  1. Oops, missed that '93 part.
  2. Ha ha, I meant to post that! Thanks.
  3. A generator? or... Maybe an S2000
  4. I think its cool right now, I love my GTO!
  5. I will be there on Thursday (just to drop off the car),Friday (the car hits the auction), and Saturday (hopefully to buy parts, not bring the car home).
  6. And here is a promise: I will never, ever, buy a new FWD car. This is not negotiable in any way - period.
  7. Sure he is, if rwd fans just wanted V8s, we'd just buy trucks and FWD v8s. ANY powerplant is more fun in RWD configuration Do I want my Zeta witha V8? Yes, of course I do. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy an inline6 BMW or a Solstice with a four.
  8. I'm sorry Bob, I just can't love these cars.
  9. I ordered the front-end kit and new springs today, so I guess I'll have to get out to the barn and get some work done in the cold so the frame is ready when the parts arrive. Then I have to get ready to take the Maserati to the Carlisle auction. It is going to be a busy week.
  10. Good! My Silverado is hungry.
  11. "Tin soldiers and Nixon's gone..."
  12. These cars are what GM used to "replace" most of the GM cars I actually liked, and for two decades I've had to look at them. Yup, I hate them, and can't wait to see them go to that great salvage yard in the sky.
  13. To me they are the rolling reminders of the bad old days at GM, and I can't wait for that era to pass into oblivion.
  14. Sorry, but I'll be grinning ear-to-ear while you sob. I really hate those cars.
  15. Heard that! Nasty outside.
  16. I just seems like it is taking forever to dump these barges. I can't wait 'til the last one rolls of the line, I think I'll pop open a bottle of champagne.
  17. There are shops that specialize in calibrating speedos, call around. I'm amazed at how small (short) that engine compartment is - that rad support is WAY back from the front of the car.
  18. No, the auto tag places are independent businesses. Can anyone in Virginia give him a lead on one?
  19. Insane. April 16th and a Nor'easter with flooding rain and heavy wind and accumulating snow! Terrible here, raging wind , heavy slush on the roads, trees down everywhere, power failures, roads closed, transit lines down, state of emergency in NJ, flooded homes. Sheesh! When the wind and snow calm down, I'm going to have tons of cleanup to do. Hope the chainsaw starts. And I'm supposed to take the Maserati to a collecter car auction in two days? What's wrong with this picture?
  20. The biggest problems in Carlisle are : 1. the backup at the turnpike toll booths 2. finding parking
  21. I hope the Democrats have someone else up their sleeves, I can't stand any of the current contenders. As for the Republicans, only McCain is worth listening to. The rest of them just piss me off on a regular basis.
  22. Good advice,Supersport. Both of those cars are do-able, but the T-type is pretty rough. Given the choice, I'd go with the Formula and fix its problems rather than turning it into a project (at least for now). It REALLY sucks when your project is also your daily driver (been there, done that). The Formula would be easier and cheaper to fix up, has and will have more value, and can be modded in many ways since the aftermarket caters to f-bodies. It will also be easier to sell when the time comes. The T-type would be better as a parts car for a decent one.
  23. Thanks to Black and Blue and BatmanVW helping out this afternoon and evening, A great deal of progress was made. The firewall and cowl are as stripped as they will be getting, and the sanding and cleaning is well underway in that area. The calipers and rotors, dust-shields,shocks,crossmember, and power steering pump are off, and the suspension has been broken down to a point that in a few hours I will have the frame as bare as it will get. I can almost smell the paint now. Meanwhile the new torque converter and kickdown cable were installed on the freshly rebuilt transmission, and it was mounted to the engine. It was nice to see a few things going back together rather than coming apart for a change. Thumbs:
