  1. The proportions of a truck or SUV allow an entirely different sort of styling parameter. And, no, they don't look bull-nosed to me. Well, except for the Tundra with its pig snout. On a car, this looks like a zit on the end of a nose. Why should we suffer such a styling affront simply because you Europeans have no choice? I honestly can't see why you would argue this point. European cars would all look better without this silly regulation. I certainly can't see why we should also be subjected to it.
  2. That can, and must be, fixed.
  3. Has something happened, PCS?
  4. Not true about Hydrogen any longer. No thanks to an all-electric future - that just shifts the problem to electric generation. And , they are about as exciting as watching paint dry. These cars will have their place to be sure, but not as the dominant system. BTW: The incentive to get alt fuels into the market grows daily.
  5. I have no issue with the next Camaro being on Alpha, in fact it would be a more appropriate size for that car. However, Zeta is the perfect size for so many other products that I'd hate to see taken down to Alpha proportions. I believe that Zeta is the ideal place for all of the former SUV owners to find their next car.
  6. I'd venture a guess that we will be seeing a semi-permanent reduction in the full-size truck market by the time fuel prices finally stabilize. Toyota will be left holding a very expensive bag at that point. Ford and Chevy will trim back as needed, but this change is likely to tighten their grip on what remains of the market going forward. But. The compact truck market could be anyone's at this point. That's going to be an interesting arena to watch.
  7. Exactly. The Tundra has been one misadventure after another, and now the environment has become tough for the established players let alone Toyota. I'd have to say that the trucks (especially the Tundra) have to be the biggest blunder ever made by Toyota in our market. That, by itself, is of great significance.
  8. Apples and oranges (and decades of difference). Trucks are the topic here, and Balthazar is right. Toyota has a mess on their hands in the truck department.

    Me want

I have been keeping my eye on an early C3 convertible for a very long time now. If/when I have some spare cash I may make a play for it.
  10. Can't entirely agree here, Croc. Ethanol is already more viable than you may think. Biodiesel has huge issues of compatibility with common rail diesels and more conventional ones as well with higher concentrations. Then there is the cold weather issue. That said, it all needs to happen asap. I'd rather not have to brew it up on my own, but I will if it comes down to that.
  11. To a point yeah, it does. But when it starts to sap energy I'd call it a tossup.
  12. Not feasible. The market will have changed significantly by the time the lines could be changed over to another product. They'd be chasing their tails.
  13. I'm tired of waiting. There is nothing in my area and I want to get off of oil now.
  14. Immaterial. The bull nose look is an enforced ugliness we can avoid here - and we should. Everytime.
  15. But not at the expense of Zeta!
  16. Maybe I should put the snowplow on the Silverado first...
  17. Congrats Sharmer! I spent most of my life like Supersport, never went past about 155 pounds in my life. Now I'm just a tad out of shape - must be time to start "living hard" again. :AH-HA_wink: Although I do wonder what will happen if I ever manage to quit smoking...
  18. I'll leave it to you guys to interpret my comments. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. I think we need to form a posse with Capriceman and head to New England.
  20. No surprises here, the current environment is what it is.

    Me want

You offered more than I would have. Besides, I'd rather have an honest, clean, base coupe than any Fake (Cloned) SS anyway.
  22. I'd rather see an Alpha AWD, but this is an option. NO FWD though - Pontiac needs to move away from mediocrity.
  23. Yeah. Too bad really.
