  1. Best radio in the world.
  2. It is that bad - I suffered through it and have permanent scars as a result. Worst decade of music so far by a factor of 10.
  3. They won't darken my diveway - ever. That Camino would be most welcome though.
  4. What a parade of junk! The 80s produced the most awful cars as well as the most awful music - the decade is best forgotten.
  5. Corn is only a temporary/supplemental source for ethanol production. I wouldn't invest much in a company that relies on corn-sourced ethanol - it will soon be outclassed. However, E-85 is the most viable alternative we have and Coskata's approach is a winner. GM has backed the right horse on this one. With that said, locally produced and consumed cord-based ethanol still makes sense. Once you try to ship either the corn or the finished product great distances, the viability falls off quickly. Even at a reduced viability, corn-ethanol is still a good thing as it remains a domestic fuel. We will need all of the sources and techologies being developed for alternative fuels for quite some time as we move away from oil. Too bad that bio-diesel isn't as promising as E-85 right now, we need both in mass quantity ASAP.
  6. I certainly don't choose the "safe" route all the time. Actually, I think the notion of safety is grossly overrated. I actually don't care if my car is airbag equipped or if it has the latest safety features - it simply isn't a factor in my buying decision. What I do object to is the addiction to ever more stringent safety regs that make our cars more expensive, uglier, more complex, heavier, and less efficient. Pedestrian safety standards and attempting to make trucks and SUVs safer for the small cars of the world to run into just ticks me off. Buyer beware, if safety is your main desire buy a Suburban, otherwise take your chances.
  7. I will only say this: PCS is the real deal. I know this to be fact - 'nuf said.
  8. If you choose to drive a small, low, car, you also have chosen to take your chances. Life isn't safe - choose accordingly.
  9. Growing up we always referred to them as Honda "accordions" , I guess we were on the mark with the name. That old Commodore deserves the name as well it would seem, I wonder what the speed of that test was.
  10. I would very much like to have a copy of this book!
  11. Thankfully, Z & A have eased up on the chewing of things they shouldn't. Each of them has a giant nylon bone that helps out quite a bit and Arkus loves to demolish sticks when he's outside.
  12. Congrats on the article, CD.
  13. I love this thread!
  14. The chewing on you will ease up shortly, it's the chewing on everything else you need to watch. My first Malamute literally ate pices of furniture and part of a staircase before he matured. Zora and Arkus have never been quite that bad, but if Arkus doesn't get some quality chew time in every day, he gets even more nuts than usual. Go for the hard nylon bones - nothing else will survive. :AH-HA_wink:
  15. All of the Brands. Some more than others and some only once.
  16. Bad news dude, the chewing never stops. It will mellow eventually, but Malamutes have a real need to chew all of their lives. Not sure about the Husky side of things, but I'd expect a similar situation with them. Mal pups chew much longer than most puppies do, but they can learn not to chew certain things. Good luck!
  17. The assumption that ethanol production will depend on corn is a fatal flaw in the argument. Corn is a very temporary feedstock for ethanol production, so the author's premise is based on an incorrect assumption.
  18. Your facts are out of date.
  19. Nice thread. I'd post, but all of you have seen too many pics of "The Boys" already. Some very cool critters posted so far! YJ: Niko is a very cool pup, makes me "remember when".
  20. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. :AH-HA_wink: I haven't been around, and won't be around much for a while due to personal reasons - but I'll be back. As for Fly, it is a perplexing situation which, on some levels, needs to be resolved. I will say that none of us (staff included) understands or can explain what is going on with him. And that's all I have to say on the topic in a public forum.
  21. Cool stuff, BV.
  22. FOG has nailed it.
  23. Correct. '94 was the last year for the Blazer nameplate.
  24. All but G8 and Solstice. The rest just suck and need to be replaced with superior designs.
