  1. Unreal. Someone has actually bid over four grand for this little piece of the malaise! And, the reserve hasn't been met. I'd give you about a dollar for each mile it has gone, and not a penny more (have to make a small profit when I dump it at the scrap yard).
  2. Might just have to do this and figure the rest out later. The Tahoe needs some downtime so I can puff it up a bit.
  3. Thanks for taking a look! It seems all of the trucks in New England need brake lines - bloody salt!
  4. My feelings exactly. This car was a POS from day one - too bad she didn't opt for a Cutlass coupe.
  5. Guess what? This one was finally relisted, and this time they remembered to put a phone # in the ad. It would be nice to have such a simple truck with low miles and a manual. Not sure how to fit it into my overall plan though.
  6. The thing is, pricing on plow trucks will only get worse after this month. And, I had hoped to keep the momentum from selling the vette going...
  7. That's the one. Not thrilled with the miles, but right now it is a leading candidate. Seriously thinking about the '98 Suburban I posted earlier in the thread too. It has no plow but is clean and has a fresh drivetrain. Also tempted to just bag it all for now.
  8. I did find something that would be a half-solution, a 2-door Yukon with a plow and 110k miles. It could replace the Tahoe, and I could keep my eyes open for a truck or work on finishing Mothertruck with the Tahoe money. Not the quick, replace two with one, solution I want - but it would be a step forward.
  9. Very nice looking, and thanks for offering to do the legwork, but without a plow and being a 1500 I will have to pass.
  10. Well, the requirements are what they are. Nothing will satisfy all of the wants, but the basics have to be met. I've found plenty of high mileage examples locally that have decent bodies, and a pair of low-mileage examples with rotted bodies and structure. I just want to find a low mileage truck with a plow and a decent body. I want it to be nice enough that I can dump the ROPOS and the Tahoe. But I may have to just replace one at a time.
  11. Thanks for the efforts BP, but I think I'll stay closer to home and bide my time a bit. Might even re-think the parameters. I've been hoping for an all-in-one solution, and that may be just too hard to find.
  12. Thanks for all of the well wishes and suggestions, I'm just going to brush myself off and continue. That truck would be tempting BP, if it already had a plow. I'll just keep my eyes open and take a breath for now.
  13. Bloodied, but recovering.
  14. Both trucks were far more rotted than I could stomach, had to say no. Then, couldn't find a way home until 68 came to the rescue and volunteered to drive me back. I arrived to find that the dogs had had an awful fight. Just not a very good 36 hour period.
  15. Epic fail. The search goes on. Nice truck Roger, but I'm done with financing car purchases so that one is not in budget.
  16. That's true, I expect to drive one of them home. No big thing on the hour meter, the miles are enough for me to make a judgement looking at the two.
  17. Yeah, he has two equipped the same way. The other one has 66k on it, but looks better and is dark blue metallic.
  18. Off to Mass in the morning, and I'll have two of these to choose from. Going to be a long day.
  19. Way too many to list, but this is the important one: 1970 El Camino SS 454 LS6 4spd.
  20. I think the wheelbase is too long to make a pickup, and it isn't 4x4, so it's not for me. Would make a good stakebody or dump truck though.
  21. Good stuff! The barn is way overdue for this sort of attention...
  22. Man! I hope I can do that! I love that car. If I go, this will be a flying trip. Get there, buy the truck, drive home. The dogs can only cross their legs for so long...
  23. The Vette left on a trailer just before noon today. Had a little fun, learned a lot about Vettes, made a couple of bucks. Feel pretty good about the whole thing. Next!...
  24. I pretty much set on a low-mileage unit, Roger. I think I'll be making that trip north.
