  1. Love this: http://www.autoextremist.com/page2.shtml#Rant
  2. Hmm, good point.
  3. Interesting how the answers are all over the place. The only one I really thought was really horrible was the Rolls. Caddy: I like this one quite a bit though the DTS is of no interest to me generally. To me the clean lines and the simplicity of design make this my kind of luxurious. Lincoln: Though obviously very dated, not terrible to look at. Lexus: I had to go back and look at this one three times to get a grip on how I feel about it. My first impression was "yuck, that looks cheap!" When I went back and looked again, I got the impression of quality materials. The third time I realized that I hate the design (shapes etc.) but the materials and workmanship seem quite good. Jag: I expect alot more from Jaguar. Benz: This one Does look cheap. Maybach: Overblown and gaudy, especially bad use of the wood (too much and oddly shaped).
  4. Miserable friggin storm, nothing but accumulated sleet and lots of it. I am sooo retiring from snow plowing after this winter. I've had enough. Damn, but this stuff was HEAVY ! I am still tired and sore, and just a bit grumpy. This puts me about a week behind where I wanted to be on my non-snow to do list.
  5. Miserable, steady sleet here now.
  6. So, did you pick up that copy of 1984 yet, NOS? :AH-HA_wink:
  7. That sums it up nicely.
  8. This is a good idea. Anyone know the total number of models?
  9. It looks like Mother Nature is going to delay the project again. It was 79 degrees yesterday and snow is predicted for tomorrow!
  10. C&G project frenzy! I LIKE it!
  11. I have to join the crowd and say V10 a well. Super sport, I like your recipe.
  12. Those rims are already on my list of possibilities, so I'm anxious to see what you do with them.
  13. Go for it AR! Maybe add a pearl white highlight in there too.
  14. The El Camino thing has been part of me for as long as I can remember, even in the long stretches of not owning one. But other automotive fascinations are, and have always been, there. Firehawks and firebirds in general, GTOs, Chevelles, trucks of various types, the BMW M5 (pre-Bangle), other European cars, Suburbans, Blazers (full size), Tahoes, the Avalanche, Solstice/Sky, Corvette, quite a few Chrysler musclecars, Shelby Mustangs, The Ford GT, Camaros, Novas(RWD), Monzas,I really had a thing for the Boattail Riviera when I was a kid... The list goes on and on. For me it is looks, configuration, capability, power, how well the vehicle and I mesh while driving, the right stance or bodyline, the right drivetrain or unique feature, and so on. I don't know how to not be an enthusiast.
  15. I'd like to help, but I can't honestly consider any of them. They just don't cross the threshold of basic desireability for me.
  16. So what we have is Taylor lobbying and Lutz undecided.
  17. Thanks man, I may do that when I start hunting for interior stuff.
  18. Between yesterday and today, I put at least 100 miles on the Camino and have run across a problem. The TH350 in it seems to have a tendency to get hung up and not shift into 3rd after driving a while. I think that the cable from the carb linkage is getting fouled somehow as it goes back to normal if I wiggle it around by hand. It will foul up again after a while but is fine for the first few shifts into 3rd. I'd like to get this corrected before I put the drivetrain into the wagon. Any and all insights welcomed. Other than that, the Camino now has stickers for the next year and should be exempt from emisions testing for as long as I own it. I took the headers to be sandblasted ahead of the install into the wagon. I doubt I'll be able to get back to the project for the next few days since lots of unrelated work has to be done this week. Hopefully, I will still be able to get the engine and trans into the wagon before the cold weather comes back this weekend. We shall see.
  19. Note to Homeland Security monitor: BITE ME!
  20. The word "make" is entirely unnecessary.
  21. The day this happens, I renounce my citizenship and join the resistance.
  22. <----- hands out torches.
  23. That bears repeating.
