest overall satisfaction in 2008 is the new Toyota Sequoia Large Sport Utility Vehicle. The passenger car with the highest overall satisfaction score is the Mercedes-Benz S Class. GM's other vehicles that rated highest in their category are: Cadillac CTS - Aspirational Luxury Car; Cadillac DTS - Large Luxury Car; Chevrolet HHR - Image Compact Car; Saturn Sky - Sports Car; Cadillac Escalade EXT - Large Light Duty Pickup Truck; Chevrolet Silverado HD - Large Heavy Duty Pickup Truck; Cadillac Escalade/Cadillac Escalade ESV - Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle; Buick Enclave - Luxury Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle; GMC Acadia - Large Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle; HUMMER H3 - Mid-Size Sport Utility Vehicle; and Saturn Vue - Mid-Size Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle. There are twenty-eight Vehicle Satisfaction Award categories. At the manufacturer level, multiple top-ranked award winners include: General Motors (eleven categories), Toyota (nine categories), Ford (six categories), Volkswagen (four categories), Honda (three categories) and Hyundai (two categories). "Cadillac wins the Vehicle Satisfaction Award as the top brand in a close race. Strong satisfaction performance by Cadillac cars and trucks has Cadillac winning over other leading luxury marques including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW," says AutoPacific President George Peterson. "Top ranked finishes by Cadillac's Escalade, CTS and DTS helped cement their industry topping position." 15. There were big block Chevelle wagons before '73. Yes, you could get a 454 in a Chevelle/El Camino until '75. The SS Chevelle was still available in '73, supplanted by the Laguna after that. But the El Camino SS continued uninterrupted through the rest of its production. In fact, in '73 (and only in '73) you could have purchased a 454 SS Chevelle wagon.
  16. GM's problems all stem from the constant shifting of their game plan and an idiotic focus on single "magic bullet" approaches instead of using their size and brand structure to offer a Variety of approaches to the automobile. Keep this variety in production at all times and shift quantities from one type to another as the market shifts, and you won't keep getting caught flat-footed the way GM always does. You can't just sell half a dozen versions of a full-size truck and 47 versions of FWD sedans and expect anyone to care. It's so flipping basic, and they used to do it better than anyone. What the hell is wrong with these guys?
  17. Bunk! GM blew it with Zeta: too little and a decade too late. Too many delays. Too much indecision. Too many course changes. Too many name changes. And now, to add insult to injury, they toss Zeta aside while completely ignoring the fact that it can meet the goals that it would need to to remain relevant in the market. Nothing but bold new product will ever save GM, and yet they toss this wonderful potentail aside in favor of the same old bland crap no one has wanted for decades. And yes, I'm pissed about it.
  18. Very cool to see these pics. A bright spot in dark times. Cars like that embody freedom - something we should all celebrate. Same for the Camaro and the Mustang. May there always be at least a few of the like on the market.
  19. Agreed. But there are other ways.
  20. I came very close to buying one of these that was a factory 396 car back when I was a kid. This auction makes me wish I had. I'd love to find a factory Big-block Chevelle wagon.
  21. The most important post in this thread. It's time to end oil's control over our economy, by bringing forward competition for it in the marketplace as fast as humanly possible.
  22. I'm really glad to see so many taking this situation seriously, and I'll have much more to say on the matter when I'm not dead tired. I really do believe that it is essential that we begin to examine the fundamental things within our society - what it is supposed to be as well as what the current reality actually is. We've strayed... badly.
  23. Thanks for that bit of good news, 'Biz. As for the imbecile professor and his ilk: we must not allow them to reproduce. Such utter foolishness. So completely full of crap.
  24. Me likey.
  25. Very, very, cool. Yes please to more pics!
