  2. Very tough call for me - several of these were our actual family cars when I was quite little. Jeep wagon just like the pic 2-door Studebaker Lark wagon (and my grandmother had a 4-door) We also had an International Travelall ( a few years later) Can't decide.
  3. The first car I ever drove was a '61 Falcon coupe.
  4. H-bodies made great drag cars, and now they are hyper-rare, cool project. That doesn't look like a Starfire nose, Monza transplant?
  5. Interesting project.
  6. For doing any real work, none of these would fit the bill. That said, among the choices the Camino is an easy choice - short of 4x4 capacity, it can do anything the others can in greater style and comfort, and with more power.
  7. Just the opposite for me. This new truck looks to be a leaner and trimmer design with sharp creases - I much prefer that to the soft, rounded look of the 800s. I also never liked how none of the front panels ever really met (grille, fender, hood) that loose overlap design was just so odd. I'd be very happy to see a strong GMT400 design influence in the new trucks.
  8. That thing is moments away from folding itself in half.
  9. If ordered with a straight six, three on the tree (and some stealthy option choices) wouldn't this qualify?
  10. Can only have one car? Not sure I can do that...
  11. My window AC units are being overmatched by the insane heat - really want this to be over, but no relief is in sight.
  12. Seems to me that the 14% drop indicates just how bad drivers are to begin with.
  13. Thanks guys, and birthday salutations to my birthday brothers.
  14. Yeah, no 2-door Travelall. Still, the Scout was a competitor with all the rest on this list (once it became the Scout II).
  15. Most likely, but some small differences probably exist (spoiler holes, locking mechanism, etc.) EDIT: The only time a major difference could have occurred was when they went from the small backlight (70-73) to the big wrap-around version ('74-81). I don't think the change affected the decklid, but it is possible.
  16. Probably bolts-up to earlier second gens too..
  17. Sorry I didn't see this sooner - definitely Z/28 ( '78-'81, I think).
  18. They were all rust magnets in '78. Actually I think 78 or 79 GM dramatically improved their rust proofing.... Very capable vehicle, one of my best high school friends had one of those, ti was a hoot to hoon around in.... Trust me, the '78s and the '79s rotted away just like the '73-'77s did. When they changed the bodystyle in '81 things did get alot better on the rust front. I'm pretty familiar with all of these, and have done wheel time in most of them back when they were new/newish, and I'd take the Scout over all of them.
  19. Another option left out of the poll:
  20. They were all rust magnets in '78.

    A fine smoky burnout.
