  1. According to local radio, this is the coldest Easter Sunday in 37 years!
  2. This morning I saw what I'd guess was a late 50's Rolls Royce with antique plates. Hard to be sure on the year as these didn't change much over the years.
  3. I want to know the specifics.
  4. Interesting, but it doesn't change the fundamental stupidity of this idea.
  5. Crazy weather for months now here, waaay too cold for April this week with nights in the 20s and lots of wind. Ticks me off.
  6. Do it, it will build character. Oh, and this advice comes from a Scot who has never worn a kilt!
  7. Great pics,68!
  8. These three are not Corolla sized, and while I think they fit the tiny car market just fine, it is the entire segment I was commenting on. Americans just don't want a car this small generally - no matter who makes it. The Corolla isn't in the micro/mini car segment, it is in the cheap POS segment. By that, I don't mean to single it out, everyone makes one. Call it the cheap transportation segment if you like, another segment that doesn't do well here (locally). I see hordes of Camrys, and way too many prius', but I never see a Corolla. The same holds true for other manufacturers, again locally. GM has many great products, though I agree on the marketing issue. Do they need a better Aveo? Perhaps, but I think it is a segment that they are obligated to be in rather than one that will help the bottom line much, if at all.
  9. Just an aside: I seem to do better personally when the economy is in the crapper, I have no idea why. In boomtimes, I seem to be left out in the cold.
  10. Interestingly, the '02 Firehawk was very quiet as compared to the GTO. Both got a bit louder with age, but the GTO always let's you know that an LS1 lives under the hood. Even so, the cabin is very solid and quiet and if the car had a more docile engine or exhaust, you'd hear very little sound.
  11. How did I miss all of this?! Ocn, you've done a fine job on the Sierra - I love it! This truck so has to be on next year's calendar!
  12. I'm a little amazed that I have yet to modify my GTO in any way. Maybe I never will, I like it so much just as it is.
  13. Yup I'm thinking of post-'77 forgetable cars like the Parisienne, LeSabre coupes, and Caprices - all of which I have seen with V6 engines.
  14. Hmmm, let's see... - The GTO,Firehawk and Maserati make beautiful music and the two Pontiacs are pretty quiet at cruising speed due to low revs. - The Duramax is the quietest diesel I have ever driven car or truck - Before I yanked the engine the Camino was dead quiet inside (but won't be when I'm done) Never been big on the "can't hear the engine" thing.
  15. Tiny cars just don't play well in the American market beyond short phases of oil panic. We Americans don't really like them, and in many local markets you can't give them away. Around here you can sell the hell out of a Prius or a Mini Cooper, but you can't give a Yaris or Aveo away. The local Chevy dealer just doesn't stock them and even the Monte Carlo sells better.
  16. Its going to be a bit chilly for some of that, Z! This weather is killing me, the projects are piling-up. I know I'll be busy this weekend no matter what I choose to do.
  17. I'm guessing that there won't be any other black Maserati Biturbos there, so I shouldn't be too hard to find. :AH-HA_wink: B&BL : I'm going to take it up on the trailer a day or so ahead of the auction, but you are welcome to ride along. The car will hit the auction block at 4:25 P.M. on Friday, so I'll be going back on Saturday.
  18. Anyone else going to be there?
  19. For a new car, about three years or so. Any older car, evrything from a few weeks to a decade or more. Why? Simple! So many cars, so little time. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. Will do on the Dodge, I have to get it out of winter storage mode soon anyway. My mother wants to hit the local club's big spring show in May, so I have to get on that. Maserati is headed for auction at Carlisle this month, the Jag to ebay, and The Mothertruck will be getting finished ASAP. Selling the 02 Hawk only gained me garage space for a very short time, The two El Caminos and the wagon have just about maxed me out for now.
  21. No free ride on this one, Toyota!
