  1. That's just sad.
  2. Great minds...
  3. Every time I glance at the list of lounge topics, my brain wants to read this one as " Can I borrow your car for porn?"
  4. Good history on that one.

  6. Killer pics at that link, Mouse! Thanks for posting it.

So sorry, KC. Everyone here will be thinking of you.
  8. Major letdown. The current Aura is much, much, better looking. This really looks like a Toyota. Yuck!
  9. Actually, Dodge changed the name from Demon to Dart Sport because of religious objections. Same car.
  10. This is the place. We have specific places for just about everything, but this forum is the catchall. If what you want to post doesn't fit in any of our categories, post it here.
  11. Agreed. Rainwater control maybe? IDK, it is an odd feature.
  12. I think that may have something to do with the availablility of a convertible in the later cars. Oh, and more pics please.
  13. Saw some interesting stuff today: - Perfect 55-57 T-bird in turquoise, top down and out for a cruise. - Equally perfect VW Thing in a glossy dark Olive color, also top down and cruising. - "66 El Camino in not so perfect white, but with an SS hood and grill emblem, cruising fast. - '70 C10 Chevy pickup in what was left of the original two tone (red w/ white roof) Every panel was well worn and at least a little bent, except for the hood which looked newish and in black primer. Rockers were gone. It looked like it just drove away from 15 years of "field storage", but the straight six started up instantly with almost no sound from the starter. It idled in near silence and then pulled away with that distinctive stovebolt six exhaust note. Not a whiff of smoke or any nasty sounds at all. The truck was a different kind of "sleeper".
  14. Obviously, I'd rather not. However, what the car is and how "right" it is otherwise make rust repair something I'd be willing to deal with to a certain degree and for certain cars. It is only one factor in how I judge a classic car I'm considering. If you can't deal with any rust issues, you'd better have a big wallet when it comes to classics. If this car had been more "unmolested" but looked worse, I actually would have been more interested in it. As it was, it could have been finished in a way that would have hidden most of the rust issues - but that's not the way I do things. I would have taken the car down to zero and started over - and it just wasn't "right" enough in other respects for me to take that plunge.
  15. I don't want to think about that, Reg. The Vue is so dumpy/frumpy that I can't imagine the wreath and crest improving it much.
  16. Yeah, but any factory 4spd. Camino gets my instant attention. But nothing will really replace the Spacetruck but another fat block with a manual. Especially wrapped in 1970 sheetmetal. I get the feeling that when I get another one, it won't require me to restore it. I could be wrong about that though.
  17. Now that I think about it, all of my project cars are fundamentally more solid than the SS I saw today.
  18. Very true,Z. To be fair, all exterior sheetmetal on this one is excellent. The trouble is that they didn't really fix what was underneath first. That, and lots of other details turned me off to the car. If it had been what I was expecting, I might have moved mountains to own it. As it turned out, I got a bad vibe from all the work that would need to be done a second time to make it really right. Project Camino would have only suffered slightly if I had gotten this one. I would have toned down the drivetrain plans, but that's it. I am committed to finishing that project. This car would have gone into deep storage until the rest were finished.
  19. Lots of little things were wrong. It was worth more than bid so far, but I couldn't deal with the doubtful stuff and the way the work on it had been done. Better to let this one slide.
  20. Saw several of each out and about today, my vote is even more firmly for the Edge now. The new Vue is puketastic to look at.
  21. Probably on the rear, the frame itself, possibly stamped into the sheetmetal of an A pillar etc. Law enforcement has access to the location of all "hidden" VINs. They will be able to tell. Good luck catching the bastards!
  22. To be honest, I never liked the Sprite. The Healeys I used to maintain were 100-4s.
  23. The Mothertruck project is safe... for the moment. I decided against this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...A:IT&ih=016
  24. Went to see it today and decided against it. Close, but no cigar. This is the listing that got me all hot and bothered: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...A:IT&ih=016
